- It's not who you expect, trust me. This video gets wild. Thanks to Karl Jacobs posting a trailer for Tales from the SMP: The Maze on twitter the other day, the Dream SMP lore just got INSANELY interesting.

Well the DSMP characters are very complicated so l don't feel like there's gonna be a "100% evil villian that ruins everybodys' stuff and frick their moms while they're at it" type of character again but still, what an interesting theory!

Can confirm, noone is just "pure evil" so I doubt they would make such a boring villain
When I first saw the trailer, i couldnt figure out that it was Jack's voice due to it being distorted, but after i found out that it was Jack, i thought that a big arc is coming which involves him, and as we see each person's line in the trailer- destruction is guaranteed no matter what. And when you mentioned them being related by death, i instantly thought of him not following the canon life system. Finally i can understand lore a bit more, and i cant wait for your future theories!!

I mean experience and if there is no dream smp theory, then there is no big lore in the smp
he should just apply for the SMP but only working with the "lore writer" role (if there is lol)
I saw the title of this video and just went: “Yeah. Jack Manifold. Really, did no one else figure that out earlier?”
My reasoning (before watching this video) was as following; Jack Manifold keeps being left behind. He’s the ‘loner’ of the SMP, the ‘weirdo’. And what do those people grow out to be? The worst villains. It’s just like Fundy had said: ‘If I can’t make people smile, I will make them cry,’

This also fits his on camera persona. Everyone making jokes that he sucks (and incase someone doesn't know this, it's all a joke that Jack is in on.)

Jack has the right influence and views to be a God of Death, I can see that.
Quite the dilemma but I feel like Karl will choose the Egg. If Ani's theory about the In Between is true, then everyone was killed already. Karl by the point that he has to decide will know that it's inevitable that they're eventual deaths will not be peaceful. But, no more people means DreamXD will only function off of the clones. Karl is his only power source. I guess it depends on what learn about DreamXD and his goals in the future but I can see Karl choosing the egg because it's such an uphill battle, especially with the carnage going on in the present

i’m dream’s video he said something about how if no one knows you’re dead and you get revived you were never really dead. jack died and got revived and no one knows that. my brain just exploded-

My child just finished watching Karl's stream and wants to share a theory/info
!SPOILERS AHEAD!
At the end, in DreamXD world, DreamXD says something in Standard Galactic. I translated it and it says, "L DO YOU KNOW SHINIGAMI LOVE APPLES". 'Shinigami are gods or supernatural spirits that invite humans toward death in certain aspects of Japanese religion and culture. Shinigami have been described as monsters, helpers, and creatures of darkness. Shinigami are used for tales and religions in Japanese culture.' (copypasted from Google) . DreamXD is a Shinigami. I don't know what the apple means yet (maybe a god apple?), but keep an eye out for lore relevant apples on the DreamSMP.
Also, DreamXD brings up that another time traveler existed and they had memory issues like Karl. The only character other than Karl with memory issues was Ranboo, who, what do you know, died as a direct result of Dream.
TLDR; Keep an eye out for important apples and Ranboo was the other time traveler. :]

Apple is a death note reference. Basically a shinigami loves apples b/c they don't have anything in their world like it. It's practically a drug. If you like suspenseful animes then go watch it
After the first episode of season 2 came out this might be a possibility. Karl was introduced to “DreamXD’s World” which connected the inbetween with the other side and Karl was told he’d have a choice on where he’d like to go and that both places have a demigod or overseer of that place and with the other side being the one karl chose Jack could possibly be the overseer of it since there’s a big theme of fire which Jack is also known for
Only a min into the vid and dang, can’t wait to see how we got to that conclusion, I love Jack’s lore so I’m excited 😆

While personally I don’t think c!Jack would be _the_ God of Death (Kristen already kinda has that role last I checked, though I don’t remember if it was directly stated), some kind of demigod of death would be plausible. It would be surprising enough to the viewers but also kind of a “Damn that makes a lot of sense” thing. Here are some of my predictions for this Tales episode
* Have to get out of the maze by a certain time
* There are mentions of all the characters that had lines in the teaser (Billiam, Ran, Ranbob, Jack?)
* Jack is the creator of the maze
* There’s some big monster
* Memory loss (not just for Karl but all the characters)
* _they come up in an elevator one at a time with no memory of their past and a little bit of supplies only to find themselves surrounded by four huge walls of stone and four entrances to a gigantic maze filled with dangerous creatures and traps-_
Bonus points if their names are written in blood on the wall /j

