There is no greater Artistry than having the simplicity to sit alone at a piano... & SANGIN' your brains out! Those are the Real Ones! The True Ones. The Talented Ones.
Let’s not forget to acknowledge Bernie Taupin’s lyrics. What a team they were. I love Levon, Empty Sky, Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting, Madmen Across The Water. So many. This is a great version of Madmen. czcams.com/video/E2LUWFptNCM/video.html
YES!! Bernie Taupin & Elton were a true dynamic duo. They must be mentioned together in any conversation of great musical minds
One of my college friends is a huge Elton fan and a pianist himself. He went on to become a successful TV producer in the states with his own shows and has met Elton numerous times 💙🎶✊
Beautiful song. Also check out "Your Song". It's so beautiful
I play "Your Song" "Danial" "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" "Goodbye Norma Jean" on the acoustic guitar. great songs!!!
@@peterkelley4346 I named my son Daniel for that Elton song
Great scene in "Almost Famous" when this song is playing. How about "Candle in the Wind?"
I'll take the liberty to suggest, and link this one, based on candle in the wind, where his emotion is very clear in his voice and face for a terrible reason...czcams.com/video/dg_MIysNGIU/video.html
“Your Song” is one of the best love songs ever.
Some time this year if possible a Elton John marathon on the cards with over 4 decades making hits the choices are endless.
Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting
Your Song
Crocodile Rock
Philadelphia Freedom
Candle In The Wind ( Both Versions )
Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me ft George Michael
I'm Still Standing
Etc.
"Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" is epic.
My favorite. Starts off slow & build-up to complete awesomeness!
My favorite too
The live version from “Here and There” is incendiary!
@@MB-mw1xr everytime he performed it live, he always made it so epic!
This is my favorite song by him by far.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Bennie And The Jets are two more Elton classics ❤️
Try "Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting", "Your Song" or "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
Bennie and the Jets
I’ve always enjoyed him. “Your Song and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” are a couple good songs
"Crocodile Rock", "Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting", Benny And The Jets", "Levon" are just a few of my favorites. Oh yeah, "Your Song" got to see him live when this was his first hit. 🤔😎🤗
Yessss- some great ones! Also love his version of “Pinball Wizard.”
I once jammed my finger playing air-piano to Bennie and the Jets. 😂
I always liked Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
LOL--Levon and Saturday night all right for fighting are my other top two Elton John songs after Rocket man and Benny and the Jets. Great reaction video.!
I've seen Elton 4 times and he always sound better live...
It was really incredible to hear him just doing this solo on the piano. The recorded version is absolutely epic, but this was wonderful in its own right.
I love how happy his performance makes you 🤗
She's all smiles 😊
@@scarletjohnston741 and great smile :)
@@IshwaraYogaNET indeed 😁
Great early Elton from 1971. Love this just Elton and The piano. Love ...'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word'.. beautiful Elton John song both music and lyrics! I think you'd love it!♥️🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
“Madman Across the Water” & “Indian Sunset “ are two phenomenal Elton John songs.
That too!!
IMO Madman Across the Water and Tumbleweed Connection are the quintessential Elton John albums. Although - Your Song should be included as well.
@@lynnarthur1411 Those are my two favorites. Amazing they came out back to back, they sound like two different artists. Madman is so British and Tumbleweed is very southern/American
That Mick Ronson outtake of madman from tumbleweed sessions. Holy crap, face melting.
I have loved Madman album since l bought it nearly 50 years ago. Just love every song, including Holiday Inn and Razor Face which are not mentioned in comments too often.
Some songs just trigger goosebumps they're so good. I don't know what makes a song do that, but this is one of them :D
Funeral for a friend ........my fav EJ song
"Your Song" is my fave. ❤
My all-time favorite of his is “Levon.” I don’t know why but I just... I love it so much.
"Tiny Dancer" and "Levon" both have always seemed really special to me.
@@PongGod “He was born a pauper to a pawn, on a Christmas Day, when the New York Times, said, God was dead”......Alvin Tostag, had a son, todayyyyyy.....It’s my favorite, as well.
My favorite too
There’s a live version of Levon that is possibly better than the record version.
Me too.
Great choice. It's no surprise that Elton John has had such longevity from his first hit your song to epic songs such as Daniel, benny and the jets, sad songs, still standing, nikita, sacrifice, this is why they call it the blues,Etc. One of my favourite solo artists of all time 😊
"The Way you look tonight" by Elton John is my favorite
My 19 year old nephew is just discovering Elton. He has been one of the soundtracks of my life. Lucky enough to have seen him in concert many times including Dueling Pianos with Billy Joel. Amazing.
