I couldn’t sleep and binged on your videos. Its like having a friend. I felt isolated living in a small town near Mount Fuji. I am very introverted and only talk to my Japanese hubby who is very introverted (I’m a NY-born hafu). My hubby has intense narrow interests he is absorbed in all day, like news, sports, stocks, gym and variety show, surfing net and looking at expensive cars online. I am one-pointed lover but he likes his interests more.
Thank you for being honest. You are right on schedule to feel like this. I did too. I’m about to turn 60 this week and am in a different place now. I feel privileged to be my age and realize all I have is the gift of time. It’s not guaranteed and no one knows how much time they have in their life. I am excited for each day and want to dispel my fears and act on what I want to do to make me happy.
Take your kids out and about in nature often, maybe that could help you to feel life a little more...? thank you for being so nice and share your views.
Happy Birthday! And I completely agree: My son turns 2 in a few days and the world he will grow up in doesn't at all resemble the world I grew up in throughout the 80s/90s. It's difficult to figure out how to give him a good & happy childhood while also preparing him for a tougher one. I do not know if I suffer from Andropause, but I think many of us feel anxiety about the future.
I think you are having a "mid life crisis" as we say in English. It is when you look at where your life has gone, and where it will go, and realize all the dreams you had as a young person will probably not come true and this is the best that your life may become. We all go through it -- I'm 55 and had a similar experience! But as my father told me, you eventually accept it and find happiness with what you have.
An another word to describe your feeling is "cynical." I will turn 50 next year. Because of things that happened to me as a young boy, I became cynical very early in life. I'm sad because I thought my cynicism would get better by 50 but I'm still waiting.
We suspect that all men in the world who have reached the age of 50 are suddenly startled and come to the realization that they are not immortal. So there is a slight panic reaction in this group of men and they indeed become more critical of everything and everyone. You don't have to worry about this new situation, because all people go through this at some point in their lives. When you find yourself being too critical and negative towards other people? Then remember that love conquers all! Showing empathy for other people is the solution and when you really notice that the problem transcends you? In that case, show a 'hands on' mentality! = Hit your right cheek hard with the flat of your hand! And think: 'Be normal for a moment, okay!' (that might help)
Check out testosterone replacement therapy especially if you’re always feeling tired, sluggish, lack of energy and having sexual effects. You can give yourself a shot once a week and you should feel much better. No reason to feel the effects of andropause at your age. Good luck!
Do you lift weights, do you do cardio? Can you try to see if you can change diet, sleep, excercise to boost T-levels? What about supplements like Ashwaganda, or fadogia agrelis etc, brazil nuts, more calories? I think a lot of Japanese diet is calorically deficient in some ways. Like if you only eat some rice or ramen and some gyudon a day. What about TRT therapy (hormone replacement)?
If you only eat out, you end up eating ramen, gyudon and stuff, but usually for most Japanese families, meals are very important, and we prepare nutritionally balanced meals with lots of veggies - especially when there are kids in the family.
@@Mikaela_Westmt Right but if the average guy of Japan only gets around 50g of protein a day and a low caloric diet then maybe could it be worth dialing that diet up x 4? So eat more protein and healthy fats and carbs since just healthy may not be enough of the healthy stuff
My Japanese hubby turning 60 in early August and he’s so upset lol. He also looks younger because he hardly worked and he is a gym rat. He will officially be an ojiiisan he said
Ha, Ha! We share the same zodiac sign. Let me tell you brother. You feel this way because at 50, you've seen life and all the bullshit. Find your passion, spend time with your family, and don't believe anything the government tells you. Have you ever thought of leaving Japan?

That's interesting to hear. Thanks.
I find your videos so refreshing and more interesting to watch than Japanese tv shows because of your honesty.
Thanks

I totally agree that I have been more cynical, which I hate the most

Maybe you need some therapy? Does it exist in japan? To talk to a specialist:psychologist or someone like this?

動画を約5つ見ましたが、どの動画でも「私は50歳ですが、若く見えると思います」と言っています。これはとても迷惑で、そのようなばかげたことを言うのはやめるべきです。
Well he does look younger than 50, so he’s just being reflected rather than boastful.
