Includes functions (trivial and non trivial), sets, matrices, substitutions etc. and some mathematical explanation of real time issues. So that we can understand the issues better when it explained with numbers and functions rather than long essays. And don’t worry too much about maths in cybersecurity.☺️
Hey Akhila, thanks for an amazing video. I am planning to join in your uni for the same course. I would like to know further about the course and the placement. Do we need to pay extra tuition fee for the placement option. Do we get paid internships while doing the course. I am not from CS background but I am working as a cyber security professional. I hold CCNA, Security+ and CEH. Am quite confused since I don't have a cs degree. Is there students presently studying with you coming from other fields.
About tuition fee: there is no extra fee for the placement year. And internships can be paid or unpaid . It’s your call to choose which . Uni will approve both. Good to know that you have CEH. See it doesn’t matter which field you come from since you have hands on experience in cyber field . Portrait it well on your SOP.

I want to do the same course in either de montfort or Northumbria london campus cuz both of them are NCSC certified. If you have to pick between these two which one do you pick??
I would say Northumbria. It’s ranked, and in London. You can adapt to a high -city fast life with lot of opportunities. De Montfort, I think it’s near to Leicestershire.. and cost f accommodation will be cheaper than staying in London. But check the course modules and placement opportunities as well.
Well. The only problem you will ever face is with maths and coding. But I would say brush up basic maths(discreet and functional) . Also try to learn basic C. (So that you can learn any language if you understand C better) it’s not that you can’t switch streams but how much effort you put into it 😊

Coding interest illenkil ee course edukkunnath is not good. It’s waste of time. You can take digital forensic (less coding ) data science (data visualisation techniques only ) . Apart from that everything involves coding . But a lot career options are there without coding like IT support, user experience designer etc

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Usually taking a cs branch after bio maths is not a big deal. I was a biomath student. But I could manage coding within 2-3 months. Initial it was Greek and Latin for me. But 5_6 days classes in a week (kerala) was enough to learn coding. But in UK you won’t get that intense teaching or time(especially if you are looking for part time). So if you are. Looking for a stable career I suggest you to either learn how to code or do in kerala . (Cuz I personally value our education system more for a career oriented study)
I don’t about the current criteria. When I joined only people from circuit branches could get into cybersecurity. Then I saw students from various streams. You’d better check the uni “eligibility criteria “ .

Hi, This is my honest opinion. But you can proceed with what your mind says ☺️ always . If you ask me I would say , take the main vertical (such as bsc computer science,IT, network and computing etc ) rather than going to a specific sub vertical. You can also choose Network security,Information security and computing . And do a masters in cyber . Or if you are not thinking about masters in near future, you can go ahead with cyber ☺️

Greenwich is reputed and has 1 yr course also no internship/research .(statics till 2021, I don’t know if they changed it) Then Northumbria, Hertfordshire. Middlesex don’t provide internship(till 2021) Also it’s in london so the show money and cost living will be high. Then Anglia Ruskin. And UWL should be your least priority. I won’t recommend UWL.

It depends on the time you work on. The main problem you’ll ever face is with the practical assignments. But every lectures are recorded and you can refer them any time to complete the assignments. You can practice KALI LINUX fir penetration testing on CZcams. It will give you an idea about how tough or easy it will be 😀. Trust me the jan semester will be hard(B) . But the September semester (A) will not be that hard.

I would say windows. Since most students use windows so it is better to get help to fix bugs . And for VMs like VM ware is free for windows. But you will VM ware fusion for free with student pass.

Hi I don’t the current entry criteria of universities. Usually they take students from circuit branches. But some universities accept the students regardless of their academic background. The best thing is to check the entry criteria of the course on university web page.

To clarify, can you tell if we are on 2 yr Cyber Security course for sept intake.. when the sandwich placement will start.. is it after complete the course or it breaks in between semesters

No. it really matters if you are a member of BCS. Not your university. BCS accredited syllabus is specific syllabus pattern but when it comes to job all that matters is your skill. ☺️

Hi I don’t the current entry criteria of universities. Usually they take students from circuit branches. But some universities accept the students regardless of their academic background. The best thing is to check the entry criteria of the course on university web page.

If your intake is jan , you will have a sandwich internship. ie you will have to start your internship after 3-4 months. I’ve done a detailed video regarding this.

@@akhilanelson_here The course name mentioned in my Offer Letter is MS Cyber Security with Sandwich Placement and the course will start on September. Do you mean eventhough it mentioned as Sandwich Placement, it will be after my all the semesters?
@@anjalignair6590 It says sandwich bcz you won’t complete your course before internship . ie You will do your internship right after your main modules. Then after internship you will come back and study your final semester. For jan intake after internship they have to study 2 semesters.

Is it possible for September intake students to do full time job during vacation? In addition to the above questions, do we need to apply for the internship in companies 2 or 3 months before it starts? The assignments and final project can be done by ourselves if we tried hard right?

In data science, you get an option to move to managerial side as a career option . Cyber (well you can, depends on how good you are in managerial side 😀). Both are I good . Oru solid answer parayan illa. I choose cyber wen I had this confusion.

From my experience, Hertfordshire is a good uni to do masters in cybersecurity.

No. it really matters if you are a member of BCS. Not your university. BCS accredited syllabus is specific syllabus pattern but when it comes to job all that matters is your skill. ☺️
