That last clip of all 3 cameras confirms the 410 is a great product.
True.
"it's Reolink, so no subscription needed", "The video quality is a Reolink, so it's pretty good" biggest flex right here 😌
:)
I already invested in the Eufy ecosystem. Reolink got me questioning my choice. If Eufy comes out with a 180 degree or 360 fisheye camera this year, I may not switch to Reolink.
@@dontump2286Reolink already has all these cameras already and they even have a duo 3 which is 16MP 180 degrees FOV. Your welcomed to check out my review of that also
@@LifeHackster can you please do a video on using Ring Gutter mount that you mention at 3:19 in the video please?
@dontump2286 have you seen the S340 that is 360° motion?
I'm at that and a few others
WOW! You actually covered my issue, I'm impressed. You're videos are so comprehensive! I have the problem with the vertical field of view, too narrow!
Also, it doesn't have the flip feature, for those who may need to hang upside down. Thank you, as always for your detailed, honest reviews!
Thank you. I appreciate it.
This is a really good review and guide man. I’m using mine to shoot timelapse of my garden.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
The image during daylight looks excellent. Huge improvement over the Argus 3. The oversharpening is gone and colors and contrast look natural.
Thanks for the review. I was curious about this device. I guess my hesitation with battery power device still remains. Also, pro move including the quick comparison of the CX410 and CX810. Much appreciated!
Yes, wired is always better than battery powered ones. Thanks for watching!
I went thru two battery cams and they are total garbage. Battery will die in the winter if you live in an area with snow.
Thanks for the review L.H.
Thanks for watching!
nice vid well done, I am looking forward to your vid on reolink home hub and reolink home hub pro
Thanks for watching!
Also the design is sooo good!! Can we talk about the design? Looks like a tiny Apple Vision Pro, this design fixes almost every single design fail of the Reolink Duo series, give me a poe version and I'm sold
True. A pretty compact design. Definitely waiting for a wired or PoE version.
I think a comparison vid against Duo (2 or 3) would be useful to highlight differences in field of view, notification times, etc....
@LifeHackster can you please do a video on using Ring Gutter mount that you mention at 3:19 in the video please? 😉
We really need a CX sensor based doorbell.
A CX 4K PoE version would be a dream come true
That will be a good one...
@@Kaienhere if the 4K looks like this here, I'd gladly take it. Looks better than the new CX810 to me, especially at night. Very low ghosting in comparison and also much less sharpening/noise.
Agree. I'd buy that to replace my current Reolink Doorbell camera. I already have a CX410 and love it.
As a Reolink user, I wouldn't mind trying out one of those. The narrow vertical coverage doesn't really work too well for me, but I'm sure the extended horizontal view would make up for it.
Hey Lifehackster, really like your videos so informative. Have a 2 part question. In your opinion what's the best overall hardwire/NVR system to get for home security ?
Also the best home alarm system to get?
Appreciate much.
For NVR system, I have been using Reolink and have been happy with them. As to Alarm, I have used Rings and had no issues with them either.
It's a shame they didn't use this design for the POE duo 2 camera.
Yeah, I literally just got mine 2 months ago :( :(
Reolink... Nice Camera.... But where are the POE CX dome and turret cameras
I know. I'm waiting for that too..
Good timing my Argus 3 Pro crapped out on me again and I think for good this time.
compared them yet? I had one Argus 3 crap out on me also.
@@stiffmeister0hYeah I haven't had the chance to buy the 4 yet
I've had the 3 replaced once
This recent time it just, I assume drained the battery despite being in solar
Got stuck in boot loop so I gave up
It was great while it lasted, won't argue with that haha
Hello Sir, which one would recommend between the Argus 4 Pro and the Eufy S340? Your insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
I also like the PIR sensor on this for its range and approach sensitivity at longer range and I hope Reolink start using this PIR sensor on all their battery cameras,
Hi!
Currently I use 3 ecosystem of security cameras, below I put them and why I choose it and use it:
1. Eufy- e340 and for cameras with a solar panel integrated
2. Tapo- cheap and easy to use
3. Reolink- just for 180 degree
Are those a good choise?
