For some reason, I like these a lot (although I'd rather get the RLX.) I think as you get older, there's something to be said for _STEALTH_ as well as reliability. I mean, literally nobody will notice you when you're driving a grey Acura, yet you will still be traveling inside of a *very* comfortable vehicle, with some power (V6) and total reliability.
I currently own a '12 TL Advance and will eventually get a TLX. I've owned 6 Acuras and have loved all of them. I follow Acura very closely and have read recently that big things are ahead with Acura sedans. I'm eagerly waiting.
The dual screen is brilliant. If you're using the navigation you can still tinker with the settings.
I don't usually comment on videos, but wanted to say that I appreciate all the hard work you put into your reviews. Keep up the good work!
I own a 2015 Acura T. L.X. six cylinder sedan and so far I am satisfied...The car is fast,
smooth, stable and has decent trunk space...It is by far the most modren space age car
that I have ever owned....The safety features are impressive as well...My last Acura was
a 2001 Acura C.L. coupe with a six banger under the hood... If by some miracle I find a
good one it will be real hard to resist.....They have a great reputation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate the feedback. If you visit quotes.everymandriver.com you can see the best deals/prices on new cars/trucks in your zip code! It’s a free search engine and it’s Everyman Driver Approved!
Thanks for the review, I might be getting this car as I am going out of town for university.
Nice reviews!
Great Review Dave!!! How did you like the 9sp auto? I have heard many complain about how it shifts. Did you use the autostop function? If so, was it smooth.
Love your reviews Dave! And when you and your wife are hilarious!!! You should do more reviews together
this car looks great inside and out ..
I LOVE THAT TLX! I HAD A TL AND LOVED IT, BIG Acura Fan here! I had my most Favorite is the V6 2010 Acura TSX , 280 Hp in a TSX Body, WOW it was a Bimmer Crusher. 0-60 5.6 i had on a track. Only down fall it had a 5 Speed auto and no Six speed Manual. It did have the Paddle shifters in sport mode. I also YeS I also going across the country ended up getting 36 mpg on the V6 TSX 2010, How Did I do that ? I put it in Sport mode so it opened up the intake then set it in is top gear and whala! Loved it Miss it Traded in for an RDX ( Had Kids).
I love the background music in your videos!
+Nikhil Kalra Thank you, I like to keep it entertaining (if possible) - Dave, Everyman Driver
+Everyman Driver , do you have plans to post any video like 2016 Accord EXL-V6 VS TLX SH AWD ?
i am glad you are review acura tlx thank you so much
+Fun Activity Learning Math You're welcome.
Great reviews! Everyman Driver do you have a video comparing AWD systems? I'd love to see a video comparing. SH-AWD, Quattro, That BMW thing, Benz,Subaru, etc. when I take cars out I find audi's system is pretty BA.
The comment about the maps in the rear pocket is hilarious. I don't think I'm that old but yes that's what those pockets are for maps, books, loose kid junk etc. still cracking up !!
+nidog Love it... I've since changed it to 'ipads' or 'tablets' :-) - Dave, Everyman Driver
+Everyman Driver
haha great Love your reviews btw. Big fan
Because you have fog lights and the laser cruise control button on the steering wheel, I think you have the the advance model with shawd . Not just the technology.
When's the snowy off road review coming? Lol
Dave....how is the driving dynamics of the TLX compared to the other luxo brand?
I love Dave's smile! He is so smiley and friendly. I would love to be friends with him!!
Acura needs to expand their lineup to compete in the luxury car market!
I have this same car but 2015. It's a total sleeper... people constantly get stupid looks on their face when they get left behind at lights and highway ramps.
How is the 9spd dog clutch transmission? I had the 2015 as a loaner and when I downshifted from higher gears it's would lurk forward which I did not like at all
Just test drove this car today, Acura TLX SH AWD Elite and it is frigging AWESOME!!! I'm thinking about getting the Acura TLX SH AWD but I don't know the difference with the Elite. Also, it is $45,000 (not Elite) and the Lexus IS 300 is $48,000 (rounded up both prices). So $3,000 dollars more for the Lexus IS 300. Which one should I get? Help. Note, prices are in Canadian dollars.
MPG: You must be lead-footing it, Dave!
OMG, is that a volume knob on the dashboard ?
I Want You to do the ACURA MDX 2016 REVIEW PLEASE!!!
+Fun Activity Learning Math I will for sure this coming year.
