It brought back some memories with DQVIII. What a timeless masterpiece and easily my favourite PS2 game and one of my favourites of all time. Just a great story with amazing music. Trying not to feel the urge to replay 😅.
A bit like you i didn’t get it completed until a few years after it came out although i did get a good portion through when it came out (there were just too many good games coming out in that time).
I recently got my wife to play and she fell in love with the series too. Although she did every monster battle and didnt even hunt for metal slimes 😂.
PS:- Camera is great. Love the channel just because you love the games and we can see that. No crazy stupid editing and shouting with a billion ad’s like every other channel out there.

Pete thanks for taking the time to do a more lengthy 📼 it’s odd to think I’ve got more PS2 games in my collection than any other system I can’t honestly remember the last time I bought a PS2 game, my focus has been heavily on collecting all the RPG Dungeon Crawlers & Hack & Slash games on the Switch as it’s my favourite system since the PS2 & reminds me of the PS1/2 RPG game library, Scarface is one of those games your almost embarrassed to admit that’s been sitting in my collection for years with 💯’s of other games I haven’t had the time to play, I’ve always been curious if you had to pick games that have been similarly sitting in your collection unplayed for years what you’d come up with I know you’ve touched on the subject before, Beyond Good & Evil is a great example 😮 I really need to play it at some point…. as for me I will be going back & doing DragonQuest next after my second play though of Octopath Traveler 1/2 your previous 📼 was a timely reminder about DragonQuest beating me back in the day & the need to revisit it in 2024 ….

Big congrats on the new camera! Finally getting around to watch this video, I've been in the process of moving. I missed out on the PS2 growing up so I've been making up for lost time. Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure was such a throwback (I had it on the Xbox), now I'm going to have to go listen to Trust Company. 🤣

I was playing dragon quest VIII too recently & its so good! I loved finally actually learning about hero & his backstop after playing him so much in smash ultimate

Scarface The World Is Yours was developed by the same team who did Simpsons Hit and Run. Those folks were weirdly into making open world maps that felt like racetracks
No lie I always keep the gamestops/store stickers on. It tells a story the history of that copy

Dance Beat was surprisingly fun. My sister bought it back in the day and we played the heck out of it. Come to think of it, that might have been the first music/rhythm game I ever played. I don’t think I played Parappa until later on.
I love the ps2 videos pete. Just wanted to say that Dragon Quest 11 is a very traditional rpg and it's also very good.
Highly recommend putting 24 the game on your list. It’s a ps2 exclusive and is a really decent 3rd person shooter with great voice-acting and story. Pretty cheap too.
I actally like games to have times when music isn't playing and you just hear sound effects. The example I always think of is bit in Final Fantasy 8 where cloud is laying in bed and you just hear the relaxing sound effects.
First played dq8 on the 3ds, what a great game. After i played 11 i got into the series lol.
The De Palma Scarface with Pacino is a remake and since I found out I have been curious about the original.
I enjoyed the reservior dogs game . Time to try Scarface.

I 100% agree about Dragon Quest VIII. It was my first game in the series on PS2. I really wish that they would port over all of the DQ games to PS5. If I have to say something about the game is how unbalanced the game feels sometimes, the load times, long walking, etc.

I’m still in disbelief how Blood Will Tell is not mentioned that often. IMO the best action rpg on the Ps2. Another underrated gem is Eve of Extinction.

Looks like I put DQVIII down after playing it for close to 50 hours. I was thinking of watching some of your playthrough and then continuing on my own. I remember quitting because some dungeon puzzle was annoying me and I kept getting turned around because of random battles and then my items ran out.

Hey Pete, I loved hearing about these games! I recently found Scarface on PS2 at Goodwill. Do you think it's more obscene than House of The Dead Overkill? I think that game holds the most F bombs in any game. Nice camera upgrate too Pete, I have the first gen Pocket, and love it!

Glad you brought up Unlimited Saga. That's a game I really disliked after buying it full price back in the day, but nowadays appreciate in a whole new light. That said, I don't usually read any guides so it is kind of annoying that I have to do that :D The game also sort of tricks you to pick Laura's quest first, only to barely make it to the final boss rush, which is incredibly difficult to win. But yeah, read the guides and it's a good game! Thank you for your content, Pete :]

Have you played the Two Towers or LotR The Third Age? I'd recommend both of them, especially if you like the films.

If you think disaster report is fun you have to play raw danger.. it’s hands down my favorite ps2 game.
The 2000's was the most lax time in video game history with regards to violence, profanity and nudity etc. Before that, things were still a bit too fresh off Columbine. After 2000's we definetly have violence during that period literally no one cared. In fact they were trying to get bad mainstream press because they knew it would make teens want to grap a copy.
