    It's always interesting when a new model comes out at the time and you may say to yourself that they can go no higher. But new models always come out somehow making the previous look obsolete. A great Ferrari for sure.

    With the 458 and 488 still being Juggernauts of entry level Ferrari's but still selling for stupid money, the 430 right now would be a good car to get you racking up those Ferrari points. However, only with the extended warranty still in place. The F1 transmission famous for the 355 and Jeremy Clarkson's famous 'floppy paddle' , did improve in this car, but still...it had some issues.

    The zero'd clock display and code screen for the radio/nav system implies the battery has been disconnected for some reason. Let's hope the radio code is still with the car. The manettino modes are 'Ice' for very low grip conditions, 'Low Grip' for when it may be a bit slippy, 'Sport' = normal, 'Race' for a reduced traction control and stability net and 'Combine Stability and Traction system Off' for "it's all down to you fella".
    Funny to remember that some US cars didn't get Launch Control or rear fog's. Presumable the former is deleted to make people safer, but then you put them at more risk of a rear-end collision.
    Odd after-market looking piece of leatherwork below the aircon controls; not sure what that's for?
    You are right about the Bose switch in the centre console, although why anyone driving an F430 Spider would want to listen to music when the roof is down is beyond me. Standard cars get a useful 12V socket instead.
    The switch next to the roof control opens the small compartment behind the seats, which you will now have to push closed again (8:49).
    The emergency hand brake is out of adjustment if it goes that high.
    Even in manual mode the car will start in Auto until you make the first manual gear change into second.
    The window buttons are both one touch down but only the driver's is one touch up; don't know why.
    If you raise the roof until it locks and then keep holding the button it will also raise the windows for you.
    These cars are currently good value and still appreciating so this could be an excellent buy.

    Just a quidk correction; the F430 prefers to be parked in the gear "1" slot. If you set the car is "N" by pulling both paddles and turn off the car, it will beep at you telling you that the car is not in gear. To correct that, you do not need to turn the car back on, but turn on the electrical. Press down the brake and shift up to first gear and turn off. You will notice that the car will not beep at you.

    The Ferrari F430 is becoming desirable among collectors. Clean, low mileage examples are starting to bring in big money.

  • @jakes5530
    @jakes5530 Před 3 lety +8

    It’s cool and over the long term this has potential to appreciate in value. But, I think the 458 would be a much better “investment”, being the last naturally aspirated mid engined v8 Ferrari made.

    • @coreycohen6160
      @coreycohen6160 Před 3 lety +6

      The 458 is a higher price of entry so it would have to appreciate more to equal the same “gain” on your investment. The 430 is also the last analog feeling Ferrari and may do even better as a percentage gain on investment than the 458 over the long term. The 458 is an amazing and fast car, but it starts Ferrari’s move to a more video game feel, plus a 430 can be converted to a manual, which is even more of the traditional Ferrari feel.

    • @jakes5530
      @jakes5530 Před 2 lety

      @@coreycohen6160 Yeah I mean you're not wrong. In my opinion, the 458 is a truly beautiful car, even better looking than the 488 and the new F8, certainly better looking than the 430. In the collector car market, looks play a big role in desirability and therefore value. The 430 looks pretty similar to the 360 and therefore may be kind of forgettable. The 458 marked the first model of Ferrari's current design language (meaning the 488 and F8 look like the 458). That all said, I'd be ecstatic to own either.
