Dwight has such a unique voice and his own style. It's like flashes of Elvis in country form. Dwight just kinda did his thing, wasn't mainstream country necessarily and didn't care. And I absolutely love the sound of his band! The overall sound is just awesome!!

Dwight is a legend because he invented his own " style" of country music. He went his "own way" it's called "hillbilly deluxe",, Country music today would not be what it is without it, and his influence..

As I recall the train was going through the desert in the southwest somewhere. That video is 30 years old at least. I remember it well, as I was going through a divorce at the time.
Dwight cleans up good for a Kentucky boy. Extremely talented songwriter, singer, performer, and he's even had an acting career. Any of his own songs are great but he also covered Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds". That version and video are outstanding.
Oooohhhh gurl....I am obsessed with Dwight!!! Seen him 2 times live and he does not disappoint! I even have his picture hanging in my kitchen (where I spend most of my time)! I love his song "Nothing" which doesn't get requested alot but it should! His song "Waterfall" showcases his amazing voice and is so simple and whimsical It needs to be the version captured In the Live Room with his band The 3 Pears! Talk about swag!!! Love from Texas🤠🤠🤠

My second favorite country artist behind Alan Jackson. Have listened to him since high school also, so over 30 years. My wife got some free tickets to see him a few years back from some friends that couldn't go. I was super excited, she knew he was one of my favorites. Went to the concert, he did not play a single song anywhere close to the recorded version. I get doing a few different maybe because you have been doing them over and over for so long and get worn out, but every one? i myself like to sing along with them and i just really couldn't do that. Glad i got to see him live, but it wasn't a great experience for me. If the tickets wouldn't have been free, i would have been very upset. Anyway, still love his music. Saw your review of Alan Jackson at George Jones funeral, you should look up Dwight's performance of "In the Garden" that he did at Buck Owens funeral, just beautiful!
Dwight’s swagger comes from his days punk rock and his acting in movies. By the way, this movie theme song is one of my favorites of his.
His contribution to the opening sequence in Wedding Crashers is straight comedic gold.
Dwight also has his own biscuit mix brand.
As for another cracking Dwight track, "Ain't That Lonely Yet", is an ultimate post-breakup 'you can keep kicking rocks' mantra, and is so incredibly smooth and infectious. Even my English wife, without a lick of country music background immediately gravitated towards it for a personal playlist.

I preferably don't like singers that try to physically perform. I came to hear good music, not watch somebody try to dance around (often times poorly amongst a group) then try to sing poorly. It's like they use all that dancing to try to compensate for their bad music or singing.
But if your able to do it alone and well like Dwight, and not have it negatively effect your singing, I can enjoy it.
