A lot of characters just can't deal with Akuma
and lower health isn't a weakness when you do insane damage. It becomes an equal health game
make akuma have 5000 health, 9000 health is still too much health for akuma

His health makes him easy work if you properly guess his setups and stop him before he gets started.

I think hes potentially top 1. When you look at demon flip, air fireball, cancelable CrMK, his insane walk speed, his reliable defense, and how he uses the system mechanics well, hes phenomenal. But the problem he has is you can't be wrong. One big mistake or 3 or 4 little oops moments and you lost the round
his regular fireball is crazy too

6:45 it was my friend who was testing Marisa's damage on Akuma and did that combo LMAO. Couldn't stop laughing when he showed to me that amount of damage. One punish combo into CA and Marisa almost deletes Akuma from the game.
There's actually a 100% Marisa can do on Akuma. It's super situational and would never happen in real games, but it's possible.
The amount of times i anti air him, the air fireball hits me, then i got to watch myself get comboed because I barely got clipped by it you not gonna tell me he aint top 5

it's genuinely crazy how well balanced SF6 actually is, like they nerfed luke and he's still good, how many other games can say that where a top tier character gets successfully normalized like that
I’m happy for akuma to always be top 5 heck top 3 his broken in lore and the most popular fighting character in sf and one of the most popular in the fgc he deserves all the love ngl
You also got to keep in mind as well for DLC characters down the line, whether or not they might end up as more busted than Akuma or if not more. I'm not saying that it would but it could.
Imo, the thing about akuma that makes me think he's potentially top 5 is that he can fight anywhere. he has an ok corner carry but he has tools to keep the fight midscreen if he wanted to and he'll still be very active in offense. not a lot of characters can do that
Tokido is saving his best tech for EVO and the better tournaments. When new characters come out, as usual everyone plays them, which reveals a lot of their strengths and weaknesses. Tokido on the other hand, that man is a unit! He has none lol.
tokido didnt use akuma also because the japonese players in that tournament are ready for him . tachikawa sayed that he pratice alot vs akuma to win against tokido.
The spirit of the character is to be offensively spectacular no matter what game he's in. With caveats. Usually low health, ease of dizziness in some games, etc. He's a shoto which makes him accessible to many gamers in the genre, but you'll likely have a harder time trying to play defensively like you can with Ryu for example. He's where he should be. Top ten, maybe a little higher. Almost all characters are viable with enough skill though.

I really liked this type of videos, if you can do a breakdown on what makes the character you are reviewing good or bad, in a pro player perspective, it would be OD.
Abs let's also consider the "easeof use" of the character, maybe there will be broken characters that are hard to use and make user of their brokenness with the greatest of ease, which will make them fall in the list IMO.
In previous games, he was one of the rush down characters with good all around tools.
In this game, almost everyone can rush you down and cause huge damage, so having some health buffer actually makes a lot of difference.
There is almost no difference between having 1000 health left with full drive gauge and CA with having 7000 health but burnt out and no super.
He reminds me of USF4 Seth - where he has top tier tools but has volatile MU because of his health and stun.

1:37 Muscle memory for Ken is longer than getting used to another character, I play JP, Dee Jay, Zangief, Akuma and I struggle a bit of my muscle memory input for my characters as I am used to them.
Liking a character is not gonna make you main somebody. Bonding with the characters style is what makes the user main the character. For instance I like Akuma but I Feel Deejay more even though that nerf got him stumbling. It's the feel of the character not just some buy to win pick. That's for modern players
I feel like comparing Akuma to characters like Marisa and Geif isn’t too productive because those two have a lot of set backs they have to deal with were Akuma has very few.

*but has 1000 less health, which is a fireball. Thats it. The “big health nerf” everyone uses to excuse akumas 400 different tools, is the damage of a single fireball.

I think he’s definitely top five in my opinion he can inflict a lot of damage with his combos my only concern is his health going up against other characters like Marisa zangief and anyone else who can do a bunch of damage
Akuma taking a lot of the spotlight ... But everyone ignoring Ryu in season 2.
Below diamond or plat i think me is considered top 3-5. Past that, he is probably just top 10. He is harder to deal with at lower levels. Folks don't have the time to study his plus moves or barely negative moves. Plus all his mix ups and pressure. He is stomping casuals and maybe casual+.
hes a pretty good character but his hit confirms changing based on the opponent being crouching or standing is a big problem, if they crouch his damage output goes down a lot unless you spend a lot of meter or have them near the corner and then his meaty options are decent but don't really give big payouts compared to someone like ken or deejay or luke, he seems to be very neutral focused but his drive rush speed is a bit on the slower side. hes still top tier but when money is on the line you don't wanna have to worry about silly things like if you hit your opponent standing or crouching to do a bnb or stubby buttons whiffing

i dont think this akuma is super top tier he is probably a good Atier because he does the same damage as top tiers but he doesnt have the old teleport. and his shungokusatsu is not like old akuma that thing alone will eat 50% of ur life, now is comboable but it doesnt do atrocious damage
Raw Shun Goku Satsu DOES deal nearly 50% (4700)-but of course in a combo, that can go as low as 2350 at max scaling.
If you link into it off of a single normal like HK which keeps it at 100% scaling, it's 5500 damage.

I think cause this game is so explosive the lower health actually does matter a lot. Also his DR isnt all that fast or far which is the only real hole I can see with his tools. But he has a lot of tools and probably will take a few months for him to develop

Honestly I feel like he has even less health now than what he had in SF5, lol. Just a little bit more would be great in the future because yeah, he's strong, but I think they went a little too far with the amount of health they gave him.
Akuma has low health because he can legit two touch any character in the game. He has to have low health so his opponent can have a chance. I think Tokido just isn't confident to use Akuma in tournaments yet.
Considering Ryu's recent state, I think Akuma is even weaker than Ryu right now.

i think diagos akuma is honestly better than tokido from what ive seen doesnt seem like tokido is enjoying the character since he isnt playing in tourneys

Akuma always been a strong character with the trade off his health is usually low or one of the lowest. To me, he's a high risk, high reward fighter.

Idk, i think ken is still better. One thing for me im not sure about everyone else but something about akuma feels off. He doesnt feel as smooth to play as compared to the rest of the cast. I might just be trippin but he feels slightly clunky compared to other characters

While I think Akuma can dominate certain matchups (mostly thanks to his OP fireball), he isn't that "broken" imho.
He is strong, top ten? prolly, but still I think Ryu is stronger in almost everything without the health penalty.
