I'm trying to buy a 2004 accord cl7 and it has 324,000km but my personal car I have now which is a 02 accord sir f20b has 197,000 km was thinking of selling it to upgrade to the o4 with more miles but not sure if it's a good idea.
I’m not sure exactly. I just picked up an 02 Accord with as far as I can tell the original F23A1 engine with about 400k miles. Still runs great :) As they get older they can burn more oil and wear out though. I think you can get lucky.
@@NicholasAndre1 I have an 02 Accord V6, engine still runs fantastic at 237K miles, doesn't burn any oil and the oil is very clean. Very reliable, something tells me the guy here either got a lemon, didn't change the oil enough or drove the heck out of the engine, who knows.
Or is it 3 engine changes meaning this is the 4th engine ?! Meaning after the first change, it’s on its second engine, second change it’s on its third engine, and on its third change it’s on the 4th engine. If so then it’s about 250,000 miles per engine.
I had a 1997 honda accord that went over 300000, the only reason I retired it was because it was totaled in an accident. Now I have a honda fit that has 159000 which is literally nothing for a honda and it runs like new.
Talk about clickbait. 3 engines? Anyway, those 2.3l engines are buttery smooth. I still have one, 2002, with the same tranny, engine, rad, ac, original muffler etc. with 191k + maint.
I would be more impressed if it was a million miles on the original engine. 300,000 miles is hardly unheard of on a Honda and this car has had three engines that probably lasted approximately 300,000 miles each. I see older Hondas on the road all of the time, some of which probably have between 200k-300k on the odometer.
Im in a 2001 honda civic holding 289,068 right now! ❤ Original Everything! hes THE GREEN BEAN !!! No engine light! I love my baby!! And i know his time is yet to come😢
Any of you saying 3 engines later doesnt count, well he prolly went 7-10k on oil changes, if he did it every 5k then every 3k after 200k with 5w30 instead of 20, most definitely it could have survived 750k or more, also probably forgot to change the timing belt and snapped causing it to get a new engine, so if it was a more mindful owner then yes, butttt still is impressive being that it still starts up and works like it did when it had 10 miles on it, and probably has some original suspension parts on it
Most reliable cars ever kia, Hyundai, nissan Mitsubishi dont stand a chance after 100,000 miles but honda and Toyota will go 400,0000 miles easily and effortlessly
My little 8 spark plug ranger its holding around 200,000 miles, same engine same manual trans. Not a single sign of smoke, just a little oil consumption
It’s funny how the older generation use the term “ragging out” or “aggressive driving.” They seem to strongly believe that driving any vehicle hard will cause unneeded strain on the engine. When there are thousands of folk with the original motor in their whatever vehicle, running well over 500K miles no problem. I have a tough time buying into it. Good example would be like a weed cutter, they’re designed to run at a constant 7-9K RPMs without any issue. But they COULD run significantly slower if cutting your grass at a grandmother’s pace is what you prefer. Running a healthy engine hard, isn’t gonna wear it out any faster than doing it normally. The factory would slap strict governors on every car manufactured if that was the case, but they don’t. In fact, all vehicles on this planet have governors already. The red line on your rev meter. As long as you don’t hit and chill in that zone, you’re good.
cant read your whole paragraph, its to long to for a point that doesnt make sense. its common knowledge that the harder you are on the car the more wear and tear it will get. Thats how it works. u get more tired when u run vs walking right.
@@Carlossteezyblunts Engines don't get "tired", they aren't biological organisms. Of course they can and do wear out over time, but every study I have seen clearly showed that the vast majority of engine wear is caused during startup and warmup, not necessarily from being run under a heavy load once warmed up. Also, very light loads can be problematic because it can cause carbon buildup, stuck rings, cylinder wall glazing, etc, so going out of your way to be as gentle on the engine as possible could actually do more harm than good.
Hondas were designed and rolled off the line to be beaten and mahandled. 275,000 miles on my V6 Accord and it has yet to see a day free of abuse. Still starts up and runs great as it should. Each to their own, but I feel "some" vehicles operate best when regularly performing at their full potential.
3 engine changes means this doesn’t count. Also probably had several transmissions replaced also. You can take ANY car and replace the engine and tranny multiple times to get the odometer to 1 million miles, nothing impressive here.
This is the reason why my first car was a Japanese car and my last car will be a Japanese car as well. American cars are made to look tough or fancy on the outside but the internals are worst than a tinker toy.
I've had the same broom for 20 years it's had 17 new handles and 15 new brushes 😁
I'm dead
Hahah. Trigger, have you been cleaning with that broom? 👍👍
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s good to have the car for that long but it’s also risky. Something could break or fail while you are on the road.
Very nice broom indeed I must say...
I'm at 330,000 on my 2004 Accord, same engine.
2004 accord has a k24 2.4 liter dual cam vtec.. this car has an f23a engine. Single cam, 2.3 liter vtec. K series engines are awesome.

That's not a true million mile car because they replaced the engine.
In that case none of them are. All million milers are Frankensteins
3 engines?? Well that doesn’t count. 1 million miles would be if it had kept the same engine.
Right, this is stupid.
Agreed, this honda shouldn't count, there are 1 engine examples elsewhere!
Lol exactly
Probably rebuilt the engine... nothing wrong with that

3 engines? I'm surprised, Honda make the best engines out there. If it was 3 transmissions, eh.. I wouldn't be surprised

If a Honda or Toyota engine breaks its most likely the owners fault because those engines are suppose to last you forever
With an average of 330k miles per engine, not the greatest on earth , but still a very good example of Honda reliability.
Yep! Even a Ford can muster 330k
Well about 300,000 per engine is still not bad though.
they slipped in "3 engines later" like adding salt to taste
3 engines doesn't count
375,000 on my 99 V6 Accord. Original engine and transmission
Surprised the automatic transmission didn't shit on you. How's it holding up
Hows the trans now didnt think honda had bullet proof trans like toyota.
I too have had a million mile car. I just swapped out the car three times.
😂
They said “3 engines later” so this guy replaced the engine 3 times before getting to 999,999 miles.
This “inspector” must have forgot to check his oil.

Amazing!!
Even the most unreliable car with the engine replaced 3 times would reach 1 million miles
IDK that still an average of 333000 miles an engine lol pretty good
Obviously you don't know much about cars
Um no
Not true, Kias start burning oil at about 15000 miles and nissan tranny's break down after 100000 miles.
That's not really a million-mile car, he's got the engine changed thrice.
Honda must give this man a brand new car for free, and take his old car.
This car doesn’t have a million miles. The guy replaced the engine 3 time. So no
yea but guy guy has driven 1,000,000 miles in the car. Do you not understand what hes talkin bout?

Any car can last a million miles if the engine and transmission is changed once it fails. This shouldn't count.
I know right?! They falsely mislead us.😡

But still the title is misleading.

congrats you have arrived at king kai's house
The moon is 238k miles away he had 1 million on it according to my calculation that’s to the moon and back 4 times 😂
Then you would be wrong. 238,000 to the moon, 238,000 back. 476,000 roundtrip. 2 roundtrips = 952,000. 4 roundtrips = 1,904,000
Too bad no one has actually been to the moon so that would would know the distance for sure, but it sounds cool.
Slept in math class huh?
Absolutely phenomenal?
So just the shell is 1million miles 🤣

i have a 2002 accord with 200,000 miles. How long will it last me with proper maintenance?
50...100k if your lucky, already broken in at 200k

No

3 engines that's cheating. so 1 engine estimate to blow out around 300k
