According to the novelization when the twin died, Elizabeth felt the pain and cried uncontrollably. They did everything to calm her. As she aged and shedded her skin, she grew angry, but Willie and Julie helped her control her emotions. Portions of this story actually happened on the weekly show.

In the birth of the "Lizzard baby" (with Frank Sinatra's eyes) we feel disgusted, like if we wish to get hin out, dipose of hin. But the scen when he dies we feel touched. At least was what I felt while watching it during childhood.
It was an innocent. It never committed any crimes or took part in the invasion of Earth. Just because it wasn't human, its still heartbreaking to see a defenseless life suffer and die.

For some reson I feel if the twin survived as well he would have ended up being more instrumental then Elizabeth herself and a nightmare for the evil visitors
It’s incredibly dated now but as a youth I was one of many who tuned in relentlessly to see the latest episode of V!
I was in 4th grade when this aired. All of us kids would be playing V in the schoolyard at recess. My mom sold Avon at the time and they had this face mask stuff that looked like skin when you would peel it off. She gave me like 20 tubes of the stuff which of course I took to school. I was very popular for about 2 weeks that year cause all of the kids wanted to peel off their faces like the Visitors when they "died". Good times.

I just hope Ken Johnson gets to end his story the way he wanted when he first created this! Would love to start a GoFundMe...but looks like we have other things to worry about these days. Have any of you read his follow up novel, “V - the Next Generation?”
Yes I read it a few years ago.
It was based on a generation after the initial arrival of the Visitors.
Diana was still in command and the world had been subdued.
There was no Mike Donovan or Julie Parish involved, I think they were mentioned but nobody knew if they were still alive.
At the end of Part Two, Julie sent out a coded message via radio telescope to the Visitor's enemies.
This is finally answered in the book.

They should have gotten Kenneth Johnson back for Final Battle. It was mostly his creation. If he had come back, the Final Battle would probably had a more grounded plot.