Regarding the vertical narrow field of view... I just noticed in Reolink website that the Argus 4 PRO has a 4mm lens, whereas the Argus 4 has a 2.8mm lens. This should result in a wider angle in favour of the standard model, also vertically, is that a correct assumption? I have seen a comparison between Argus 4 Pro and the duo 3 that also has a 2.8mm lens and the vertical coverage is definitely wider that the Argus 4 pro. The drawback is that it has more distortion. I bet is the same with the Argus 4 standard model but havent found any reviews for this camera yet, only for the PRO. Thanks for all the good work
Bought two Eufy and for the first time I've been really quite disappointed at issues with their 2K limit for cloud upload, badly done app, abrupt ending to clips. Going to tread carefully with this one.
O.o nice, you have the home hub. I would like to get one also. Did they send you the hub as well?
Yes, but just a few days ago.
Great review. Would IR light from surrounding cameras aid the picture quality, or is IR filtered and only visible light captured.
IR will not help. It is only in color mode.
Thanks for this review. I hesitate between this one and eufy s340. Which one do you advise me?
I'm not sure yet. I have to compare this with the S340.
As always I LOVE your reviews. For me the only negative is the transparent look that the night time footage has. I don't think I can live with that.
You will not use it that way though. You will put the night mode in auto which it will turn ON its spotlights when it detects motion if it get too dark.
@@LifeHackster I hear what you are saying but where I'm going to use it the neighbors would hate seeing that light come on/off. So this isn't the one for me I dont' think.
Hi, where did you purchase the gutter mount compatible for this?
@LifeHackster Is the Argus4 capable of 24/7 recording without NVR?
Dang I might just have to switch from eufy!!! Especially being able to capture movement that far!
Have a PoE version of this, and I'm sold.
I'm waiting for that too..
LH, were you running the AP4 through the new home hub in your tests (live views and notifications) or stand alone? I am very interested in the home hub when it comes to wireless battery powered cameras as from everything I’ve read it is supposed to support live local streaming without the Internet, which is rare for battery cameras, limited on storage, unfortunately. Also wondering if it’s going to speed up motion notifications compared to many other WiFi cameras
No, this is setup by itself. I will make a separate video on the hub when I check and test it out.
It’s literally because of you and your channel that I got my 410, so thank you for that! But why is the older 410 better? I don’t understand that!!
I’ll keep my 410. It’s great and obviously the newer cameras are a step backwards in terms of low light visibility which is important to me. I’m super happy with my 410. It’s also amazingly quick at notifications which being the WiFi version I was not expecting. I had thought I would switch to an 810 PoE situation someday, but not anymore!!
Yes, the CX410 seems to be brighter than the new CX models that have came out.
I think it is because it is not 4k, so it has less pixels. Pixels are larger so more light per pixel, but less resolution.
Which is better setup: camera + solar panel in gutter or camera in the eave + solar panel up in the gutter?
I do like the Argus pro, but I think a better choice is the Tapo 425. The narrow FOV is a deal breaker for me on the Argus.
Lifehachster, how did you adapt the Ring Gutter mount to attach the solar panel? I have the Ring mount and the Reolind Argus, but can't figure out how to mount the solar panel. None of the parts match up.
I used the upper part of the wasserstein mount. I used the bottom part of the Ring mount to mount to the gutters.
Any plans to test the Argus 4 non-Pro model? It looks to have a much wider lens of 2.8mm vs the Pro having a 4mm. You do lose the color X though and are lights and IR only. I wonder why they use different lenses on these two.
which is the difference between Argus 4 Pro and Reolink Duo 2 4K+SR3?
What is the gutter mount that you are using?
He says a wasserstein 2-in-1 but in a ring gutter mount I believe around the 3:14 - 3:18
@@MrSadlerd3, I’ve searched for that Ring Mount and not found it. Anybody have a link?

Please note: If you don't have a Ring camera then go with the Wasserstein.
@@LifeHackster , neither of those are the mount you showed. I have the Wasserstein already. The one you showed looks better.
WIll you be getting the non-pro model as well to review? Would love to see the night time difference between the Pro model and the non-pro (smaller sensor).
Will see.
Hey, I am using a 256GB card in mine, works fine(you mentioned 128GB as max @1:25).
That's great to hear.. Reolink specs stated 128 GB max.
Thanks for the reviews. It's quite a narrow view. Maybe it's just me, but the 4k night vision are no better than a 2k. Still an interesting camera. Questions for those owning or tested one, Alexa works on these? Just that the last time visited Reolink, Alexa "Coming soon"
4mm mild zoom may be the reason for vertical diffence at same distance mounting
That's what I'm thinking too..
