“An average finish of 6.9. Nice.”
Nice, indeed.
Nice
Very nice

As soon as someone gets compared to Jeff Gordon, you know its gonna get rough
That’s the problem really everyone thinks they’ve found the next Jeff Gordon/Jimmie Johnson when really they haven’t. Those drivers are a one in a million.
@@vanguardtrainer924 they said jimmie was like gordon but i think jeff helped bring jimmie into the team
@@vanguardtrainer924 Kenny Irwin Jr. Was The First driver To Be Considered The NEXT Jeff Gordon and we all Know What happened To Him
It’s like in the NBA when someone gets compared to MJ
*Casey Atwood,* anyone?
I first saw Aaron Fike race in a midget back in 1997 when he was 15 years old. Was a nice kid and very talented racer. From what I heard, he injured his shoulder as a senior in high school playing baseball. Like so many others, he was prescribed an opioid pain killer and became addicted. I think of him often, glad he's been able to turn his life around.
no you didn’t
NASCAR wishes they could have as many corporate sponsors as early-mid 2000s Busch Series
I swear you introduce everyone to drivers we never heard of.
That's something i love about this channel.
Must be a huge fan to never have heard of Aaron Fike or his brother AJ?
Yeah it’s nice to see drivers u never seen or heard,it shows how many people tried to score big,had a chance but failed
@@rickieastman5409 aj fike? he a bust?
Lion Plays did I say AJ was a bust? Nope. Merely making note of how someone could be a big NASCAR fan and not ever heard of either Fike brother.
That’s crazy that he’d use heroine on race days. Kinda scary
Yeah no wonder he destroyed the car 🚗 every race.
Well heroin users typically have to use EVERY DAY. It doesn't mean they're high all day though.
Not really. It just makes you feel normal except less stressed out.
Anytime you hear Darian say a name of a driver we don’t know, *you know that’s why they’re a bust...* lol
Oh hey Denny, what do u use to edit? I’ve looked all over the internet for a good editor (finding some) but. I never think I found the editor you use
Anytime I hear Darian say a name I DO know, I have to see how many people say they DON'T know, and then realize "Jesus fuck, I'm old."
@@Loaf_ve I would suggest asking on one of his videos...I don’t think he has comment reply notifications on.
@@Nc3three oh.
Not letting promising drivers develop in lower series is prime for busts (sans the drug use).
I think Aaron Fike really gives the prime definition of what a NASCAR Bust is
Honestly, Aaron Fike was built to be an Open Wheel driver and not a Stock Car driver.
As a person, I am glad to see Aaron Fike recovered great and is doing well!
Don’t do drugs, kids.....
Just like Steve Kinser he was meant to be a Dirt driver and not A Stock car driver
Yes, He was just like JJ Yeley and the late Jason Leffler. All three were great sprint and midget drivers but couldn't get a gasp of a heavier pavement car.
@@bclautz because Gibbs hired them and rushed them thinking they would be the next Tony Stewart
Yeah, if he had just held the wheel straight in that first wreck, he just coulda spun that jackass pinching him and kept his car intact. It's an open wheel instinct to try to keep off of the other competitors when they're scrabbling for grip, but in a stock car, that's a perfect opportunity to take out competition.
@@bclautz ditto for Casey meats although he managed to get good enough to carve out a respectable career but Ganassi clearly brought him to Cup way too quick he had never stepped in a stock car until 15 months earlier
I know this guy personally! Works out at the same gym. Incredibly nice and amazing guy.
Man... Fike must be needing a counselor after seeing Nashville coming back to the schedule.
I swear I remember that guy’s name once, and all because of his suspension
“Rick Allen mentions Brandon Miller”
Remember Brandon Miller?
“Crickets”
Wait he was a real driver?
I reviewed his Diecast recently lol
@@BuschWhackerReviews Yet another “remembered in NASCAR video games but more forgotten in real life” cases. Like some other busts that BFM/Darian has highlighted. Brandon Miller appeared in NASCAR 06 Total Team Control.
I only ever knew him as Not Kevin Harvick
@@k3nnyisaw3som3 yep he was a Kevin Harvick project, he was the successor to Clint Bowyer in that role. However he eventually got dropped after 2007
4:55 "Well Rule #1 in stock car racing is Learn how to wreck someone without wrecking yourself"
Has been forever
Good Seasons: Jamie McMurray 2010
he didn’t really do that good tho, he only had 12 top 10s
@@hetterman10r9
He won 3 races, two of which were Crown Jewels, and this is all coming from a driver who had 7 total cup wins.
