Now most countries have eliminated progenitor and the woman are more common. So few monarchs are left that seeing 3 ruling monarchs walking together is a treat. They are not consorts but rulers in their own right.

Her senior lady in waiting, the Duchess of Devonshire, was wearing her biggest tiara, she said to a friend, 'The Queen has been complaining about the weight of her tiara. The Queen doesn't know what a heavy tiara is. ' The band shouldn't really be a problem because it's usually only a semi circle or two of thick wire wrapped in silk. Some ladies pin them in place. Princess Margaret said that the late Queen was the only person she knew who could put her tiara on whilst walking downstairs. There are lots of lovely tiara stories. I'm a writer so perhaps I should do a small book about them. About the peeress who dropped hers in the lavatory at a coronation. When a man with forceps was seen going to the ladies it caused speculation about what was happening. Or the evening when the then Duke of Portland went to talk to his wife whilst she was dressing and sat down without noticing that her tiara was on the chair. The Duchess was more concerned about her tiara than her husband. I hope you get to enjoy one.
