Ford should give an option for the 3.5L ecoboost high output engine.

1 problem I found last yr. at Cleveland auto show is that the XLT model they had was only 3 grand less than a Lincoln MKZ.

This actually looks pretty good in race red with the black grill and accents.
One thing I noticed that's been eliminated is the "RANGER" embossing on the seats of the Lariat. A shame because that gave the seats a more premium look.

I like the looks of the Ranger, but I need to have 2.7, moonroof, ventilated seats and power tilt/teli wheel. A Tremor package might be nice also.

Fx2 package was available on 2019’s I’ve been shopping for a new 2019 and I’ve come across several 2019’s with the fx2 package. Great video though! 👍🏻

@Judge Dredd This truck has a ten speed. Imagine going through those every time. Even the "select" mode which you describe as the "sport" mode will still shift automatically. I think it only delays the shifting to allow the user to shift if he wants to but if you wait too long, the truck will shift anyways. I have accidentally put it in "S" mode and didn't even notice.
Everythings always off road, semi off road, 2wd off road. Can we get a sport truck that is lowered? I never go off road.
The Ranger is too damn expensive, so I bought a F-150 STX with tow package and payload package. Great truck

It's aimed at the Tacoma market. So 4x4/overland enthusiasts with deep pockets.
It's not marketed towards the work truck crowd.

Chris Wright ... I had 5 small trucks, the last three have been rangers. They were a 06, 09, and now the 19 models. These new ones are so far better than anything I ever drove in every aspect. Try one out and you’ll see a huge difference.

My 2019 literally has all those options. Except for the side rails and the bed. Plus mine has the front sensors lol.
Is your a 3.2 or just the 2.0
He didn't say these options were not available at all on the 2019 they were available on certain packages so apparently your truck had the packages or model trim.
What about that automatic engine stop B.S.? Won't buy until I can turn that off permanently. (Without messing with an under dash kit either, btw.)
You can buy an aftermarket tuner which will allow you to turn auto stop start off and will also give you some options at the gas pump. Ecoboost engines love 93 octane or if you've got e85 in your area, you can have a flash tune for that and make an extra 75+ HP no problem I recommend SCT tuner as they work on pretty much any ford vehicle. Also if you think your non-flex fuel vehicle can't run e-85 you're wrong. It is still wise to run a tank of non-ethanol fuel every oil change though.
Just plug a cheap night light in to the 110V outlet behind the center console. No more start stop.

I have noticed on another 2020 Lariat " RANGER" is no longer embossed in the leather any info on that??
I don't recall "RANGER" being on the 2019 but I do know that the 2020 we have does not have it.

This is typical of Ford, introduce a new model with "all the best stuff", then start de-contenting after the first year. In fairness, Ford usually adds and takes away, like adding that FX2 package, but making you add the STX package at the same time so it looks like the FX package isn't that expensive.
Great additions to make the schmucks like me that bought a 2019 truly regret buying, however, if rumors are true that there will be a complete redesign for 2021, I will trade up then IF you give it more legroom.

No. Ranger is based off the Australian Ford design. It has one chassis or wheelbase. Meaning crew always has a smaller bed.
Finally someone showing the extended cab model and not the horrible looking 4 door. I want that exact model but all black!

I don't trust a four cylinder in s truck. Why the hell don't you put the 4.6L v6 in them. The old 4.0v6 were good. The 3.0 v6 are fair. But a four cylinder is to much work on a transmission. When you have a decent payload
I wish they had used the newer NON EcoBoost V6 into the Ranger.

What's funny is if you look at it
Hp to weight you get better gas mileage better for the planet.
Look at motorcycles a 700cc is equal to 74hp. At 450 lbs with rider gets 55mpg. But Auto manufacturing and government. Keeps pushing smaller engines
Now a 4.6l v6 with a 6speed transmission should push a Ranger to about 50 mpg. With 2 passengers and empty bed of course you the more less milage but at full should only bring you down to 30mpg and not as much stress on drive tran they just want you to pay at the pump and repair or replace all the time build to last is how we will save the planet
no turbo. V6 and 4cyl options Manual transmission. No power SHIT. Power steering and AC.......it could be and SHOULD BE UNDER 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS .

Lariat should be pronounced LARY-it not Lary-ETTE. Put the accent on the first syllable. Not sure why this bothered me so much but the cringe factor was pretty intense.