I really liked this theory! I do have one question about it tho, if DreamXD likes to have repeated deaths, why does the death book he made perma kill someone?
no clue, honestly! i have no idea why he'd make it kill the user, either - it seems almost MADE to be used in conjunction with the revive book. my best guess is some trickery from the other god(dess) of death, mumza, nerfind dreamxd somehow

A perma-death also powers the egg, so obviously he wants the death book's user to not use it in a manner that would power the egg...hence, he brings up the condition of perma death with no limbo, as it they aren't able to power the egg whilst not in limbo...so basically, if they can't be of any use to DreamXD by dying more, they aren't able to power the egg from limbo either

There is just one problem with this, Bad said that the egg gets power from people losing a canon life, not necessarily completely dying
I think I know what Karl chooses to do. I think that he decides to continue time traveling. We see that there are many clones of Karl in the In Between, but none in the Other Side. This leads me to believe that Karl decides to sacrifice himself to save his friends.
4:40 I believe that there has been a time where Karl went to the future. The one with Ranbot seems to be in the future. Seeing how he says that the themed rooms are based off of leaders from the *Past*, Leaders who were Karls friends.

I think she is, if I remember correctly Phil letting Mumza sit at his computer and play on the SMP as him was canonically explained as her spirit temporarily possessing him. It’s not like when Drista plays as her brother, where pretty much the only canon things about that are the illegal relics she gave Techno and Tommy, the bedrock name sign, and an admin-spawned wolf she tamed (whom Tommy later kills in that one stream where he went around breaking old stuff)

Jack is an overseer but I doubt its actually the character jack. Its just a demigod version of jack like dreamXD is the god version of dream.

You hooked me on dimensions. I have a lot of theories on that
I have about 10 different theories for Karl but one that I think about the most is that the Inbetween is a place of death and that the Other Side could be a hidden place of peace or life, but it was overrun by the Egg. And the Egg is what corrupted and made this place another area of death. Like with the flowers that are shown with the places, the Inbetween having black wither roses and the Other Side having white tulips.
Also when Sapnap was asked to put a name in the Book of Death, he put in Johnathan, and one of his characters in the Tales was named John. Normally John will be short for Johnathan, so another theory is that Sapnap will one day find out how to mess with the future people using the book.
When DreamXD spoke in his first language, I reversed it and it sounded like " For he killed my child--ery " almost sounding like he was say two different things at once. Even if I'm right or wrong, XD still sounds like he were to speak in the same way as the Egg

This theory has like a special connection to the time traveller ranboo theory especially the choice part at the end , maybe ranboo couldn't choose beacuse of his hatred of sides so dreamXD had to kick him out and like took away his memory of time travelling? Maybe that's why it was hard to say that the last time traveller forgot

@Animagician do u or anyone else think Ranboo was born coz Dream used his Revive Book for the first time on an Enderman? Coz, remember wen Dream used it on Techno he first had to punch/draw blood from Techno before using it? So maybe Dream used his own blood for the activation and then killed an Enderman for the actual reviving, hence the Green eye and blood plus half white and half black skin :-).... just a theory ive been holding onto... i may have mentioned it somewhere in someones comment section last year but yeah, i still think its the strongest argument for Ranboos existence and connection to Dream and y he can hear Dream as a voice in his head and lastly, y he has such a strong attachment to Dream, allowing Dream to somewhat control Ranboo at times even from inside the prison, making Ranboo risk his life setting off TNT while Tommy was visiting Dream amongst other things.... Just saying, maybe its worth looking into :-)
I’m calling it here and now with you all as witnesses. The episode is called “The maze” it will be inspired by the maze runner books (similar to Outsiders smp). And they may make another one tied to this later , so something like a total of 3 . Maze runner; this one.
