Tomb Raider Speedrun Level 13-Natla's Mines

- This is from my upcoming Tomb Raider 1 speedrun that beats the current one on the Speed Demos Archive.
This one is for Natla's Mines, showing a time of 9:11. Only essential items are picked up and used. These videos are the low quality videos of the run. The higher quality videos and detailed comments can be found at speeddemosarchi... within the next few months.
That's impressive to see how speedrun of this game have changed, that was a nice speedrun 13 years ago
Man, I must've had the patience of a saint to have completed this game as a kid. Great speedrun.
I never realised the background sounds in this level. Yikes! They sound hollow, like they're coming from inside the pyramid, you can hear the Scion chamber too. How have I never heard these?! You do this tricky level fantastically. You didn't even care about getting your pistols back! :o You just completely bypassed all the pointless jumping above the lava lakes. Holy crap! I thought Lara was gonna die when she met the bald man. But you just went on and did the level! AMAZING!
I always got lost in that level. Your speedrun really is amazing.

whoa close finish!!!! This woz a great run. Although not my fave level it certainly woz enjoyable watching your run through it. Dont think il be attempting to beat this anytime soon!!!

I intentionally didn't jump through the boxes as the rules I went by meant I wasn't allowed to.
I just went up the side of the pyramid that was closest as I wanted to get away from the shotgun guy as fast as possible, I guess going up the left might have made a small difference.
I remember when I used to watch my step dad play this, the noises scared me
i played the first tomb raider when i was 7 so yes they were that young
wow that was twice as fast as the speeddemos version. Nice job.
Theres a little shortcut that you can do before pulling the minecart switch, once you've pulled the first block out once, you can use the sideways jump glitch to get through to the switch (past the 2 moveable blocks) and it saves the 20 secs pulling the blocks about.
and did you mean to go up the right side of the pyramid? ;)

Natla had 5 hired men. Larson and Pierre were dead by this point, and you run into the 3 others in this level. The guy who said "ain't nothing personal" would've run out with his double magnums and shot the hell out of Lara, if MMAN2 weren't so damn fast. ;)
Since u skipped the first part of the level at the boat, u won't have any gun for the next levels.. But still the fastest run i've ever see.
What!!!!! Another glitch! Lol. You saved about 3 minutes doing that. I'm stuck on this level and it took me about 10 minutes just to get over to that place where you cant pull yourself out of the water!

Most of the times I try running away from the uzi kid, he has better aiming in Psx than in pc! Same for the other 2 guys. As soon as you come in view to activate the tnt explosion, that cowboy starts shooting at you from a distance in the psx version. Those background sounds are WICKED!

guys tomb raider on the pc and tomb raider on the playstaion have different music the playstation verison has more background music

Well, if pushing and pulling tons of blocks is something you'd consider "smart" game design then yes, they certainly dumbed it down.

Is that the PC version? I noticed that in TR1 on the playstation all the music was there except the background noises, and vice versa on the PC version.

Does every people dropping comments on Tomb Raider videos had their parents play the original Tomb Raider when it came out instead of themselves or what? Are the players of the first Tomb Raider of all that young?

Hmmm...original TR games are more realistic than Chrystal Dinamics'!
