In this video, I upgrade the mirrors on my 2006 Ram 3500 with mirrors similar to a 2009 and newer ram trucks. With the cost of buying a new truck, I'm really looking at ways to get the most out of the truck I currently own.
If you don't have tow mirrors and were thinking about installing some on your Dodge Ram, the whole process took about 30 minutes to complete. There are four screws, and three nuts you have to remove. There are several different versions on the market, and mine were ordered off of Amazon.
I have several trailers and the factory mirrors just didn't give me the visibility I want to safely tow. I already noticed a huge difference in my ability to see my trailer when in reverse and backing the trailer into my driveway. Sure I could have put time and effort into repairing my current passenger side mirror, however the visibility offered by the new mirrors is safer, and it is easier to assess the trailers location and also monitor the load.
So far I'm very impressed, and wish I would have done this upgrade a long time ago!

Hi. Where did you get the mirrors?
I need to replace mine.
They both are wobbly and looks like they are falling out.
I'm using duck tape to steady them. Lol
Lol… mine were one step shy of needing duck tape! I ordered mine off Amazon. I didn’t want the side markers but you could probably wire those up pretty easy. From my understanding ram didn’t change much with the actual cab between the third and fourth gym so if you get mirrors for a 08 or 09 they should work with your third GEN truck and that’s what I did because I wanted wider view of the newer style mirrors.
