😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

Now they have everything the Japanese cars does but built like crap and out of cheap materials and charge a premium. American cars used to have engines that would last 30 40 50 years. Didn't have to worry about a sensor going bad and everything was rebuildable, adjustable, and refurbishable. 80% of the vehicle was metal. Oh I'm sorry it's safer if a trash can has the possibility to total your car and we're going to charge more for that opportunity. What happened to the days of being able to jack up the car by its bumper? Oh yea that's right, Japanese cars had plastic bumpers that were plastic and looked sleeker so American car makers copied them. American cars used to have stainless trim but they had to follow the Japanese with stick on plastic trim. I can go on

In order to even touch a GM EV at a dealership you have to go through over 100 hours of training, this includes computer training classes and then flying around to one of four training centers in US that have hands on training for EVs, after all that, you get no raise and then forced to work at half time warranty time cause your the only trained EV tech in the building. Most of us older techs refuse to go through all that headache for less money paid on very specialized work. Now try telling the newer kids coming into the industry that in order to touch an EV you have to go through huge amounts of training, no raise, then half labor time cause it's all warranty. They don't want to do it either. So remember not only are EVs more expensive, but you will find more and more places that can't even touch them due to no trained techs. Which will drive the cost of maintenance even higher cause it's such a niche market for techs.

Use to sell Mitsubishi's and had a couple of iMievs on the lot. Unlike modern EVs, we had next to no training on it as it was just super basic. Even with that, they never sold and were just used to drive between a couple of dealer lots. EVs are generally just too expensive and usually offer less on some levels to their ICE counterparts.
No matter how much the government demands it, the market they want for EVs does not exist and likely never will. Especially when they need massive tax incentives to even sell them at all. EVs in general as just a very expensive, more complex solution to a problem that does not exist.

As for there being "no reason" for it: wrong again. Things that don't exist can't break. Also, features controlled through the touchscreen can be added via OTA software update, whereas regular vehicles' features are pretty much frozen at time of manufacture. "But what if the touchscreen fails?" Yeah, that's a problem. Most of the features are also controllable via voice commands, though, so there's a backup workaround to use while waiting for the touchscreen to be repaired.

The perfect situation for a BEV owner is they have two cars. A hybrid and a BEV. BEV for the daily grind, hybris for the weekend/holiday long drives.
They also would want a landed unit for easy homecharging. And electricity must be cheap enough per kwh to justify. Would also be great if solar panels were installed…
And how many people actly fit this description? Not very many😅. And most of them already bought their BEVs by this point.
Coz there are several cases (in comment sections of various socmed platforms atleast) where the BEV owner also owns a stonkin’ fullsize pickup with a giant V8, or some other highpowered gas guzzling monstrosity…
These folks essentially bought their BEVs so they dont have to drive their prized ICE chariots more than neccesary. Its a win-win for these guys.

After steam, in the 1940s came diesel electric locomotives. The Toyota Prius was produced starting in 1997 as a gas hybrid. Edison Motors has now built a hybrid logging truck. All 3 of these technologies that have worked for years have had little to no change in the infrastructure because they are all based on existing technologies. But now we run off and want batteries to do the whole job without a backup plan. And that precivilization is a dead end. E VS without infrastructure are basically junk. The whole world is pushing EVS, and now we see that EVS are Catching Fire "literally." So we have a fire hazard and an infrastructure problem, Plus EV sales are dropping like a proverbial rock.

What will we do with all of the gasoline powered cars if they ever eliminate gasoline? All those junk cars just sitting around will be a lot of pollution. If they really care about the environment, they would push propane and natural gas conversions of gasoline-powered cars. It would cost about $3000 to convert a gasoline car to propane or natural gas; and this would create a huge number of legitimate jobs. And everywhere you go, you can buy refilled propane tanks - the infrastructure is already in place.
This isn't about the environment; it's about locking us down and bankrupting the auto industry.

In some ways for a few seconds i fell sorry for the buyers that were duped into buying an EV.
I have learned that hard and expensive way that you never buy the latest tech until it proves to be viable
and can still be sold and repaired many years after it was made, you can't say that about any EV.

  • @darreno1604
    @darreno1604 Před 11 dny

First: I have a Jaguar diesel, I can not afford an EV.
Second: I put on 10k miles in a year and it lost £10k in trade in value, just let that sink in.
Third: GM went bankrupt in 2009, it sold SAAB, Vauxhall and Opel and has a debt of $122 Billion.
Forth: Ford has a debt of about $149 Billion. These are not small amounts.
The real reason EV have not been adopted by the middle class is because the middle class is gone, there is no middle class any more.
The reason EV sales have halved is because those who wanted or could afford an EV have got one. and they still keep there second hand value more than ICE cars.
Here is the rub, in the next three years Chinese car makers will break in to the world market in huge quantities, because there own market is swamped,
when this happens the price will be substantially cheaper.
That is when the real problems will occur, never mind the charging network, where will all the electricity come from, and what will happen to the current cost of home electricity?
EV's are not going away, they will replace ICE cars, they will become a disposable item just like the mobile phone, all it will take is for the recycling network to function correctly,
once that is in place all the current ICE makers who have not converted will be dead in the water. This is just my own opinion, yours might differ.

A few years back, TOYOTA was the laughing stock, with many predicting their downfall. Fast forward to now, and TOYOTA is having the last laugh. Demand for TOYOTA ICE vehicles, especially Hybrids is so high that customers are willing to wait up to three years to lay their hands on one. At my local dealership here in Victoria, Australia, there isn't a single new TOYOTA available. The salesman informed me that people are even willing to pay extra to jump ahead in the waiting list. While there were a few TOYOTA models in the used car section, they came with hefty price tags. The salesman assured me that if I decided to sell my Camry, it would be snapped up within days. The only way EV's could survive would be to target the second car and budget market, an ultra cheap get me to the shops, school or work and back on a single charge so I only have to charge at home and so cheap no one will want to steal it (an electric Mira or Mini) no bells or whistles (nothing to go horribly wrong) just a basic comfortable interior plenty of carrying space and a range meter (A mum/kid's first car). Even that would still be a challenge because they could still only be sold to people who have somewhere to park and charge them. Going for the luxury market should only have been rolled out after there was sufficient cheap away from home charging. and the little cheap cars had been proven reliable and people were after something EVen better. Oh, and make then easy to repair at home.

. There’s an article by Roger Pielke that came out in Sept 2019 that broke down the math of what would be required to reach net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. The math is pretty simple. The fact is it’s an impossible goal. It’s probably impossible by 2100.
Oil, natural gas and coal are all at record highs for consumption. The only dip in recent years was because of the COVID shutdowns.
I’m all for cleaner sources of energy but the fact is it’s not going to happen unless it’s economically feasible. EV’s for the most part aren’t.
Here’s something else to keep in mind is that they are predicting that 1 to 1.5 billion people in 3rd world countries will be moving away from burning wood and animal dung to fuels such as natural gas.