Jesus he is so great. Love older Elton like this. Gifted.
Circle of Life from Lion King is one of my favourite songs or his duet with George Michael, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
One of my fav Elton John songs is Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me. It’s amazing...💜 Great reaction!
This song was written about his writing partners wife at the time my favorite song is sacrifice keep it going jayy
See the movie Almost Famous where this song is sang on the bus by the cast.
Benny and the Jets is one of my favorite Elton John songs.
Madman across the water album..... I think his best.....fav song by Elton SOMEONE SAVED. MY LIFE TONIGHT
Saturday Night’s Alright for Fightin’!
Probably his most rock type of song 🎵 🎶
All the Girls Love Alice, Candle in the Wind, Your Song, Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, Daniel, so many great tunes on his first ten albums!
Love your reactions! Elton John is a musical genius. Such a talent. Daniel is perhaps my favorite song of his. But this was a great one too. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is fantastic too (and of course you’ve already listened to Rocketman, which is amazing). And you are so right about his voice and his ability to perform live! He is a rare rare talent. He truly stands out as one of the great song composers/performers of all time.
Jayy, I grew up on Elton’s music. I was lucky enough to attend his farewell concert in 2018. I can’t even begin to describe it. He is so amazing! He’s not one to talk and joke around (except his costumes), pure professional just plays his music for the crowd. Hit after hit after hit! Thank you for your reaction, it was exactly what I would expect!! Glad to see you enjoy it!
We saw the farewell tour in Houston, Dallas & LA Staples Center. Amazing!!
“Don’t let the sun go down on me” and “Sacrifice” two of my favorite Elton John songs! He always brings the passion and emotion with each song!
Love the first one, can't stand the second one! 😉 I've been an Elton John fan for 50 years ( like a lot of people). I've bought nearly all his albums, l suppose if you asked all his fans to name their favourite Elton song you'd hear many different tunes. My favourites are The Ballard of Danny Bailey, Levon, Harmony, Tiny Dancer. Of course he (and Bernie of course) wrote so many great songs you'd have a list a mile long!
never heard this live version before, it's really true to the recorded version. thanks for sharing your review. keep up the great reviews!
"Your Song" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
"Daniel" "Levon" "Pinball Wizard" These are my three favorite Elton John songs. I hope you enjoy them, they're timeless.
Anything on Madman is fantastic, my favourite Elton album. I think my favourite song of his is The Ballad of Danny Bailey, have loved that song since first hearing it.
There is no favorite song of Elton John's....because there are too many that are FANTASTIC songs. He literally has 100 songs you could say are favorites. His consistent excellence in his musical compositions combined with Bernie Taupin
s lyrics....especially his albums from 1970 to 1980....was unrivaled.
Beautiful song. I’ve never seen this live version. Just lovely and another great reaction.
Mona Lisa’s and mad hattters! Levon! And someone saved my life tonight!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Been to many of his concerts throughout my life and he still is amazing to this day. 💗
“Daniel” by Elton
The studio recording of this song with all the instruments was a major hit in the early to mid 70s. Amazing how good it sounds just him and a piano. Tiny Dancer is one of my favorites of his. I can think of several I like about equally well but none clearly better than this song.....WAIT....I just remembered my favorite Elton song and I believe it was his very first hit...called simply "Your Song".
Blue Jean Jayy, California lady ....Such a heart warming song and reaction...thank u
Tiny dancer is one of my favorites..And Levon... so many Elton songs are amazing
LOVE ELTON, my god know one even comes close to this master musician. 50 years later, still going strong. Love ya ELTON!!
Saw him live a few years ago when he toured with Billy Joel. They did 'Piano Man' together and it was effing magic.
He has 30 years of wonderful songs, but my personal favorite is The Fox. You never hear it on the radio or anywhere else for that matter. It is here on CZcams listed under the search "Elton John The Fox Promo video" The album came out in the early 80's. I've always loved it. I've also loved so many more of his and Bernie's songs. I also love "Don't let the Sun go down on Me". I could go on and on...........
Don't Go Breaking My Heart (his duet with Kiki Dee)
"Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" is Elton's most beautiful song.