I am thinking of getting one of these to monitor my summer cottage during the winter time when no one is there. Because no one is there, I have always turned off my Internet for the winter. So does that mean that the reo link device would not be able to send images to my cell phone 2 hours away & I’d have to physically go to the property to check the sd card? This is probably a dumb question but I’m new to security cameras & want to be sure I’m understanding correctly.
I bought two to evaluate as it seems close to the perfect camera for my use case. I much prefer the dual fixed cameras for wide FOV vs a tracking camera. My wish is for 24/7 recording capability if we feed it constant power from an AC converter.
Not this model and also my suggestion if you can give it power, then get the Duo 3 or the Duo 2 or wait until they release a wired version of this. Wired is way better than battery powered one.
@@LifeHackster the problem is I have power run but no CAT6 so I still need WiFi. Currently I have a hardwired Arlo Ultra 2 doing 24/7 recording but it is wanting in the resolution department. Even though it’s “4k” it’s not as sharp as the Argus 4 Pro looks.
I like how Arlo allowed better functionality when the normally battery powered camera is hardwired. I’m hopeful Reolink could do something similar.
Well I got mine and… It sucks, at least in its current state. WiFi connectivity issues, it goes MIA for hours sitting right next to my router and Reolink chat support is clueless. I might try this phone support later today after work but first impressions is this launch is just like the Eufy S40 launch. Great promise killed by connectivity issues. Hold off on buying this for a month or two IMO.
Sorry to hear that. Is your phone by any chance connected to your WIFI when you were testing it? If it is, try disconnecting and just use your cell connection.
Hi, I’m a network engineer. If you have to right next to your router you won’t have good connectivity. It’s a physics thing and yes some devices are better at overcoming the difficult physics situation created by placing it right next to the wireless antennas in your router.
Doesn’t make the camera bad though so long as it can connect at the place you’re going to have it (hopefully not desiring to to be next to your router)
@@LifeHackster interesting, that helped a little bit, but it is still unavailable most of the time.
@@ImaITman it’s not snugged up to the router, it’s 10ft from the router…
Please compare this with Tapo C325WB. Just only night vision without leds ON
Please make a video on RLC-823S1
We will see.
It's almost what I need I want 1 camera to cover the front of my house plus the driveway so I dont need 2 cameras this one might work
In the market with these 4k cameras and planning to put 12 cameras recording 24/7. Pardon my ignorance but curious how far of a playback can the Reolink RLN16-410 do?🤔
With your Argus 4 Pro mounted outside it does not look jagged lines around objects and is clear like 4K should be, I'm trying to determine the fault or problem in mine...
Great informative video as always. Do you know if this will with a REOLINK NVR? From looking at Reolink's chart for battery camera compatibility with NVRs I think it might be for some of the newer NVRs.
Not with their regular PoE NVRs.. I'm not sure on their WIFI NVR though but this is compatible with their home hub.
@@LifeHackster So the home hub works as an NVR replacement?
Maybe I missed it, but do you have a link to the Gutter Mount you used in this video? Thank you.

Bro, the light comes on when no one is there because a ghost is there 😅😂😅😂😅😂😅
No notification from Argus 4 pro camera. Please help!
Hi I have question: I have a RLC- 823A CAMERA, DO YOU THINK I CAN USE SOLAR PANEL & USE ONLY MEMORY CARD TO USE IT????? THANKS TO ANSER ME
No to solar panel and yes to micrSD card.
Damn, looks sharper than my Eufy 4K cameras. Did I make the wrong choice????
:) Reolink doesn't use a lot of compression than Eufy.
I also have Eufy. I'm going to hold my breath and see what Eufy comes out with next before casting judgement.
@@dontump2286but then you can wait to see what Reolink comes out with next after that then Eufy then Reo than Eufy, etc. it’ll never end if you go by that plan.
can you install the argus 4 pro on the gutter with just the Wasserstein 2 in 1 gutter mount or do you need the ring gutter mount as well?
Yes , I’m very curious about this also
Yes, just the Wasserstein. I just like how the Ring mounts that is why I used it in the video.
Came here to see how this night vision is since I see on the website that the pro does not have any IR lights unlike the non pro and every other night vision security camera. Im pretty impressed with how good it does in low light, but it still doesnt seem as good as having real IR. I wonder if its worth going for this new Argus 4 Pro, or just go with their regular duo 3 or whatever its called. (Or i guess the non pro with IR could work too).
Need a link to purchase the rain gutter mount , this would be perfect install for me , just not sure where to get them

Well if u have say like 2xTapo C120 that would give you 120x2 or 240 FOV and cheaper
From saudi 👍
Why battery and solar? There is no any with power supply?
