    Hi. I was wondering if you used cold stratification before sowing? I was so inspired after watching this video that I just sowed them ,the way you showed without stratification. I’m new to strawberries and I appreciate learning that simply drying out a strawberry gives seeds to sow! Can’t wait to try with a dried strawberry!

      @@Gypsygrowgoddess yes and no...... If you bought store-bought strawberries there's no need to they've been refrigerated already before getting to you..... Fresh ones yes put them in the fridge for about 25 days and they are ready to rock.
      I'm sure you are going to have wonderful success with your new strawberry plants.

      Is there something specific you were looking to learn? Maybe I could incorporate it into a future video in which I plant table grapes.

    Thanks so much! I would love to watch you make your soil mix! I am brand new to gardening. Been thinking of hydroponics. What do you think about it? I am old and can’t bend and dig out weeds anymore. I do own an archer of land. It’s mostly weeds but a nice old orchard and raspberry bushes.

    • @murdocksmadnesspatriotgard5472
      @murdocksmadnesspatriotgard5472  Před rokem +2

      Hydroponic systems do well but require a lot of maintenance and a lot of very close monitoring of the water and nutrients. One simple mistake and you can lose all your plants. The soil is much more forgiving and although hydroponic does boast bigger plants, they aren't always as natural looking or as healthy as coming from the Earth as they were intended to, in my opinion. ❤️

      If the temperature is outside are above 50°, but lower than 80 you could simply cover the cups and place them outside in the sun.....in winter or very early spring there's not enough warmth or daylight hours to get them going right.

      @@valjalava1951 this is a basic all-around good starter mix...... Most seeds don't require a whole bunch of fertilizer right up front.
      There is enough in the mix already to feed them for well over a month ❤️
      When we transplant them outside or we put them in a forever-home like a big pot, that is when we add the earthworm castings, the bat guano, the fertilizers and all that good stuff to really pump them up.
      The compost and goodies already in the pro mix and Kellogg's mix do just fine for the seedlings

      Yes. The moisture is what is required for germination.
      As long as you have some cinnamon sprinkled in there with them, there should be no worry of rotting at this stage.
      Once they start popping go ahead and uncover them ❤️

    Are there male & female differences amongst 🍓 plants, which are important to know?

    • @murdocksmadnesspatriotgard5472
      @murdocksmadnesspatriotgard5472  Před rokem +4

      Their absolutely are.
      Some varieties of plants like most varieties of cucumbers or squash have both male and female flowers while tomatoes have them togeather.
      Knowing your plants and their genders is very important when it comes to producing fruit or flowers. It is always a good idea to do a little bit of research on the plants you intend to grow to find out if they are male female or true breeding and have both.
      Some varieties of fruit trees won't even pollinate themselves they must have a partner to do it.