Gorgeous 💜
Elton and his piano are just magic. He has so many songs its ridiculous. Your Song is still my favorite. It was our first dance at our wedding 20 years ago. If you want something more upbeat, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting is great. Anything from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is gold. that album is one of the best ever. Almost named one of the my kids after the last track, Harmony, lol. My first concert was Elton when I was 13, and I've seen him 5 more times. This one was about Bernie Taupin's first wife, which he met during their first trip to the US.
Elton John's Bennie and the Jets is one of my favorites. Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting is great as well.
Elton John is another artist that has had a very long career that has so many songs that are awesome. Personally, I've always enjoyed his simpler music like Tiny Dancer. While I watched this reaction, I could hear my 32 year old singing this from the other room. We sang it together when she was little. Another one Elton did we liked to sing was "Your Song".
Your Song, Daniel and the entire Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "album" are all good. In fact, just about every Elton song is the best!
Favorite Elton is probably "Your Song." ❤
Tiny Dancer is one of the best by Elton John, but other songs like Nikita - Your Song - Sacrifice - Can You Feel The Love Tonight (The Lion King) - Daniel - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (Duet with George Michael) - Sad Songs (Say So Much) - That's What Friends Are For ( with Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Gladys Knight).
“Your Song” is a very sweet song!
Elton and his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin have now been making music for 5 decades so it is almost impossible to pick a favorite. They have written HUNDREDS of awesome songs. Since you like him live, you might want to watch him perform live at Princess Diana's funeral. Diane and Elton were close friends. Elton and Bernie reworked the lyrics of one of their most popular songs to fit her life CANDLE IN THE WIND. Elton sang it live on TV for a global audience of 2 billion people. He was awesome.
He is a musical genius. Legendary.
Elton hasn't really been mainstream for 30 years or more but he has an absolute legion of devoted fans worldwide who would happily go to every show they could when he was on his regular tours and being largely of the -ahem- "older generation", many of them could afford to do just that. He made it the hard way, working as a session musician and songwriter for other acts before breaking through and becoming a megastar. I had never heard this song until it gained traction from being in the movie "Almost Famous" in 2000.
Favourite all time Elton John song is Your Song. Next would be Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
Awesome reaction 💜
Elton would be a great marathon because he has soooo sooo many songs worth listening to. I love “sorry seems to be the hardest word” “ the way you look tonight” “your song” “believe” “sacrifice” and so many more
Don't let the sun go down on me...is another great song 🎵 👏
One of the best sides of an album ever put out!
Tony Dancer
Kevin
Razor Face
Madman Across the Water
Simply outstanding! Levon is one of my all-time favorites! During this 3-4 year period, Elton was on fire! He continues to pick out these many gems and performs them in a new light. I would highly recommend you watch the Live from Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, released around 1990. It highlights many songs from this era.
Great song, thank you Jayy!
My favorite Elton John song. Just a voice and a piano. Amazing
I loved seeing him live in Mobile AL back in early 70's💕 One of my favorites is "Goodbye Norma Jean" a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Later sang it for Princess Diana. I'm sure you would love it too
I love this song as my daughter, who liked watching the PBS cartoon Angelina Ballerina, would dance around the house similarly to this song and it just touches my heart si much and I have such pleasant memories of those days when she was 2-3 yrs old...
“ONE MORE ARROW”......Beautiful, beautiful song......enough said !! :)
My favorite song by him is Your Song. This is second. I loved this when it went on the charts in 71. Hard to believe it's been 50 years. A song I never get tired of hearing. Had incredible success, not sure if he tours but was I believe the opening act when Mohegan Arena opened in Wilkes Barre PA maybe 20 years ago
First song I heard from Elton John. I still love this song!
"Levon!!"
Also, take a listen to the album version of this one as well, the orchestra backup is just gorgeous!!
Madman Across the Water has for a long time has been my favourite Elton album. Every song is so strong, it has for me such a feeling of warmth with it's wonderful orchestration. If only all his albums had been as good 😔 sadly not! especially the later ones, but l suppose it makes his early recordings all the more special.
This is the beauty of CZcams where you can find these gems like this. I have been an Elton John fan since 1970 and you could only see this video since CZcams (or, if you lived in England and caught this on BBC at the time).
My favorite Elton John song? Jeeze...... Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Philadelphia Freedom, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Candle in the Wind (Goodbye England's Rose version, for Princess Diana's funeral), Sad Songs Say So Much...... impossible for me to decide. I'd say you should react to all of them if you can!!
