Oh the irony in John Carroll’s vote. Yeah remember Gabe? Remember the coconut challenge? Yeah.
I was 16 when Vee won, really wanted Neleh to win but Vee really played a better game.
It was pretty close in my opinion. Neleh had more to over come being raised so naively into adulthood while Vecepia came in with more of an survival instinct and was much stronger of a person. Neleh trusted the word of Rotu and was argubly another Gabe. Vecepia enjoyed that low radar, pretty complacent even at times. Going to the F5 with whom she did was questionable because she has to know it was a tough squeeze to get to the end. Vecepia played a great final episode definitely. Neleh doesn't get enough credit for flipping the game at the merge. It wasn't in Neleh up to that point of her life to betray and backstab and Survivor still had that air of honesty is rewarded and being a team player is better. Neleh had to go against that and get Pascal to flip the game on the Rotu 4. It's also pretty impressive she had somebody who would without question go to rocks for her and then had to win herself in the final 2. Vecepia has the majority of the fanbase behind her, but this fan doesn't always agree with them. Imo they were about equal.

OTOH, it signifies that those players who didn’t ask them questions already decided which player they were voting for to win.
I had it ready for upload but I can't remember why I didn't.... I think the audio was jacked so I moved on and never rerecorded it.
Everyone knew Sean was voting for vecepia & paschal was voting for neleh
Neleh was probably the closest to winning out of all losers no? That was a tight 4 to 3 vote. Like Shii Ann seemed pretty dead set on Amber, but this vote especially John's was a photo finish.
The Yul/Ozzy vote was also super close as both were deemed equally as deserving to win.
I like to say John had the deciding vote of this season….

Why the hell was Sean never brought back for another season?
This took place just 5 days before Christmas in 2001.
Yeah marquesas was also filmed right after the September 11th attacks this season originally was supposed to take place in Arabia however after the September 11th attacks & the political situation in the Middle East after that this season was moved to the marquesas because Kate hall one of the cast members who is also the daughter of cinematographer Conrad hall owned part of the marquesas islands
