Many years ago I was sitting in the VIP area at a Billy Idol gig at Wembley Arena (it's a long story) and was sitting next to George and Elton! They were two of the nicest guys I've ever met (and, yes, I've met the lovely Dave Grohl). They were great friends but they included me, just a nobody, in their conversation - they had no massive rock star egos. Despite not being a Billy idol fan, it was one of the best nights of my life. RIP George.

One of Eltons' greatest songs. George Michael had one of the best voices in music, his voice "live" is better than most singers do in a studio. Both of these are also very generous men who both gave millions to charities. You should check out George singing "Somebody To Love" with Queen at the Freddie tribute concert

George wrote a song for Elton that was supposed to appear on George’s album called Trojan souls. He never finished that album because he was in a dispute with Sony and he didn’t want to give them anything. He shelled that album but there’s a part of me that wishes it would’ve been released because he also had a duet with Janet Jackson on that album. We’ll never know the beautiful music that was on it but no doubt since it was his album it was beyond brilliant. George did background vocals for Elton’s hit Nikita. It would’ve been great for them to collaborate on another song together. In my opinion George’s voice is like no others. And the fact that this man could sing in any style of music and sound absolutely beautiful was such a gift. Check out his other duets. He did one with Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Toby Burke, Aretha Franklin, Queen, Muyta Buena, and Astrid Gilberto which was sung in Portuguese.

Two amazing legends! This duet, in my opinion, is the best of all time. Their voices complement each other so beautifully. Their voices both have a rich tone. Sir Elton John is always going to be the best at singing his songs but this song was perfect for George Michael’s voice. I would have loved to have heard this two talented men do another duet! Growing up I listened to all kinds of music but my favorite artists are like these two men. I grew up listening to great artists like Elvis Presley, Beatles/John Lennon, Frankie Valley and The Four Seasons, Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, Sir Elton John, and George Michael, with so many others. George Michael may have died but his music definitely will live on.

In a time when 90% of the music is just garbage, there actually was a time not so very ago when artists like George Michael and Elton John made some of the best, most heartfelt music in history. Auto-tune and lip-sync were unheard of and not needed, because real voices and instruments ruled the day...Many of today's artists might be remembered for a decade or two....George's and Elton's music will be listened to as long as there are people still around to hear it...RIP George!

      You are wrong here
Then in this tour of george michael called cover to cover tour.
Elton john was the one who had problems with drugs.
It was a tough time for him
George michael after a long and several times, finally he convinced Elton to be part of it.
And by the way it's well documented.
I've seen an old report talking about the huge success of this duets
And among the people who talked about it, was sting, and how happy he was, to see elton coming back and the support he's got from george.
George michael drugs problem came a long after that when his partner died, and then suddenly his mother got concert and died too
Then it begun the toughest period of george.he was escaping these harsh realities, 1st when he finally found a lover suddenly he was taking from him very quickly, and the song jesus to a child talking about it, then the second bad news fell, that his beloved mom got skin concert. And how elton tried to be supportive with george but he failed.

“Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” is a song written by Elton John and his lyricist Bernie Taupin. The song was originally recorded in 1974 by Elton John for his studio album, Caribou.

Originally an Elton John song. George Micheal elevated it w ith this live vocal and interpretation. Elton sounded great too.

Loved your reaction! When I listen to Elton John singing this song alone in recent performances with George Michael’s picture in the background I cry... I cry my heart out when The performance is not interrupted by “Ladies and gentle men, Mister Elton John” and then the audience go crazy 😭to me, this is part of the lyrics and I just cannot deal with it not being there anymore more!

It goes without saying that these two entertainers achieved greatness in their respective careers and their collaboration in this performance was second to none. But your reaction was as rewarding to me as seeing the concert footage. Loved watching it! ❤

I seem to remember that this was George's concert and Elton came on for this number, the first time he had performed in at least a year having been off with throat issues. That's why the huge cheer for Elton when he was announced. But then, I could be wrong.

They are both so unique. You know immediately who each one is when you hear them. I love them both but am a HUGE Elton fan and his voice here is so powerful. It really is a tie I guess.

Another good choice Jayy, this first became a hit for Elton John back in 1974, and then many years later George Michael started doing it in his shows.. but when they got together to do it for this video it made it a hit all over again!!! You make the best choices bright eyes, keep up the good work and I'll be looking for the next one
