John Deacon is the embodiment of a friend loyal to the end.
I agree with Deacon. When Freddie died, it was over. Queen was over. Nobody could replace Freddie, and nobody could replace John. Thats the fact!! The two left members, Roger and Brian, could have used the name FORMER Queen and this and this singer. Deacon had this right all the time!

Paul Rodgers
I think he has a perfect voice for blues based rock. His success with Free and Bad Company has more than proved this.
However, his tenure at Queen was almost cringe.
Rodgers lacked Mercury's top end vocal range and was too shy to live up to Freddies stage performance!

I agree with Robert Plant on not wanting to reform Zeppelin and play as a three piece.
Plant was honest when on an Australian 60 Minute 2012 segment said, "we'd' only be a cover band without Bonzo."
Listen, when you've been to the mountaintop and seen just about everything that there is to see from there, I mean the man left at the right time, when they were at their peak. The band's hold on the crowd with their Live Aid performance was fascinating.to see and to listen to.There'll never be another band quite like Queen. Deacon exited stage right at the correct time and for the right reasons. Hold him up to praise him but also to respect where he was coming from, a paragon of rock.

John Deacon came up with some of the most iconic bass lines in rock history. "another one bites the dust". "under pressure". etc etc etc. live your life John. and thanks.

@@danfoss1535 I understand that filling the shoes of Freddie is impossible. But Adam is an incredible singer and in any other situation people would say that. However due to him singing with queen (who are such a talented band) he will never be some fans cup of tea. However we should trust Brian and Roger as they have chosen him to bring Queens unique music and message to another generation and we should be so grateful for that.

Deacon was right. They never replaced Freddy. May and Taylor should not have continued under the name Queen. It could have been Queen 2 or something.

@@bentonquest4184 They would have done a lot of people a favor if they wouldn't have recorded those songs anyway. Sheer heart attack was the only album for real rockers. Queen was extremely overrated, but everyone has their own opinion regardless of how lame it may ultimately be.

They are just carrying on the legacy of Queen now, and I love it. Adam Lambert says every night that he is not Freddie, and he’s not trying to be. He’s just paying tribute to Freddie and the music. If you don’t like it, who cares? Don’t listen.
