    I love the Theory Wear merch so much, especially compared to other CZcamsr merch because, even when I don’t like a piece enough to go and buy it, I can still see that a lot of care goes into creating it. I see a lot of other CZcamsrs making merch that’s just a solid color T-shirt or hoodie with a small logo no bigger than a chest pocket on it. And it’s so disappointing compared to Theorist Merch with awesome designs, hoodies with thumb holes and the plastic aglets on the draw string, and features created because of community input. Nothing against those other CZcamsrs, the Theorist Team just sets the bar WAY too high. Keep up the great work!

    what makes this theory more terrifying is that the vips imply that there are multiple squid games hosted around the world, “the ones in Korea are always the best” meaning they are pulling this off in MULTIPLE PLACES.

      Well North Korea is just one of many examples. China had been explicitly commiting humanity crimes since forever. Numerous African/South American countries can all be "candidates" to host such games.
      Now that Mat brought light to this, it seems that it is actually quite easy to pull off, with no shortage of location.

    The signing "Jane Dough" could be a reference to one of my favourite books, A Bakeshop Mystery: A death of Passion Fruit. The person who gets killed in the book (Annie) was given the alias 'Jane Doe' because they had no idea who she was at first- and the protagonist's best friend, who is like- my favourite character of ALL TIME, came up with the alias 'Jane Dough'. To put the contract thing simply, contracts don't make things legal. They make them illegal. So with the hot wings example, rather than making the serving of hot wings legal (they always were legal), it's making the suing of the restaurant for damages illegal. And it can only protect the parties involved. So you can't sign saying "I won't sue the restaurant for giving me poison" because that isn't a matter of a lawsuit, it's a matter of the police enforcing a strict LAW. You could ask the police to sign saying "I won't arrest the restaurant owners for poisoning their customer", but they obviously won't sign that.

    Insanely informative. This topic was briefly talked on in Distractable's podcast Dangerous Coasters episode. Love that this goes further in depth. May not be a bad call to just Podcast Theory them lmao. Love all the videos, and I hope to get some merch under my tree this year! Hopefully my wife agrees 🤣

    What happens if someone makes the following somehow possible?
    -Making the games in a super large plane or flying platform that flies in undesignated air spaces
    -Making the games in space where it is extremely difficult to track someone down let alone arrest them.
    -Make the games so far underground that no-one but a multi-trillionaire has access to
    Honestly, I have no idea if any of this is able to work but if a video could be made about it, that would be great. I could not find any evidence showing that any of the above is legal but also no evidence showing that is illegal. I just really want to know.

After some time, my mum looked me that in the eye and said: “Who says that something like this doesn’t exist somewhere?” And it literally throw me off. In addition to this, this video just strengthens the theory. I don’t want to imagine people risking their lives for money somewhere and the people organising everything getting away with it…

    • @dragonsword8247

      A Nautical Mile is 1/60 of a degree of Latitude (N/S), as the distance between degrees Longitude (E/W) change as you travel further North/South, but Latitude is always constant. 1/60 of a degree is called a minute, and is calculated by dividing the circumference of the world at the equator by 360, then dividing that by 60, wherin the answer you get is 1852m (by closest approximation).
      This I learned in my 3 years of sea navigation and my 12 years as a naval navigational officer.
      Also, the "normal mile" or more commonly known as a staute mile was originally described as 5000 paces of a Roman soldier, which through the ages got standardised to 1600m.

    but what about if it was classified as a “job” instead of a game. many jobs have a high risk of death/injuries that are covered by contracts ie the military. i dunno the whole legal ramifications over that but it would be interesting to see if it was reclassified

    • @JoshuaTraumMusic
      @JoshuaTraumMusic Před 2 lety +77

      Workplace OHS laws would apply. An employer must take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of their workers. Games, such as the tug of war round or squid game, require 50% of players to die. This isn’t a “risk of death” - like working on an oil rig - it’s a certainty.

    • @SgtSupaman
      @SgtSupaman Před 2 lety +24

      Jobs are legally required to minimize dangers. There are absolutely investigations with potential criminal charges when somebody dies on a job. The military (in America, at least) is something different, as it is held to the Uniform Code of Military Justice rather than civilian laws, but, even under somewhat different rules, deaths are investigated for any potential criminal activity involved.
      These "squid games" would very clearly not pass as the people running the games implementing appropriate safety measures.

      The more impressive effort is the blinders put on in this video in regards to omittance of China in this discussion. They have literally built up artificial islands in foreign sovereign waters, have concentration camps, modern slavery, actively keep Taiwan from being recognized & joining international organizations, and so much more. To not mention CCP controlled China who is the biggest human rights abuser of all, but to focus on North Korea on human rights abuses instead had to be purposeful. With the large push for their merch (which is almost guaranteed to be made in China) this glaring omission probably has something to do with that it could effect their pocket books. But hey, that's just a theory! A CZcams comment theory!

    • @forgottenplace.8358
      @forgottenplace.8358 Před 2 lety +51

      Well, there's a large amount of managers, soldiers and workers that help the games operate, the building is MASSIVE, and the Squid Games have been running for about 33 years, and apparently the prize for each game is 45.6 billion won, leading up to about 1,504,800,000,000 in the prizes. And because of the stuff I stated before, it's probably somewhere around the levels of billions in US dollars. In the prizes themselves, to USD, that's actually about 1.2 billion.

    Pretty depressing reality check there toward the end and I’m sure that was the point they were trying to get across. But I don’t think it was necessarily pointing at North Korea as a possible center point of the problem. Especially when Sae Byeok is asked whether things are any better for her after having escaped to South Korea. They’re definitely drawing a comparison to say that she probably jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.
