I enjoyed this game a lot, but I can’t defend the dlc characters not being able to participate in festivals. It’s a huge oversight that needs updated- especially for the price the dlc was.

When I heard the DLC candidates couldn't wear costumes I felt so disappointed. I was so looking forward to dressing up Neil in a puppy costume. :(
@Kαοгυ Hιταснιιη 「常陸院光と馨～常陸院の双子～」 I agree completely. I don't think POOT is a terrible game by any means, but it's definitely inferior to the 3DS SOS games by a long shot. I've been playing the first story of seasons lately, and I must say, it's a really good game and far more enjoyable than this one.
Um u do realize that marvelous & xseed update the game in November 29 2021 so the dlc marriage candidates can join in the festival only if u married to them
I just wish they would go back to how animal parade was and restoring the word and saving the harvest goddess. I played all the harvest moon and story of seasons games and animal parade is still my favorite.

Animal parade was one of my fav Harvest moon/Story of season game. I always wish that stuff from this game will come back in future Story of Season games!

@@kaydee2976 Ugh, same. I was excited to see an actual mine again! The changes to fishing are genuinely enjoyable! And I was SO HYPED to have same-gender romance in the game, you have no idea. If those elements had been put on the core farming mechanics and characterization of Trio, I would love it! But instead, we got a game that completely bungles the two most important elements - farming and NPC characterization and interactions.
There's like no incentive to talk to any of the characters in the dlc areas unless you intend to marry one of them. It SUUUUUUUUCKS. I wish they were at least attached to olive town and the areas were built as part of olive town growing. it creates a reason for the characters to even move to olive town too. anyway the main draw for me was the new costumes and also just having more content. but there's so little content.... sigh...

They even had a Path that was Blocked off in the north of Olive Town they could have used, but NOOOOOOO.
I got this game just to scratch the Farming Itch I had while I wait for Rune Factory 5. I have to say, THE ITCH WAS NOT SCRATCHED.
Wait a second is that path just forever unused??? Is this the unused shed from HM: A Wonderful Life all over again??
I think that path is the one we use to get to the town when we first get there. Because, when the motorcycle breaks down at the beginning, it is near the shrine.
That's so freaking sad, the game map is already super sparse with how it's basically just your farm and the town....they couldn't have saved that road for some cool off shoots? ;w;

@@thekimfiles SV is fun but the "grindiness" can be quite overwhelming esp combined with the time constraint. Rune factory 4 is more chill you can skip sleep and do all the grinding you need to do. But overall both are good.
I want to see Story of Seasons grow and create good games like they used to, like for the Wii and DS and the PlayStation. Trio of Towns was good, but they dropped the ball on Olive Town. I hope they can come back from this in the next installment. I enjoyed Mineral Town Remake but I didn't get as much from it as I would have liked.
I still play Trio of Towns. I want a switch upgrade.
Trio of towns feels like the best game they have come out with between features and characters. I played olive town but could not get into the game at all… I felt no attachment to the characters, the lack of character reaction art hurts a lot.
Trio of Towns and the game that came before it were good.

I love the first story of seasons and TOT. Yeah, I really wish they would have gone the same direction with this game. Maybe Rune Factory 5 will make up for this though. At least, that's what I'm hoping for.

It's sad that the game turned out this way. Especially since I enjoyed the FOMT remake so much. Hopefully Rune Factory 5 will help marvelous get back on their feet after this.
True, trio of towns was such a good game, if they had even taken the slightest bit of inspiration from that game olive town could have been better, it had so much potential but it came out as the worst game of the story of seasons series loll
Why is olive town censored ???
To me Olive Town has been a major disapointment, I wanted to give the game the benefit of the doubt even after removing portraits, but to me the characters are simply not expressive enough to warrant the removal of portraits and additionally the camera angle when talking to said character simply would not even show any expressivenes (if they had any). I think the charaacter design in general (as seen in the characters pictures, not in game) are really great but I think the graphic is not nearly good enough to do the drawn designs justice. The DLC are really not helping at this point, moreovr I feel like I wasted a lot of money on the game and dlc.
Personally, while I still enjoy this game for what it is, it definitely isn't as good as past SOS titles. I even prefer the FOMT remake over this game. I really hope Marvelous can redeem themselves with Rune Factory 5 to make up for this lackluster SOS game.

this series has been going down for like 10 years. the first lot of harvest moon games were amazing, harvest moon DS and harvest moon a wonderful life were incredible games. it started going downhill around trio of towns imo.
@@kittygirl19191 imo harvest moon peaked at animal parade on the wii. not only is it my favorite harvest moon but it had such a big scope and had soo much charm. the games that came after like the first story of seasons were good don't get me wrong, but it felt like less of an evolution and more of them playing it safe

