I've often wonder how many 'Oldest Pubs in England or the UK' there actually are. Now this one does have the Guiness World Record but I've also been to the oldest Pub in 2 Cotswolds villages, one in Durham, one in Newcastle, at least two in Wales & every third town or village in Scotland somehow has the oldest Pub!! It's funny but sometimes records were destroyed or lost through history & sometimes the truth used to be stretched a bit. It's always in good fun & generally for the tourists anyway.