How was it in the snow?
I don't see why people comlpained about the dual screens i can actually see how that would be useful. One can probably be easily replaced with a DVD player just for starters.
if you live in the south or west coast get the front wheel drive. up north you definitely need a awd!!!
hi Dave. Would you recommend 2016 RDX or 2016 TLX V6 after you try both of them? i am hesitated by those two.
+Jason Qian RDX for me - Dave, Everyman Driver
The TLX in the video is a TLX SH-AWD Advance and not just the Tech package and it starts at around $45k
Hello Everyman driver, I own a 2015 TLX SH-AWD with rough shifting problems I was wondering if your tester car has that problem?
+solarwind1980 interesting - good to know
Anyone know where I can get a plow attachment for my TLX? This car is so good in the snow , I was thinking of doing some snow plowing on the side for some cash . ROFL
I’m about to buy a used 2016 Acura TL 66,000mi …is this basically the same as 2016 TLX …it’s v6 $25,000….is this a good purchase
The interior looks too much like my mom's 2009 Lexus ES 350 mixed with my Accord Ex-L's interior. Acura needs to refresh that interior and add the Lanewatch camera. That is such a cool feature that my Accord has that Acura should use as well.
Daniel Estrada no, no, I mean it kind of looks like the accord interior but not the lexus es 350, that es interior is for really for old people like you mom.
I just dont understand why you don't do an acceleration or let us here the engine close to redline?
Here we are 6 years later and I’m looking to possibly get a used Acura…still a bargain to be had…if you look hard enough ;).
If you want to know the best deal on the current model in your zip code, check out: quotes.everymandriver.com/?gid=0000-4024
@@everymandriver I’m in Canada 🇨🇦. They’re still around here though :)
You have to show the jewel eye headlights and LED taillights too!
+Papa Sean (Dr.) I did show those features in the video... what are you referring to?
+Everyman Driver Maybe I must've missed it. But I wanted to see the DRL, headlight on a wall at night and LED tail lights in action. It's kind of miscellaneous, but it's something that's unique to each manufacturer.
How does insurance work when you borrow these cars?
Do you use your own or is it like renting a car?
+drink15 The cars are insured but I have insurance too.
where is the ORV segment?
+George Washington LOL
For the next video could you be able to do an Audi A6?
+Akshar Patel I'll see what I can do with my local Audi dealer. Thank you - Dave, Everyman Driver
+Everyman Driver S6 would be even more awesomerlol
2016 Chrysler 300 review please.
+Anakin Paez Ok!
Problem with Acura is it doesn't do enough to set itself apart from Honda, especially this TLX vs Accord Touring. It definitely doesn't set itself apart from Lexus and Infiniti. This can really be seen in the interior. Tech wise it's falling behind too but it still has it's AWD going for it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car but it's more of a premium brand than luxury now. Many buyers would probably be just as happy with the Accord Touring and save themselves the $7000+ vs this. Then again, people love names. Why else would they buy an A3/Jetta.
FYI... This is not Tech model, but Advance package model, so the pricing point is incorrect as well as some of the features.
+mlody me Thank you - Dave, Everyman Driver
You think a 2016 Acura tlx with 111,000 miles for $14,000 is worth the buy?
Can find the awd v6 GT package
Can't **
cali plates in snow?.
hmm
automatic manual dual clutch transmission??
+lstephenson247 Here's my full article and more info on the car: www.everymandriver.com/new-car-review-2016-acura-tlx-3-5l-sh-awd-on-everyman-driver/
Best car ever
I noticed there is no spare tire. where is that?
Good luck finding one on a new car
+Applekid it's still pretty common in a lot of new cars.
hot, good-looking guy, I mean car😉
Not enough calves
Not much talk on actual driving impressions :\
+ThousanWhite I'm thinking about dropping that element... after all, shouldn't your decision be based on YOUR driving impressions, not mine? I'd love your thoughts?
I'm just saying, you mentioned Driving Impressions in the video and I really didn't see that. Kinda led me on a little. No big deal I guess.
1st
Automatics should be levers not buttons. Put some manual transmissions. Cmon Acura get your game together
Looks like an old Nissan
Honda should just drop Acura already. It's below Lexus, Infiniti, and Genesis. It's barley second tier Asian luxury at this point. I know they introduced a new design language at Detroit. But unless they invest alot of Honda resources and of course money. Then why bother at this point.
