  • Couple of weeks ago we finally made it out to see the museum for the 306th bombardment group. Such a great museum and was also happy to see a Norden and a Toby Jug. Been wanting to do this one for a while and it was well worth the trip out. Staff are really helpful and friendly and answered any questions we had. Pictures property of the American air museum in Britain and footage and music property of walking wartime

@@Walking_wartime he was in he 367th squadron. On his 23rd mission as a navigator, his plane was hit in Germany but they made it across the channel and crash landed in England. My father survived 😁.

@@Walking_wartime I wish I had more stories. My father didn’t talk about it plus he unfortunately died at the early age of 49. The plane on his last mission was Cap’n and the Kids. I moved from the States to England 14 years ago and have had the honor to visit the museum in Thurleigh several times and have become more and more interested in what my father may have experienced. One thing that continues to impress me is how the Brits are so appreciative of the Americans and want to keep the memories alive.

@@kennisjarvis8105 that’s a shame but completely understandable. It’s an incredible museum and lot of things some museums don’t have like a Norden bomb site and a 50mm. Yes we are very proud of the 8th here. I live a 3 minute drive from podington where the 92nd were based and chelveston where the 305th were so kinda live right in the middle of the 1st division which is an honour
