XP DEUS vs DEUS 2 - LETS PUT THEM TO THE TEST! …Plus mini dig!

  • In this video myself and Sam went out to the medieval Permission where I have had some Roman coins and also some Hammered coins.
    Sam had just purchased the new XP Deus 2 machine so i thought it was a good opportunity to pit both machines against each other on a range of different targets.
    After our test we spent a few hours out in the field detecting on what turned out to be an awesome Spring day and we were lucky enough to get some more very interesting finds.
    Hit play and come along for the day!

    In my opinion, just go out and detect with both machines. When someone hits a deep target call the other machine over and see if they can find the target. After a handful of deep targets, we will get a feel for which machines go deeper. This was, you're not wasting time digging holes and burring targets that will not act like targets that have been in the ground for a long time? This way too, you are actually detecting/hunting for relics or old coins. Not trying to rain on your parade, but suggesting a different way to compare machines. I've never seen anyone compare this way and it seems to me, a much better way?

    • @OMA_MetalDetecting
      @OMA_MetalDetecting  Před 2 lety

      That’s a really good idea and I wish I had thought of that for the second half of this video. The only benefit of the first segment is that we have total control of the target and it’s depth and so could test both machines performance while gaining confidence. Really appreciate this comment and thank you for writing it. All the best 👍👍

      On paper the D2 is better however in reality they are very similar. The D1 is slightly better at target separation however the D2 is better at picking out tiny targets. In theory the D2 is also a D1 as it has “mono” mode so if you have the cash get the D2 however the D1 is still a very effective machine 👍

      Fair point mate! I think we were going more for a depth test on this one as there isn’t much difference between to D1 and D2 on discrimination. I wanted to see how much better the Fast Multi Frequency would hit deep targets.

    I have the ctx 3030 , nox 800 and i have the deus 2 the latter i am hugely disappointed with it .. nox still blows it out the water and it is 600 pounds cheaper .. the build is nice but the wobbles with 13 inch coil .at number 4 and 5 on the stem . the bone head phones are poor quality and nip my ears .. the dues two loves the iron .. and you can not notch it out .. minelab machine you can knock out the iron .. i need a bucket for all the iron from the deus 2 . yes you can turn down the volume on the iron ... deus has not moved forward enough if i am honest with the tech .. and the coke jesus comes in at 23 25 even 30 .. thats puzzles me why so hi a number should be down in 2s or 3s ....i do like the control box and how you can change programmes . the machine is not worth the 1400 basic asking price ...but i do enjoy having no cables ..

    • @OMA_MetalDetecting
      @OMA_MetalDetecting  Před 3 měsíci +1

      In my experience from going out with someone who has the nox and loves it, I always cross reference my finds with his machine and on most targets they both pick them up well however, if I get a faint target with the Deus and then ask him to check it 9/10 times he picks nothing up at all. This has led him to question the things he has missed over the years and now whenever we hit a pasture site (never ploughed) he will always use my spare machine because he wants the depth. I do like the box though, it’s a great machine and has found him loads 👍👍

      @@OMA_MetalDetecting i do find that hard to believe.. . i have used the nox for almost 6 years and the ctx for 14 years and the dues 2 years now .. and for the money the deus two is the elephant in the room .. yes it looks nice and the control box is nice and i do like that it can be programmed but the mine lab machines are better at target IDing .. when a large bit of iron is iron with the minelab .. Iron on the Deus2 is some what all over the place large bits come in in the 70s even shows up as NF .. i and dont get me started on coke .🤣. why does it come in as high as 25 to 32 .. you never did coke with the minelab or iron .. i just feel that the deus 2 is still lagging behind the mine lab machines with target IDing . you can lose a life time wondering what you have missed . tell him not to worry about it just enjoy the hobby .. its meant to be fun 😜..