That's more like "Season", it was good and bad at the same time. He managed to win the 500 and the Brickyard in one year yet had a terrible points finish in comparison.
@@Festivus_Miracle
He finished 14th in points which was a big improvement over his 21st position in 09. Not to mention McMurray never had a top-ten points finish in Cup, 11th in 2004 was his best ever, so 14th is actually in the higher end of his range.
@@superbird4351 does McMurray have any notable moments from 2004?
This man was doing heroin in the Kings Island parking lot... wtf
Don't judge someone until you walk they shoes
I ODed in front of a Chuck E. Cheese when I was using. Let's just say your mind isn't exactly in the right place in full swing addiction lol.
Not that crazy.
Nascar busts: chad McCumbee
I remember Aaron Fike for a few reasons. Him and A.J. were damn good USAC racers. Unfortunately, that talent did not translate into NASCAR and it seemed like Aaron Fike was crashing a car every week. I also remember when he got busted at King's Island. I used to live about an hour away from the park and my family would go there like every weekend. I was so surprised that it was King's Island. That's about when the ugliness of the opioid epidemic started creeping into the area surrounding the park as well.
Nashville Superspeedway HATES him.
I was gonna say
I almost forgot about this guy. Also, nice touch with the Gran Turismo 1 music.
I THOUGHt I WAS THE OLY ONNE!
Anyone else say nice at the same time as Darian after the 6.9?
That whole losing the glove bit was a miracle Almost like Jesus himself came down from heaven cause he’s such a huge Aaron Fike fan and didn’t want him to go a lap down
bro was given lowkey classics like the leann/walgreens cars and just squandered it in broad daylight like wtf
NASCAR Bust: Hermie Sadler.
That situation with the glove is hilarious, what else did he think was going to happen? 😂
I immediately thought of Robby Gordon and the foam toss.
@@TheBronxBunnyMan yeah, I can see the similarities between them as well
Everyone: "WHO?"
Need to find the article but I'm fairly sure it was stated that the race before he got arrested he was racing while high on heroin, whhich is both impressive....and terrifying.
He has gotten his life back on track.
Track...
Badum tsssss
Aaron Fike: Liked Nascar, LOVED Heroin..
Robby Gordon has been beat for how to get a caution
Maybe he got the idea from the incident here and chose to throw out a different object hoping NASCAR wouldn't know it was him.
He threw his own debris so he could get a caution. That’s pretty bad.
RIP running AOL guy.
Interesting video as always!
It made me know more about his career and subsequent suspension due to drug usage.
Good job! Keep up the awesome work.
I hope he is still doing good people don't know how powerful that shit is. Thank God I never messed with it.
"The world of NASCAR kept calling" maybe Fike should have let those calls go straight to voicemail
Edit: I think I know why Fike never got another chance in NASCAR: he admitted to using heroin on race days
Looks at some of these crashes and wonders if the heroin was to dull injury pain as those were some nasty looking crashes.
Yeah. If you're a great talent, maybe you get a ride in a lower series and try to work your way back up. When you've only scored 5 Top 10's in 64 nationally touring series races, even if in subpar equipment, nobody is going to be calling back. Especially when you admit to using drugs on race day, even if they've been clean ever since.
Sad story, but well presented. The thumbs up is for quality, not the events. . . :(
It's kinda odd how many people comment on how they never heard of most of the guys in the bust series but I remember all of them
Addiction is a disease, but you can always fight to get better Ladies and Gentlemen, so never give up.
I remember Aaron Like, but I think one of your sources is out of date. I looked him up and he was already 21 by 2004. Didn't Gordon win a USAC race at IRP before he was 18?
I click so fast when I see a new NASCAR Busts title on your channel

Dude was arrested 5 minutes from my house.
D man good stuff as always brother! Don't ever stop making this videos my friend because not only do you have great content, but it's all put together so very well. I appreciate you D!
The first NASCAR bust video where my immediate response was "Who?"
Ok, now this is the first NASCAR bust that I've officially never heard of.
I absolutely love this series! Keep them coming!
Isn't the driver Matt McCall the same Matt McCall that is currently Kurt Busch's crew chief?
Yes, it's the same guy.
Would you consider Bryan Reffner a NASCAR Bust despite being successful in ASA as well as one career Craftsman Truck Series win at Fort Worth marred by Tony Roper’s fatal crash?
I love how this video cut to an ad right as the replay of the track getting blocked ended lol
The fike brothers were so good in USAC. Definitely didn’t transition well haha
I met Aaron at an Ollie's grand opening in '04. Seemed like too nice of a guy. For some reason, his drug use admission didn't surprise me.