Genesis even though a brand new luxury brand is so much more organized and well invested both financially and with top tier talent from Lambo, BMW, Audi, and Bentley. All are former presidents, design heads, and chief engineers, They are going to cannibalize alot of the sales in terms of the Asian luxury players in time. Hell the former BMW M chief engineer is working on N performance versions before the regular versions come out as we speak. Not to mention that Lotus now tunes all of their cars as well. Both Hyundai Brand & Genesis Brand alike.
+Herc Zeus Interesting information
vader11111 Same with Volvo. Which is now owned by the Chinese. Only 4 Cylinder engines from now on.
vader11111 LOL!
+vader11111 Have you heard about the new nsx maybe?
+vader11111 and you need it rwd cause? your going drifting in it? your track driving it? drag racing? why exactly is it that a luxury vehicle needs rwd so badly. fwd is a much better platform for a normal non-sports car and you have the option of a 4wd so it does what it should do. and 377hp from a 6cyl isn't enough you need the 2extra cyl for? why not condemn them all for not being 10 or 12cyl cause we all need lots and lots of cylinders just cause cylinders.
Nice Dave, but c'mon, Kia, Acura, Honda, Hyundai - it's always the same old makes. You're American! How about reviewing some American cars? The reason Americans keep buying that import crap is because auto journalists are always reviewing them - you guys have such fantastic cars we don't get here in South Africa - hellcats, camaro, cadillac, ford taurus/explorer to name a few - we only just got the Mustang here in RHD and who knows, I might even buy one just because its American - but American auto journalists need to be a little more patriotic to their own brands than to was lyrical about the Korean/Japanese imports - imports here are everywhere and they're boring - ever new model is like a new loaf of bread, same old ingredients with a few new "old" ingredients added to copy the others. American cars are very good (I had a CTS for the brief period GM imported them here in RHD and loved that car!). Now I drive a Jaguar XF because the Cadillacs aren't really supported in aftersales service anymore and its dangerous to own one now in a shortage of parts situation. Having said all that, I love your videos, love your show and even though you're reviewing mostly cars I don't like, I still watch them because you're pretty thorough. It would be nice for your to review the switch gear though, like the feel of the door handles (flimsy or solid?), the tactile feel of the buttons on the steering wheel, sound system, air-con controls (plasticy, soft or positive in action when depressed) - basically, to convey the feeling of the car that we as viewers can't feel - we can see what you see, but we can't feel and smell what you do - so it would be nice for you to convey this through your videos. Keep up the good work and start working on getting those American brands to hand over some cars to do themselves proud ;)
+Hilton Camons I just secured a partnership with another local dealership to showcase more variety... they won't be "REVIEWS" but they will be good :-)
+Hilton Camons So only GM and Ford from now on? Because Chrysler isn't American owned company anymore. Hasn't been for years. It's a Italian owned now. Before that it was German owned.
And Jaguar (Which you drive) and Land Rover are owned by a company from India. And Volvo is owned by the Chinese now.
P.S. Imports are not crap. Imports like Hyundai/Kia/Genesis and Honda/Acura are well below GM and Ford in terms of recalls. And they are far more reliable than GM & Ford. The research and data supports this.
And the Taurus and Explorer are from from fantastic. And I think anyone would agree with me on that one. Fleets and government services like the Police mostly drive the Taurus because they practically give them away in North America.
+Herc Zeus Jaguar may be owned by Tata (one of the biggest companies in the world), but its still built in the UK and designed by Ian Callum who is also British.
+Everyman Driver Thanks Dave. A bit of criticism is not necessarily a bad thing - just want a bit more variety done in your style ;)
Hilton Camons I know who it's owned by. I follow the auto field religiously. Have so for decades.
But since you slam the Korean cars maybe you should know that they are designed by Germans (Former head of Audi design, Former head of Bentley design) engineered by Germans (Former head engineer of BMW M division), and track proven in Germany by Lotus Cars. The Genesis brand is run by the former president of Lambo.
And they support and employ Americans. They have 2 factories in the USA. While your beloved Jaguar and Land Rover have none in the States.
P.S. You still put money in India's pocket by the way. While the Koreans have put more money in America's pocket than India ever will. Now and in the future.
The back pockets can probably supplement as iPad/tablet holders nowadays Dave.
+UNMsmith Excellent point... I'll start saying that... if that's ok?
+Everyman Driver: sure thing Dave!
