Nah man, you are just insecure. Confidence comes across as arrogance to people who have not reaped the benefits of hard work & without a plan. If you don't plan ahead / have a vision, you are not a leader.
A great man! Every leader should study what he did and what he believed.
The first thing to notice is not the man himself but the date. It is October, 1965. This is before Singapore would actually register sustained, economic growth and overcome its racial problems and attract the attention of leaders the world over. And yet this man, Lee Kuan Yew, had this amazing swagger, this confidence about him. Declaring that Singapore would be around in 1000 years. It is almost like he KNEW, like you know the sun will rise tomorrow, that Singapore under his leadership would rise and overcome its economic problems and become a united, First World nation. Now that is a true leader.
That's the man of vision instead of greed. He wouldn't mind if he loses but he would mind if the winners are all for themselves instead of the vision.
It may be here in a thousand yrs. yeah but in what shape! Already the rot has begun. Corruption, crime, filth in the streets everywhere , overpopulation, escalating costs, govt has big dreams to show the world. Citizens know better. The rot has begin frm the inside!

Its a massive cultural problem. People replaced idealism and ideology with consumerism. And Singapore is no different in this regard.
there already is a noticeable shortage. go anywhere, or in a bus or train do you hear the local lingo? No only foreign jargon! right left and centre. we are already quite a minority thats why so many foreign citizens are getting citizenship so easily! to fill in the blanks! the last i read its 3:2 the ratio of singaporeans to foreign Prs . mr Lee had to do what he had to do at the time.
