Idk I have only player career mode in UFC games and what they have said is exciting to me. Refined focus on onboarding and having a real fight week, different kind of training in an actual professional gym. This changes career mode drastically. I’m excited but I also don’t expect that much.
What they NEED more than anything is an in-depth career mode. They need to include heavy character customization (UFC 4 lacked this), in-depth career mode with an economy, things to improve skills/character appearance with money earned from fights, and an actual story-line driven career that brings you from The Ultimate Fighter as a created character, with voice-over work from teammates and rivalries inside TUF, as well as between camps, broader social media use that actually has more use than it did in UFC 4, etc. There's so many good possibilities and EA has shown time and time again that they're just lazy. Graphics and animations overhaul shouldn't be the exception, it's the standard for a new game after this many years without one. Include a thorough, in-depth career and online mode.
The worst thing they take 3 years to make a game, but their effort is so low… 🤦🏻♂️ you can allow something like this if you release the game early, but 3 years and barely any changes?…
At this point that's asking too much for EA. And they won't see a reason to improve or take risks if people keep rushing out to buy the "newest" version of whatever game they put out.
Exactly what we need man, I crave this. The main reason I even play ufc is because career mode where you actually earn something. I would be amazed if EA got off their asses and actually could make something BIG like this happen in the next game, which will probably take 4 years at this point.
I personally don't want a full blown story. I'd prefer cutscenes, rivalries, and rewards to be triggered by performance. For example, a rivalry would trigger if you beat someone who beat you. This will give you cutscenes dedicated to the rivalry and your choices in the build up decide how heated it is.
Since the game is coming out next month. I think they should drop a few dlc story modes for like $10 a pop. One could be a Juvenile badass kid, straighten up a little and goes on a UFC Run, another could be like a all collegiate wrestler that blew out his knee and goes on a UFC Journey.. that’d be dope..
I’m 100% excited for career mode. They are changing / adding to everything I disliked about offline career. I have done UFC 4 career mode like 10 times goated, that’s all I do.
UFC4 career mode was good, I just want more advanced and aware responses from the community in terms of the social media pop ups. That insight on a UFC fighter and getting to react to the community is ultimately what makes the mode fun to begin with. So more unique responses to your performance, previous fights being brought up when fans argue, just getting to experience the toxicity of UFC fans😭
@@Kekdmcmc ehh, I just fought my last fight with the Fedor Emelianenko I created and seeing the cutscenes again they definitely didn’t try. But outside of cinematics the mode was good, you get fan response, create rivalries and get to take diff routes to the UFC.

Not sure how anyone else feels about this conceptual outline of this game so far, and I understand not every aspect has been revealed thus far and the gameplay upon release once delved into will of course shed the real light on the quality... But the only things I'm hyped about hearing is the changes to the grappling, ground and submission system, the 60 fps, fight animation changes, doctor stoppages and the graphics in general. As far as the news about having sponsors, stand and bang career and social media making a return etc... Doesn't impact my intrigue level much at all. These are things that, however, would, atleast as far as career mode goes ( which imo is the bread and butter of these games which needs a major shift in paradigm and structure) : interactive press conferences. One thing about prior career modes in ufc is the lack of immersion. Is it still fun? Absolutely, to an extent. There's nothing that screams " non-linear" and " immersion" more than interactive press conferences where what u say can actually effect things as far as hype, fan reception and even how the other fighters perceive u and treat u as an individual. I simply want to see more life outside of " train, read unimaginative social media posts and fight". What about even being able to go to a gym and workout? As in having miniature versions of free roam , then walking around the gym being able to talk to other fighters/ ppl that are there in general. Or being placed in a small ( at the least) or even moderate- large city u are able to free roam kind of like NBA 2k. Or be able to have an apartment and things to spend ur hard earned fight money on. I'm not saying go full on RPG ( though I would not mind it to an extent lol) but just the littlest details can add so much more life and intrigue to the game. I want to feel like I am that fighter, not staring at the same dull screens and moving between 2 locations ( training gym and ufc cage) repetitively. There is so much more that can be done and I know damn well they can pull it off. Look at FIFA or NBA 2k series, just more immersion and attention to detail man, coupled with a bit of expansiveness. Would make me so happy to see some sort of version of what I am speaking on. Sure a lot of ppl would agree as well.

Guess I'll take quicker and more responsive transitions over nothing at all but I think most of us were hoping for a whole new grappling system

Of course revamped is what needs to be done, I completely agree, the ground, grappling and even clinch system in UFC 4 was laughable, literally it was so astonishingly bad one might assume it was a joke at first and that they would update swiftly to demonstrate the real system. Unfortunately it turned out to be seemingly broken beyond repair...I do believe that the ground game in UFC 5 being " faster and more intense" will be a significant upgrade, considering the way grappling on the ground in 4 seemed like it was in slow motion. The characters' transitions and movements in general all seemed block-like and staticky, and the lack of offensive/defensive combat options was unbelievable ( elbows to list very importantly). If they added ( as they claimed) more output on the ground as well as a faster input from controller press to visual move effect, as well as more realistic animations and punch/ knee/elbow damage impact ( remember how in UFC 4 u could just wail on someone repeatedly from postured position and it seemed like it took wayyy to long to deal significant damage and/ or knock them out?) Along with graphics improvement and swifter fluent movements, id say that will be FAR better than UFC 4. I think they just mean the underlying concept and way to go about doing things will be essentially the same, however there is a lot of room there even with that being a thing and it seems anyway that they filled a lot of it. Only time will tell tho, when we are actually in game and experiencing it ya know?

Simulate training is the worst news I could hear. Why should I buy a fighting game when they remove one of the basics of fighting sports, which is training and improving and replace it with a simulation? and even more when it's supposed to be a realistic fighting game. You’re confusing story mode with a career mode. Fight Night champion had a story mode and a career mode, the career mode didn’t have any story to it at all. The last thing I would want is for them to change the career mode to a story mode, I hate the idea of a set path for my fighter.
Personally I’m an online PVP player, I was pretty decent at one point breaking into the top 100 and spending 500/700 hours ish each on EA UFC 1, 2, and 3, however ufc 4 I managed just 31 hours as I thought the mechanics were total garbage and for the first time never got into it, so I’m apprehensive about UFC 5 and probably won’t preorder till I see the mechanics and what everyone is saying, such a shame as EA have really gone down hill IMO and I’ve lost confidence, when the devs are getting exited about telling us all about the in game social media features and not the raw fight mechanics I worry.

Personally I’m an online PVP player, I was pretty decent at one point breaking into the top 100 and spending 500/700 hours ish each on EA UFC 1, 2, and 3, however ufc 4 I managed just 31 hours as I thought the mechanics were total garbage and for the first time never got into it, so I’m apprehensive about UFC 5 and probably won’t preorder till I see the mechanics and what everyone is saying, such a shame as EA have really gone down hill IMO and I’ve lost confidence, when the devs are getting exited about telling us all about the in game social media features and not the raw fight mechanics I worry.
