To my ear, Kobato's guitar holds the whole song together, allowing Akane, Mincho & MISA to do Band-Maid things whenever they want, never outshining each other. Saiki & Kobato have such a great understanding of their vocal abilities, they can harmonize in ways other bands can only dream about. Cheers!

They look toward Saiki to start her slow breakdown. Miku pretends to tune while shaking her head. Akane cracks up so hard she can barely play. Just Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things!

BAND-MAID'S Take Me Higher = A FLAWLESS Rock n Roll song and performance! It is outright CRIMINAL how little attention this song gets. Since you liked this one so much, I'm sure you will LOVE their performance of Turn Me On from the same show. It is another criminally ignored song that also includes its own Bad A$$ back n forth between Misa and Kanami.

The song that started my journey. The member who grabbed my attention first was Akane.This song and Dice made me buy the World Domination album with the bonus of this show and I was hooked for life.
Misa plays guitar, just not on stage where she plays bass so impeccably. Band-Maid knows how to write and play as a band, giving every member of the band a vital part in the song.

I had wondered it rock was truly dead, and this song single-handedly convinced me I need not have worried. To me this is what the Stones would have done if they had been as skilled on their instruments.
This was the song that got me hooked on Band Maid when I 1st discovered them in 2019. It was that back and forth between MISA and Kanami that did it.

Band Maid can make great music in any rock genre. Don't try to "pigeon-Hole" this band in any rock genre. They defy that categorization. They often mix "genres" in their songs and do it very well. Their transitions are seamless. This band is about musical excellence. So, we just need to call their music "Band Maid music".

Hey Coach, the triumvirate of BAND-MAID is so stellar to me that I can't think of another band after the 70's that has a more powerful, unique, melodic and omnipresent trio as Kanami, Akane and MISA. That's how their instrumentation hits me. And the bands consistently Awesome music from 2015 to present ranks with any of the mighty 70's rock/metal/prog bands. Peace. 1.16

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! the Nickelback influence is the opening riff from their song "Animals" but unlike "Animals" "Take Me Higher" retains the riff throughout with Miku Playing it beneath Mincho's lead

Nickelback rode that single riff and the chorus vocal pattern the entire song to a #1 Billboard _mainstream rock_ single and, in my genuinely honest opinion at least, their best song and certainly best rock song. By contrast, Kanami used that riff, which is a great and catchy riff, sparingly and it's like the 6th best thing in the song. The hook to a #1 single of its genre in the US and it is like only the sixth best thing about the song. Just goes to show her writing ability is beyond top-notch.
One song I suggest you listen to is "Chemical Reaction" (There is no video). I feel that it's an homage to early 70's rock with a brilliant ending rift at the very end of the song. The song has a thundering bass, pounding drums complete with cowbell, Kanami uses fuzz tones, wah-wah pedals, In fact, the title of the song title and the lyrics are an homage to rock in the 70's "Chemical Reaction" subtly alludes to the famous phrase that described the era (Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll). Sex is inspired by chemical reactions in the body and brain. Drugs are obviously. Rock and Roll creates another chemical reaction in the brain. Brilliant! The end of the song with the trembling rift is very reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix's rift in "Purple Haze" or "Foxy Lady".

Good ear on the Nickelback style intro riff. Really fun song that they rarely play anymore.
Band-Maid might of kind of borrowed the initial riff off of Nickelback's 'Animals' and improved that sorry ass band's song by 1000%. Pity 'Take Me Higher' is very rarely played today as it is a great banger of a song.
