Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch unboxes the limited edition Raketa Space Launcher gift set which includes two watches designed in close collaboration with the Russian space agency, Roscosmos. One watch features a white dial which depicts an image of Earth as seen from the North Pole, and the other an aventurine stone dial. Each timepiece utilizes a 24-hour, fully-lumed dial with Arabic applied markers, and the metal used in the bezel comes from the Soyuz-2.1a space launcher that took off on October 14, 2020, making a record-breaking three-hour trip to the International Space Station. Furthermore, the straps are constructed from the Sokol space suits worn by all Russian cosmonauts, adding to the set’s outer space credentials. The full box gift set comes with the watches, additional straps, a certificate from Roscosmos certifying that the metal used in the watch bezel came from the Soyuz-2.1a rocket, an official insignia of the space mission, a detailed brochure, and a scale model of the Soyuz 2.1a space launcher. I own the darker, aventurine dialed one. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this watch! For the price point, Raketa presents this watch well: 2 straps, one made from the suit material, and all the other goodies described in the video, minus the model rocket. So far, the watch has a “well made” feel to it. Running accurately, and beautiful aesthetics. I really love the aventurine dial. It gives the watch a definite Outter space feel. It has been a little tough for me to get used to the 24 hour timekeeping, but the positives of this watch far outweigh this minor nuance for me. Kudos to Raketa on a great watch!
