@@mtdteedee2856I saw the Queen in Valetta in 1954 maybe, at the end of her Commonwealth tour. She was wearing a white evening dress and tiara. I think it was raining. HMQ was standing in a jeep, she was wearing something like a black rubber Cape over her dress. There was a lovely picture of her in the newspaper the next day. I saw Prince Charles and Princess Anne departing from Brittania to meet their parents for the first time in months. My mother was in a naval hospital at the time and I was with a friend's family.

I cannot get over the Queen receives visitors in her own home carrying her handbag. Since she does it, it must be the right thing to do. But I still think it very odd.
