- Both chicks have been strengthening their flying muscles in anticipation of their maiden flight. The breezy conditions have been perfect for both youngsters to get a feel of the uplift their wings provide and practice the skill of beating their wings.
Both have been jumping about on the nest, with elder chick PF4 managing a steady helicopter. The question is who will be courageous enough to fledge first and when?

Thank you, from Nova Scotia. Our osprey have different looks, but oh ... I have loved these fish hawks since I was a child. It's wonderful to see this. Love & light!
How amazing must that feel when you actually take off & hover under your own steam. Stay safe the pair of you.
Look at me! No look at me !! 😂😂 I love watching them do their wingercising
Always on edge of my perch at this time. 😊
Was watching them today (8th July). PF4 made several helicopter manoeuvres today and sat on the perch on the far side of the nest for a while. I think there's a very good chance that she'll be flying tomorrow. PF5 is just that bit further behind in his development. Lots of wing flapping exercises and little jumps, but nothing more than that yet.
What happened to the live stream
Following a torrential rain storm the livestream was knocked out a few times - it should be fine now, just make sure you refresh your page.
Were they getting their blue socks?
