A great aria from a not too well-known operetta. I really liked the way Yvonne Kenny opened this performance of it. She lingered and wrapped herself around each note to allow the chorus and orchestra (and herself) to flow through and bring the piece to a fine conclusion.
My understanding is that this was added to The Merry Widow as a finale by Maestro Richard Bonynge because he felt the actual conclusion to The Widow just fades off and this would have been the perfect way for Dame Joan Sutherland to conclude it. She hit higher notes at the end than Ms. Kenny. Well worth looking for it on CZcams. There is a superb recording. The orchestrations featured here are by Douglas Gamley who also did the arrangements for Miss Sutherland. The keychange which is here at 1.41 are different to Mr. Gamley's although this one works very nicely as well.
Yvonne Kenny does a magnificent job with this gorgeous Lehar song; however, this is the finale of "The Merry Widow" that the SF and LA Operas did in the mid-2000's. They interpolated this aria from "Paganini" into "The Merry Widow". Susan Graham and Carol Vaness sang the title role in LA.

I really enjoyed this production by SF Opera. I purchased the DVD and have enjoyed seeing it several times. I think Ms. Kenny was great in this role.