Love my 19 lariat, but at 7500 miles it spun a rod bearing, so now I’m wary of it and will trade it in before warranty is up.

David Klimmek .... provide evidence? Why would I lie about it? I said I loved the truck. I’m just leery that something associated with the motor will go haywire. This is my third ranger and when I trade it in I will be getting another one. I’ll try to post a copy of the repair bill for $8000.

They need a raptor version. Hot seller.
A model called Raptor is available in all other markets this truck is sold in. Though it should be noted that the GAS engine in those other markets is a 2 liter turbo with an optional turbo-diesel.

Non Turbo v6?
Bed extender not available with drop in liner. That's a fail/Zonk. And as expensive as these are in XLT/Lariat trim why does the customer have to pay a thousand dollars for a spray bed liner? Why is that still an option? Even at 47K loaded lariat it comes with a bare as naked metal bed. This is a nice truck but still too expensive. I've heard a few getting them with a 7K dollar discount. I guess that would be ok. But the suspensions need work on these. They have too much wobble on them while driving. And the tiny 2.3 turbo does offer decent power but has too much lag off the line. MPG's are mixed. But from what I can tell, its not much better then the competitions V6's which IMO, is better for truck duty. The new Nissan Frontier will offer more power with their new 3.8 direct injected V6 using a German Daimler Benz 9 speed. Normally aspirated of course. Just not a fan of using small displacement using induction to haul heavy vehicles. I can see if it provided meaningful gains in MPG's. But in this case, folks driving the full size F-150 with the 2.7 are getting the same or better. I think Nissan will have the best power train in this segment. Can't wait for the new model next year. Still this Ranger is a great truck. I looked at them when they first came out but the dealer wanted 5K over MSRP. I laughed and walked away. Ended up with loaded Nissan Pro 4X which ended up costing 12K less. And I got leather/power heated seats, spray bed liner with utility track and bed extender only cost me a few hundred more, bilstein offroad shocks, 31 inch all terrain wheels/rims, rear dana 44 locker, sunroof (not even offered on ford), 9 speaker 380 watt rockford fosgate with sub (sounds even better then my loaded BMW with harman Kardon) also has BT with built in GPS Sat. Yeah the head unit may be a little dated but the sound is amazing so I don't care. It has a better/more stable ride and non of that horrible wobble that the Ranger has. Thanks to the bilstein tuned offroad suspension. Next year I'm going to trade it in on the all new frontier with the newer DI 3.8 motor and 9 speed. I did own a ranger overseas a few years back with the 3.2 diesel. Loved that truck. Just not a fan of what they did to it in the states. Again, if in the market for a Ranger do your homework. Sales have indeed picked up but Ford's pricing is unrealistic by a far margin. Many dealers are having to give heavy discounts to move them. So look for a good deal. With the money saved you can mod the suspension to make it more stable and put a raptor like grill on the front end being the stock looks hideous. Definitely put a larger AT tire on it as well. These can look pretty good with a few mods but from the factory are pretty lame. If you don't believe me, check out this video. This guy did good. Got it for 7K off and did those exact mods. Looks like a totally different truck.. The funny thing is he got 7K off from the same dealer I went to that wanted 5K over list. But the timing sucked. I think the Ranger is the best looking truck in it's class and with a few mods looks amazing. When it gets a 2.7, moonroof, ventilated seats and power tilt wheel, I'll be looking. As far as a bedliner, I'd put a Bed Rug like I did in the Raptor I had.
I put a bed extender in my 19 with the drop in bedliner, you just have to drill two holes in the liner.
TLDR
No manual... going with the taco.
People act like this truck is new in reality it has been in its current form in other parts of the world for around 10 years or more. Bring a regular cab and a naturally aspirated V6 to the market and I may consider one.
I hope that the upcoming Courier isn’t built in Mexico because anything built there has more quality control problems. I might buy a Courier after they have been in production for a few years. I deliver pizza and I can’t justify $500 a month payments on a base Ranger.
No interest in any full size truck anymore because of this truck.

@@Cabmaker I have had a 2000 ranger and currently a 2009 ranger bub, and I will tell you that my 4.0 is and will be far more reliable that that 4 banger. Any time you ask 4 cylinders to do the job of 6 you are asking for trouble. I had 300,000 miles on my 2000 and currently have 186000 on my 2009. Never had a problem with either and I WORKED both of them HARD.