@@Kairos_Akuma What’s even more depressing is that the Harvest Moon games are actually making progress from what they used to be, SoS somehow managed to fall down a cliff with the release of this. Was it just to release it on their anniversary? Because it really could have been a lot better than celebrating your birthday with opening an empty box rather than a present, and it’s even more disappointing than someone saying that you’ll get your present later even though they’re saying that now. Oops we didn’t mean to make an empty box we’ll put in something… eventually.
I wasn’t able to get the dlc because I was tight on money. At first that made me sad but after seeing the reactions to the dlc I’m kind of happy I wasn’t able to buy it.
I only got the seasonpass because of the clothing because i don't like the standard clothing or the ones you can make for the female MC.
I agree I wish they did something better with these characters. Instead of just lazily sticking them in a separate isolated area. With nothing special going on. So far this game has not surpassed or even caught up to how great trio of towns was.

Yoshifumi Hashimoto got kicked off of his own creation again because Marvelous saw the big SDV bucks and said, "Nope, we need full control over this, see ya," even though they don't understand what fans love about the HM/SoS Franchise. I'm honestly afraid he's done with the franchise entirely, because he keeps having it ripped away from him.

I haven't bought it because of reviews... it doesn't look fun. it feels like olive town is a stardew parody which is sad... Stardew was inspired by Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons. you would think they would work to be fun and unique. not attempt to compete with their junior.
I haven't even played Olive Town since March, and I honestly regret buying the deluxe edition for $70. It might be one of my least favorite Bokujou/Story of Seasons game ever, and that hurts to admit. 😔
It definitely feels like such a downgrade from Trio of Towns now that I've played it. This game is low on the tier list for me mainly because it really didn't try anything cool or crazy like past games, and it's core gameplay was messed up because of poor design choices 😔 we just needed 1 of the 2 for it to be decent but we got neither

I bought this game and the expansion pass and I haven’t played it in months 😕 I’m kind of shocked at how lackluster the expansion pass is. I had such high hopes.
God, I completely understand. It makes me worried for when the 3ot characters come over since I personally love Ludus but... He's just gonna be a cardboard cutout of himself. Poot Ludus won't be 3ot Ludus after I saw how boring they made these characters compared to their prior versions. Yeah, I'm peeved that the areas aren't shit to write home about, but at least the reason for going there could've been worth it if they put time in the characters.
I think in this case its legit to expect something more then we got. Because: They did it before, look at Trio of towns. They were able to do it, but they did not do it. In my point of view, that had the option to do more, then they did in previous entrys but they dropped the ball. And ruined probably their own reputation, almost as bad as Harvest Moon did. Which is a shame, as i am a fan of Story of Season since the first entry and purchased this game day 1, stopped playing it, because i wanted to wait for the expansion. Just to find out, it changes basically nothing. The new characters are not even a reason to get it, because if i want to marry them, i could play the game where they are in and have an better overall experience. But i wanted to see, how the old characters would interact with the current ones. The same as Rune Factory did in some regard. Its a shame.
Maybe a few years back they would got away with this, but now with all the other options like Stardew Valley, My Time in Portia or hell, even Sakura rice and ruin, they really needed to step up their game. Literally.

I've been scathing of this game since it first came out. As soon as I first checked the detective DLC my hopes of any improvement were dashed, and then crushed a little more when the first marriage candidate DLC dropped.
Honestly, though, other than having spent money on an empty DLC (twice!), my biggest complaint is that they made the farming so empty. Yeah, the characters are a little better now, but they're not as important as the farming. It's just so empty and unrewarding.
My biggest concern now is that Marvellous have already said they are keeping their relationship with Three Rings, the folks they outsourced this game to, and I'm not entirely convinced they will make any future games up to standard should they be in charge of the next Story of Seasons. But I am just borrowing trouble in that regard.
Man there was so much potential with this game! What if each area had its own story DLC and not just conversations with marriage candidates but like actual stuff to do? Like for instance what if they gave you seeds or animals that you had to raise and get to a certain heart level or star ranking with? There could have been one new shop in each area that specializes in items from that area.
Your channel made me buy Trio of Towns, and I'm not super far in but it's way more satisfying than PoOT

as a lifelong fan of the series, I was SO EXCITED for a story of seasons game for the switch - especially after I had so much fun playing the mineral town remake. in the end I never even bought this game and don't plan to after everything I've heard. after hearing there would be dlc, I got my hopes up again, only to once again decide not to buy the game... I'm just so disappointed
It's such a shame because I LOVED the Mineral Town remake, it was such a solid, well made game imo. The fact that it was followed up by this is crazy. Every time I got back to the mineral town remake now I'm shocked at how pretty it is and how well it runs
What a lazy, lazy piece of "work." The game world was undersized to begin with, so these areas should have been part of the original release. And what's the point of having the little vendor stands in Terracotta Oasis if you can't buy anything from them? They should have had different seeds or items for sale. Maybe a festival unique to each of these new locations. Marvelous no longer cares a bit about this franchise beyond its ability to generate pre-order sales.

