I first saw Aaron Fike race in a midget back in 1997 when he was 15 years old. Was a nice kid and very talented racer. From what I heard, he injured his shoulder as a senior in high school playing baseball. Like so many others, he was prescribed an opioid pain killer and became addicted. I think of him often, glad he's been able to turn his life around.

When you've only scored 5 Top 10's in 64 nationally touring series races, even if in subpar equipment, nobody is going to be calling back. Especially when you admit to using drugs on race day, even if they've been clean ever since.