Elton always said Bernie would send him the lyrics as simply a composition of poetry, then Elton would hear the music in his mind while reading the words, and sort out the arrangement. It was like that on pretty much every song they wrote together from 1970 through to this very day.
The music that came out of the 1960s-1980s was real. Pure. You had genuine, regular people writing heartfelt lyrics, and playing real instruments live. No computers. No "professional" song writers. It was all genuine music the way it should be. The industry became so corporatized and computerized over the years, I really feel sorry for people in your generation who are too young to remember when a new song came out. You literally had to stop on the side of the road if you were in your car to listen to it. And I mean LISTEN to it. You paid attention to the music, the instruments, the melody, the lyrics.
For all of Elton's outrageous stage outfits and glitter and sunglasses and Donald Duck outfits, what was always the driving force was the music. All the other garbage was just for show, it's the music of John/Taupin that's every bit as timeless and Lennon/McCartney.
It was much more than mere entertainment by some pop-tart written by some professional pop song writer and recorded using a few clicks of a computer keyboard that most music is today.
MAN CAN BLOW & PLAY. NO JOKE. I WORKED ONE OF HIS CONCERTS ALONG WITH BILLY JOEL. SOLD BOTTLED WATER BACK IN THE DAY IN DEATH VALLEY CLEMSON SC. PHENOMENAL.
Elton John - Candle in the Wind
While not being a big Elton John fan whatsoever, this and Rocket Man are both amazing songs.
Every song on Mad Man Across The Water is a Gem 💎🎶 I adore Elton 😊
One of my favourite songs of all time 🎉🎉🎉 PS “Your song” is another beauty from Elton (and Bernie)
Hey Jayy! “Crocodile Rock” is a great jam of his! Also his version of “Pinball Wizard!” 💜✌️
This song always brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye.
I love to sing this song it is such a great one. I grew up listening to Elton John so every time I heard his songs it gives me flashes of my whole life as though watching a movie. His music is timeless. Many of his songs are my favorite but some faster songs of his that are good as well are "I'm still standing" "Benny and the Jets"
My favorite is Someone saved my life tonight....the lyrics are amazing and you already know the piano is fire!!!!
Elton took you to Church!! Only way to describe it! Great reaction..❤ "Funeral for a Friend"
I saw him live on his current fairwell tour and its something ill never forget I've been to alot of concerts but this was 3 hours non stop of his biggest hits it was a magical night
Great reaction Jayy! My favorite EJ songs are Teacher I Need You and Blues For Baby and Me. You really should though (in my humble opinion) do a reaction to Tiny Dancer (audio) where there is full orchestration. Please react to Elton John singing Philadelphia Freedom on Soul Train!
THE JAYY SHOW It is No Wonder WHY He has been So Respected and admired By so many people, and Fellow Artists...Even THE Current Hitmaker of this Time,Billie Eilish,Has MUCHO respect For Him....He`s Been in the music Business,As OF Next Year,Nearly 60 HUGE YEARS...He has been KNIGHTED By The Queen HERSELF, Queen Elizabeth the 2nd,In February 1998,HAS Won 2 Academy Awards,For Can You Feel The Love Tonight,For The Lion King,And For I`m Gonna Love Me Again,IN 2020.......He`s had So many Hits,#1 Ones... In The End,You cannot HELP But respect Elton,And LOVE his works..I KNOW I DO!
'Your Song' or 'Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road'. Classic Elton.
Tiny Dancer is about his and Bernie Taupins first trip to LA. His first performance was at the Troubadour August 1970. I’m a long time Elton fan from the 70’s. I’m old😂
Hard to pick a favorite Elton song, but "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" and "Mona Lisas and Madhatters" are two that I've always loved.
"I want love" by Elton John. It's pretty awesome. You should check that out
Your pure joy reacting to this masterpiece made my day! I needed this. Cheers!
My favorite Elton John song is called your song or daniel. Both are beautiful and powerful. Imo he is a underrated songwriter. Great video as always. 🙏😱
I absolutely love "And I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues." by Sir Elton. He has much flashier fare, but this song just sounds beautiful to my ears.
Elton John & George Michael Live ~ Don't let the sun go down on me
"Tiny Dancer" is my favorite. I would say "Levon" or "Daniel" would come a close second. They all are great. My favorite album by EJ is "Tumbleweed Connection".
Ime in England he is known as Sir Elton John I believe over there he was given special honors by Queen Elizabeth herself she gives special honors to certain entertainers that has represented their country very well I believe thank you for your reaction he blessed and have a nice day