Yeah, I regret buying SoS:FoMT(also Streets of Rage 4, 198X & Florence, spending my first $99 eshop fund) at full price. I was a noob then, now I always wait until games are discounted at leat 50% to buy.
The expansion pass was kind of disappointing because I was looking forward to the areas and the fact that they were so empty was very sad. It’s like I spent money just for the extra outfits 😭
Thanks for this video Wilder! I regret preordering PoOT for $79.99 AUD and the DLC for around $25 AUD. I've been an avid supporter of the Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons franchise ever since Harvest Moon DS and have purchased every single game since (excluding the newest HM games released after SoS). After playing PoOT for 60 hours I can say that this is by far this is the worst game in the franchise, it's basically an empty and lifeless shell of a game that has no lovable features. The cons that I have for this game greatly outweigh any pros I had in mind. I also purchased the DLC thinking that it would add more gameplay but the only thing it added was animal costumes that made it even harder to recognise the marriage candidates and areas that you could tell were placed in the game in a quick rush. I hope Rune Factory 5 doesn't disappoint me as much as PoOT has.
Having a separate area that acts like your farm would have been cool but I love the idea of having these areas off to the side of Olive Town. It would help to build up the area more since it's just the town and your farm. Plus the path that leads to the towns could have had trees and rocks to break and stuff to collect. I feel like this could have been so easy to do well but it just turned out as a disappointment
The areas are just so lifeless and empty. I was only one time there and than forgot the areas even existed.
The game has some good aspect. I especially like the mine or decorate the farm. But almost every feature has a but that makes it less enjoyable. My list of cons is far longer than my list of pros and it is at this point my flop game of 2021. I still can't believe that they thought it would be okay to release it they way it is. If you want to have a beautiful decorated farm for example you have to life with it that the game runs horribly. There is no reason it runs so poorly on switch when you see other more graphically demanding games have no problem with it.
I was so excited for the DLC that I even waited to play more of the game, and it added NOTHING. Biggest disappointment ever. I haven’t even been to either location a second time. This game in general really let me down 😭
Same here! I stopped playing my main file to wait for the DLC but after seeing it I just stopped playing all together until my last stream when we went to the terracotta oasis
This is disappointing, I think you say it right when you say it's a cage to hold the characters. Trio of towns' dlc might only have added 2 characters but at least they were integrated IN the towns, and it was much cheaper. So many of the problems of pioneers, the dialogue, the makers and the performance weren't in trio of towns. It's such a letdown.
Let's hope rune factory is better when it launch.
I'm so disappointed with this game. I was incredibly excited to play it and I spent all this money on it and the DLC and it's just this empty, effortless shell using the Story of Seasons name for a few bucks.
If Rune Factory 5 is like this I think I'm done supporting anything video game related forever
RF5 has some fairly bad performance issues, and there are some things that were in RF4 that aren't in RF5 that I really missed as I played. But despite it all, I couldn't put the game down. Since the west won't have all of the performance issues that were in the JP version I don't think you need to worry about it at all. It's a pretty solid start to Switch based RF games.

Remember when Trio of Towns added DLC that...added new events? Enriched the towns? Provided actual content? I think I've given up on going back to Olive Town at this point and I thought maybe the DLCs would add demeaning to hold my interest...but no. Guess I'm just marking time for RF5 and My Time at Sandrock at this point now 🤷♀️
what a shame, i really wanted to like this game. hopefully this will be a learning experience for marvelous and they'll do their best to give us a good game in the future. at least we have rune factory 5 to look forward to for now!

I’ve played almost all of the harvest moon/story of season games. And although I’m not a huge fan of every single one of them, they all still had that Recognizable charm in the characters, and world. But this game has literally nothing ,it’s so bland. I really hope the patches can fix it enough to be fun again, but I won’t hold my breath.
Glad I checked out some reviews before wasting my money. I’m happy to just stick with the (slightly) boring Olive Town characters rather than spending money on dlc that’s just for marriage. Thanks!