What do you mean too nice of a guy? Isn’t that what all drivers are like at sponsor events, fake and overly bubbly to please the suits?
@@TheLocalLt hahahaha I put on events for certain drivers and no. They're not. Some are absolutely awesome and I enjoy the work to get it all set up. Some... are not. I've even had one cancel on me after getting everything set up and he lived in town and it was for a sponsor because he didn't feel like going.
Brad Sweet is another one that went bust.
Man I also forgot about him getting busted for heroin use! D you're an amazing historian of Nascar! Dale Junior would be impressed!
Love your content man keep it up and im subscribed
3:14 LeAnn didn't deserve that.
Great video. Thanks for the awesome busts lol.
There’s a Ollies promo diecast that was Aaron Fikes Busch Series car was made and I’m looking for it!!!!
Also funny how Fike was so bad that they had Biffle drive the car more in 05 and Biffle was the most consistent. Also weird to hear Rick Allen commentating on Fox never knew that he began his career with Fox👍
Great vid as always!
NASCAR Busts: Joseph Lombard
the one moment they cut to the replay of one of aaron fike's 2005 wrecks, they used the aol "You've got mail!" guy
I legit was thinking about this exact topic the other day hes from galesburg Illinois witch is my hometown
Cool! I'm from Davenport!
you know its bad when you never heard of him before
Oh yeah lol
I forgot about that guy
Car stopped at the top of the track.
Everyone: Go to the bottom
the 02 car: I'm smart
Nascar Busts: Steven Wallace
So many of these NASCAR bust videos I think man a lot of the accidents that are shown or not the drivers fault. Well this video WOW it seems like all of Aaron’s crashes that are shown in this video are all and I mean all his fault!
I think he should of went the indy car route. He showed way more promise in Indy Lites
0:58 nice
I guess many open wheel racers(except Tony Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya) should have stayed there.
May I argue that Tony was ONE OF THE BEST NASCAR DRIVERS EVER? Three championships, his own race team.... But yes I'll agree with you Juan Pablo Montoya should've stayed in IndyCar
Montoya was decent in Nascar. Guy just had crap luck so bad. Was definitely the best during that mid late 2000s wave of open wheel guys who tried
@@packisbetter90 I will give you that... By far the best to switch from IndyCar to NASCAR in the 2000s, PERIOD.
Fike in a same crash than Kyle Busch = i hate him
Only good thing Fike ever did.
2:32 😂😂😂😂mike joy we must protect that man
Gran Turismo 1 music. I friggin' love this channel.
Damn so many of these busts have drug problems. It’s just sad honestly.
My best friend that lives in Aaron's hometown of Galesburg, IL for years blamed NASCAR for Aaron's issues, but turned out he didn't know about Aaron's other issues
Bad Seasons: Sam Hornish Jr 2015
GT1's Autonomy....
Nice music choice!
FULLER!!!!!! #47 Sunoco!
hey bfm i just binge watched ur videos and ur bday is july 26. mines july 27. idk thought that was kinda cool. keep it up
Advanced Happy Birthday! You shared your birthday with Matt DiBenedetto next Tuesday. 😉
As DJ Khalid said "yeah another one".
Do a video on aj fike that's his brother
One heck of a sprint and midget driver and talent. Unfortunately, just like JJ Yeley couldn't get the hang of a heavier payment car.
i'd also get him and his brother mixed up. everytime is see AJ or Aaron's name or when someone brings them up i start thinking "wait... was he the one that got busted at Kings Island? or was it the other Fike..."
They even shared a ride at Curb Racing in 2005
Dude a week ago I was thinking about Fike
NASCAR Busts: Davy Jones
NASCAR Busts David Stremme
Nascar busts:Mark McFarland
Cringed when I remembered who this guy was. No idea how anyone could balance a racing career with an opiate addiction.
Glad he got clean.
3:10 "yeah" "yeah" "myeah"
Oh man a Tim Fedewa mention (in a crash ofc lol) i totally forgot about that dude
11:55 Aw man! I used to go there!
I also just saw BFMs comment on one of RC RACER 88s video and I laughed
Dodge has just about nothing but bad luck with Nascar drivers don't they?
I remember hearing he got busted and I was like damn
Championship Seasons: Jimmie Johnson 2007
Wow that glove throwing moment I could’ve never imagine it happened. It’s very embarrassing but it makes for one of those wackiest NASCAR moments
Well, later that year Robby Gordon did something similar with his rollbar padding in a very similar situation.
Man I remembered that crash with Fike and Sadler but couldn't remember who the drivers were until i saw it. It was just a wtf moment
Jesus I didn't know he was a smackhead. Sad.
Can you do david stremme??
