Tomb Raider Speedrun Level 8-Cistern

- This is from my upcoming Tomb Raider 1 speedrun that beats the current one on the Speed Demos Archive.
This one is for the Cistern, showing a time of 7:26. Only essential items are picked up and used. These videos are the low quality videos of the run. The higher quality videos and detailed comments can be found at speeddemosarchi... within the next few months.
The Cistern is another level I despise, but again, you perform it superbly, courageously, and in a record time. I also never noticed the mega spooky sound effects in the background either, so thanks for introducing me to that :p Great jumping in the gorilla/pierre room. And that dive straight across the blocks in the slimy green room with the lever, very nice indeed. You've got your leaping down to a fine art. And yikes, you collected all those keys in an astonishing time! Awesome
that main room is so gorgeous when it is flooded with water in the PS1 version
yer i know what you mean , its same with me, its because tomb raider is made for older computers, so i think a way to help would be to lower the usage thing, im not sure on it but theres a tutorial on it if you search something like "installing tomb raider" and it might help on there to eese it down to help the involuntary behaviour

infact try this , right click on tomb.vlp, go to 'Properties', switch to VDMSound tab, click 'Advanced' button, switch to 'Performance' tab, move CPU usage slider to the right.
zero do you mean the pc version or the ps version, cos on my pc version it tends to get that sometimes.

I used to watch my cousin play this all the time. This level was long if i remember rightly, if you dont know where your going that is:)
It should be noted that the PAL version has the level timer tweaked to compensate for the lower speed, so times are identical across all versions despite speed differences (though I have heard of a few copies that are "broken" in this regard).
Yeah, it's normal. Music kicks in only when something important is happening.
The one at the far end with items on that counts as a secret? Jump towards it, press grab, then release it and hold forwards.
how can he play with those creepy sounds in the background. i wud've been too scared to do anything.

This is the correct speed, it's the PAL version that is wrong.
Jump forwards while holding the walk button.

why didnt the crocs eat the rats? were they not hungry enough? same goes for the gorillas and the lions, also the raptors n wolves.....
Great job and tough level. I play TR 1 in Playstation and there is no music, just the sound effects (walking etc.). But in some parts there is music. Is that normal? CAN ANYBODY ANSWER???? Thanks