With everything you have tested so far, what PoE cameras would you recommend?
Reolink CX410
On your test at 7:41, there is no solar panel, did you use regular AC power ?
Its own battery power.
What's the difference from a reolink home hub vs DVR? Just poe ports? Does the home hub act like the DVR if you already have a Poe switch?
I'm not sure yet but I think the hub works with their battery powered cams while the NVR doesn't.
I was going to straight up replace my 811, 822 and 820 with the CX810 but now I'm wondering if I should just do one and see how it goes. By the time they are available other models may possibly be out to replace say the 811. Plus I'd rather the dome version.
I'm waiting for the dome or turret version too..
I read that the 50 degrees vertical field of view is at the center of the LENS, not at the edges -- since it's two lenses stitched together, the middle of the stitched IMAGE is actually where the two ends of the lenses meet, i.e., way less than 50.
..but weird thing is that the Duo 2 wired or PoE is 60 degrees while the Duo 2 battery is only 50 degrees.
Is it possible to power it through ac plug? Since it’s a battery camera even with solar panel the detection speed is slow.
You can but it will still function as a battery powered camera.
I wonder if FoV is closer to Duo 3 or Duo 2, for me Duo 2 is at the limits at useable vertical FoV and Duo 3 is too extreme in width versus height so for me Duo 2 is more useful despite lower res, hope it's not something all future duo products will be limited to as the Duo 2 won't be around forever either.
It's a shame about the vertical height, looks quite similar to Duo 3 from what I can see so that makes it a no buy from me at least. Glad you mentioned this in the review as I feel Reolink probably doesn't listen that much to one critical view here and there but I bet they do listen to your comments though at least to some degree.
So can I use this with my Reolink NVR and have it record to the NVR like my other cameras?
Unfortunately, No… Reolink has the hub though which is designed for their battery cameras.
@@LifeHackster Well that's really unfortunate. I assume the hub does nothing the NVR can't do, other than make it so you have to buy another device to utilize them properly?
Kind of disappointed in the speed of the camera to respond. They advertise wifi 6 ready yet your testing showed that it took quite a while for the app to show the feed in fluent mode. Is it possible that your router is Wifi5?
Have you reviewed the Lorex cameras?
I have reviewed some of them in my channel.
Hey hackster, this is the deal. I have ring pay service and I would love to get rid off it, I need a combo cam the do the same as ring but without the subscription or if any way way cheaper the ring. I hope you have something for me. I have the spot light in my driveway a couple of indoor cameras and the door bell camara. Thanks a lot , your videos are always 🔥🔥🔥
Probably the eufy
Either Reolink or Eufy, I prefer the Reolink myself and I have both brands.
Eufy or Reolink or even Tapo. All of them doesn't require a subscription.
I wish the duo 3 had the same 1/1.8" F1 sensor...its so much better. I want PoE and wifi range isn't good enough.
I bet they will add that to that model soon.
@LifeHackster The Duo 3 only came out in February so I guess they won't replace it soon 😞
I know you did trackmix lik a year ago but can you please ask reolink if they can send you a TrackMix LTE And TrackMix LTE Plus it’s like 900 dollar value and it’s sold out

Do you have a link for the gutter mount that you're using?
I am also interested in it. Thank you for the video!
he mentioned in the video it's two components apparently both he mentions. one is the Wasserstein 2 in 1 mount from amazon (i have that) and then a ring mount.
I used the Wasserstein 2 in 1 gutter mount - amzn.to/3VCsGlU (Paid link)... now depending on your gutters, it might work pretty good but I like the Tripod type grip of the Ring gutter mount that is why I used the Ring on the mounting itself.. try the Wasserstein first.
I am waiting for your Riolink home hub review I will receive it today don't know if it will work for me but I can't find much information on it?
I will check and test it out soon.
Hi, I noticed your cameras are cristal clear without glitching…. I have a 16ch Reolink camera system with 7 RLC-811A cameras installed on it. My video footage be freezing especially when I have it on High What settings do you recommend in the streaming section for the Clear and Fluent
If you are streaming the live view, change it to fluent. The reason why it glitches is because of your connection to your phone. All the recordings BTW are still in full resolution and that is what you see in my video. I downloaded the recorded events.
