Great vid and info mate. Catch these back in the UK and they’re the ‘biggest of all fish’ as referred to over by anglers there! Do you know anywhere in and around Auckland I could try catch them?

Lake Pupuke has them but they are quite small in comparison to these ones

What's the flesh like? Better table fare than trout?

It's miles better, trout doesn't even come close to how good perch fillets are. Small amount of bones, thick, barely any blood and white meat.

Totally agree, it just not fight as a trout so you don't get much fun.. But for eating is better than trout

Theres about 4 different lakes in the vid but most of them are in hawkes bay or manawatu.
