All the characters in the Maximum Carnage game were actually in the Maximum Carnage storyline, so I wouldn't say they shoehorned characters into the game. The game surprisingly follows the comic pretty well.

Speaking of the music in Arcade's Revenge, I think it's worth noting that the music was done by a pretty famous video-game composer: Tim Follin. He did the music for Plok, Silver Surfer, among others and most of it is pretty amazing.

I personally have always loved TAS Spider-Man game. It had a nice mix of Spidey's villains and unlike Maximum Carnage, it was a good balance of challenging and beatable. In some ways, I would say that game makes a case for itself as the best SNES Spider-Man game. It's a close second to Maximum Carnage, and it's certainly worth checking out.
Maximum Carnage and Separation Anxiety were games based on actual Spider-Man comics, by the way, not games they just slapped Spider-Man's name on. All of the characters in Maximum Carnage appear in the story in the comics. It was fucking amazing.

In regards to the goofy Spider-Man sprite, I think they reused one of Wolverine's sprites. The name "Separation Anxiety" was the name of the comic book story arc that the game was based on. It's a term for when people have excessive anxiety from being apart from their home or loved ones - or in Venom's case, having part of his alien symbiote "harvested" from him and turned into five new villains.

However the deeper i dug and further I got I realized that there are numerous moves to utilize. From the "three stooges head knock", to using your web to tie up enemies and give you the extra second of one on one. Also i learned utilizing the web sling for kick maneuver also does good. One of them is mob rules by black sabbath

There’s no mention of the added feature of having the option to call on fellow Super Heroes to assist (like specials) and collect their icons along the way. I think the Gambit music stage is one of the best music tracks for any video game, ever. Totally worth listening to. Also, there's a trick in the Gambit level that allows you to earn infinite stars, which means 99 lives in ten to fifteen minutes or so of playing. Game becomes much more manageable with that many attempts.

Storms level was a bitch but I learned the order and best it every time. I still recall as a kid how I didn’t understand what to do in wolverines stage for the longest time. I really do think Separation Anxiety is better than Maximum Carnage. The difficulty is much more balanced, the enemy AI is better and the controls are tighter. But most importantly, it has co-op, which just instantly elevates it higher than its predecessor. Maximum Carnage's only real advantage is the comic cutscenes. I can't even fully agree that the sprites are worse, since I think the only one that looks worse is Venom. Additionally I have to wonder why you believe that the enemy types are the same. Separation Anxiety has all of Maximum Carnage's enemies, but also introduces a bunch of new Life Foundation enemies, and has entirely new bosses aside from Carnage.

Such a shame maximum carnage wasn't co-op. Also, kinda sad they even reused carnage as the main antagonist/last boss in separation anxiety.

awesome video, i always thought the generic enemies in carnage were terrible
they really made it feel bland, but the boss characters were great, so there was a contrast there, like seeing the reflection of a beautiful girl in a toilet, any way didn't know about the last two games, that was rad to see. as a kid i had arcades revenge, i thought it was really hard, but i believe i was able to get to storms level and get my ass kicked. i think they really dropped the ball with cyclops, his punch is so terrible, i saw a lot of the beginning of the game. an xmen games video would be good

I like Lethal Foes mostly because it feels most like the modern games in gameplay. Maximum Carnage is 2nd due to how much more effort was put into it than Seperation Anxiety... And some parts wall climbing was actually neccessary unlike Seperation Anxiety (as far as I could tell) And SA at #3 because I like Spiderman and Venom and a co-op Beatem up for the spidey universe is actually pretty cool.. Although I'm not gonna lie gets pretty dull and repetitive unless you figure out all your moves and even still.. Your gonna want save states and come back. It's only for the best to take breaks. Lol