@@LifeHackster I have switched it to fluent but the quality doesn't look good. Even when I look at my recorded videos they also glitch. Reading other forms I’ve noticed people change their resolution, frame rate and max bitrate and gotten good results. I’m not that familiar with those settings. I was hoping you had a certain set up or how to go about setting them up.
@@I-Marcano Fluent is for live streaming and on the recorded footage, when you download it to your phone, you have to change the setting to "clear"... to get the full resolution.
eyfy or Reolink?
Does it have routines for example can it be configured to stream to Alexa , Automatically like ring Does?
maybe ring works better since amazon owns them, but in my experience alexa routines are pretty buggy crap.
I haven't really tested the Alexa integration yet.
Shane it doesn't work with the nvr
I miss you saying Alex-A :)
LOL... I know.. I tried limiting it because there 's always a comment about it.
Is worth getting the hub? Or just the cameras
The hub doesn't support hard drives, It only has two 512gb micro sd card slots so it's not worth it imo, the pro version allegedly will have hard drives but it hasn't been announced yet
If you want more security for your footage, then the hub or the updated NVR (works with battery cams) will give you the peace of mind that is someone is able to get hold and steals your camera, you will have backup footage.
Can the video be cropped to normal 3480 x 2160 4K size instead of the 180 degree field of view?
Nope. This is basically 2-2K cameras side by side meeting the 4K width requirement to say it is recording in 4K.
Oh, that's a bummer. I think I'd be better off buying a Reolink Argus 3 Ultra then. Thanks for replying!
Thank you for review this camera , I was waiting to see how good this camera ,to me I think cx 410 better and notification lots faster.
Definitely, wired or PoE are better than battery powered ones.
What other brand of IP cameras work with Reolink NVR?
Reolink recommends using their NVR only with their cameras.
@@LifeHackster Understand but is there another brand that works with Reolink NVR? Like amcrest? Just curious I wanna try another IP camera brand.
Hey. I need to ask you if you know if any other company has the customer count like hikvision has. I want to put up some dvr cameras that also tell me how many customers entered the store
I haven't seen or checked one out yet. Reolink should add this to their NVR line.
@@LifeHackster like they are going to or should add it down the line.
I am looking at reolink but that feature is importantly to me to see when and how many customers enter the store and shop around with the heat map
@@sensnowy they wont brodie, you will have to get the hikvision stuff for that. Hikvision is 1000 years ahead of reolink in every sense tbh.
@@sensnowy they wont bro. Hikvision is way too advanced. They even have face decetction and recognition, and military grade shyt from star wars. Reolink will never catch up.
Can it connect to a reolink NVR?
To the Home Hub.. not the NVR.
The CX ones look better with ambient lighting but they aren't battery operated.
Reolink has the best picture quality on the market 👌👏
I agree.
Out of 7 Reolink cameras l bought 4 have problems after 2 years, failure to charge etc.
interesting product. pricey though. the pir detection to 40 meters is interesting as pir usually tops at 30 ft, compared to motion based poe cams up to 100 ft. one of the big disadvantages of battery cameras. i would have like to see more rigorous testing to confirm it wasnt a fluke and test beyond 40 meters, but i know you were out of yard. reolinks website doesnt advertise a longer pir range than usual, so maybe a fluke. the vertical fov issues probably make it a not buy. reolink like all the manfufactorers seem to put together a hodgepodge of good ideas, but they dont always make sense as a total product the way i'd like.
Not 40 meters... 40 feet. I know the Eufy SoloCam S340 does that too... I test them 3 times but.. as PIR sensor goes, it can change in time of the day and I guess the ambient temperature.
How the hell the power jack stayed waterproof when the rubber cap is open?
It seems that on the first 2 drops of water, the camera will go bye bye
The plug has a rubber seal and the rubber cap is out of the way when you insert it.
Does it have night vision
No IR Night vision
Argus 4 Pro vs Reolink Duo 3 ?
Wired will always win when compared to battery powered ones.
No PoE version? 😢
Not yet.
💐💐👍👍
I just got mine and I'm disappointed. I don't know if it's defective or something but mine has a massive blind spot in the middle. It just shows a split screen and they're facing off in two different directions.
In the settings -> display -> advanced -> image stitching, try adjusting it and see if it helps. It seems like you have a bad unit though.
@LifeHackster I tried that, it didn't fix the problem. I also contacted them and tried an update but still no fix.
Audio is good video is good. night vision is good.. 15fps? come on you can do better Reolink.. this "new" product just seems like a Reolink duo in a new shell..