I started to love olive town after the updates they made but it was a slow process! I really struggled enjoying this game at the beginning and it wasn’t until the 1.6 update that I really got into it! Now I’m debating on buying the expansion pass but ONLY because I want to marry Ludus... it’s a tough debate though because why spend $20 to marry one character
I regret spending extra on the DLC because I'm probably gonna never use any of it....I hate the costumes and I think I'd prefer to marry someone whos actually immersed in the world
I loved a new beginning. Maxed out everything and married the Witch Princess! Preordered it to get the big cow and they sent it to me a week early so it was extra challenging without Ushi no Tane to help at first.
I was thinking about getting this game, but I think I will pass... unless they add some major improvements :/
I haven't been to windswept falls since the first time I visited it and after I married Iris I stopped going to terracotta oasis. I'm sad they didn't do more with these areas or characters. I was really excited to get new areas with new content but was let down big time.
I'm worried that SoS is on a downward trend while Harvest Moon at least is stepping up their game whether we think OW was great or not.
I really want to love this game, but it’s disappointing. I went back to play the first story of seasons and it felt so alive and had so much charm. I really hope they somehow update things to be better. Until then, I’ll be happily waiting for rune factory and replaying old sos games
So with the recent waves of discounts as of end of September of 2021, I was between buying Atelier Riza or SOS to try something out.
Since normally in CZcams I have only seen the reviews from when it shipped, I was discussing with myself on whether to buy one or the other, then out of nowhere found your video and guess I'm going to try the Atelier series instead. Thanks for the honest review after release and the DLC!

Don't @ me but I really like this game... I enjoy playing it a lot and gave me a lot of hours of fun. Anyways I still don't have the dlc, I think I will wait until we can see all the expansions.

As a player of the old harvest moon series, I was expecting the seasons series to have just as much story content and item progression as the older version. So far, I am dissatisfied with the way things are going. The thing I hate most is the hitbox that makes it so that you will sometimes miss the tree or rock and waste the timer.

I'm not sure if I had expectations that were set too high for this game, but I was honestly kind of disappointed? I don't think I have played through a year of gameplay because it just was so lackluster. I bought the expansion pass hoping it would add to the game but it was just $20 spent on absolutely nothing :( I loved FOMT and Trio of Towns, but this one fell through for me :/ I was hoping that if I put it away and came back to it in a few months it would be more fun, but that has not occurred yet. I hope they take the feedback from this game and use it to make something better!
I picked this game back up recently after falling off of it before I got to check out the DLC and as someone who's not interested in romance with the added characters, I was really disappointed and I wish I hadn't spent my money on the DLC. I loved the mineral town remake and olive town has a place in my heart as my first new SoS game, I just hope they can learn from what went wrong.

Yea the dlc place and characters feel very disconnected from the town and empty, brings nothing to the table. Bought the game in bundles, paid more because dlcs included, play it for a few days and still not coming back to it in almost a month. I literally played BtN, WL and FoMT for almost 24hrs everyday when it came out years ago. what happened to this series ?? Even all that extra money for dlcs still cant save it 😖😵. It's feel worst when i realised i actually spent more time playin Save the Homeland than this.
I may not have the game, yet, but it is quite disappointing how little they added. I'm still sold on Raeger, haven't played the game he is from, but in PooT he's voiced by Clifford; who voices Bakugou sooo... imma sold owo

I loved a New Beginning. But...Neil needed to chill with the cutscene xD I never went into town when he opened.
For some reason, I thought the expansion areas were going to be like a mini-version of the towns that also expanded your own farm. So like an area that allowed you to farm and customize, like I remember the cool rice paddies in A New Beginning, give us a small area to grow crops with the theming from these games and some craftable decorations too.
Rune Factory 5 will hopefully save us
I've been a fan of the series (old school HM to SoS) for about 20 years now, and it sucks to say but I will probably wait a while before I buy another SoS game if this is the kind of quality we're expected to get going forward. My goodwill for a game series can only extend so far, and the Devs already struck out once with this game's poor quality control and planning, and the fact that they announced DLC for this game already knowing that it was about as finished as unbaked bread, and that the poor Japanese player base has to deal with Rune factory having the SAME quality control issues and bugs.
Sooo, now that we all know Poot isn’t all it was chalked up to be, is it really any better than HM one world? From what I hear, OW has worse graphics but it looks like it has more to do tbh. This was my first mainline SOS game and I’m kinda disappointed; I really enjoyed the Doraemon game and even Fomt!

For 60 bucks I feel like I was betrayed. This game is an expensive regret.
God yeah opening this game after a couple months was like... genuinely depressing. I had been waiting for the maker changes, and some DLC to come out since I really didn't like the game when it started. My mild OCD meant that 100% of my time playing the game was checking and refilling my makers. Didn't help that the characters were lifeless and made me feel like I was in a dystopian nightmare even more lmao. Three solid days of NPCs talking about that spring festival and an egg hunt... and then you actually get to the event... and it's a series of extremely slow-paced cutscene images... it was so insulting. Stopped playing there.
Then finally opening the game up to check out the DLC and just... wow. I had seen everything in about 10 minutes. I was expecting at least some sort of significant cutscenes to introduce these new areas. It also feels weird and coldhearted that it just *poof* adds it to the boat behind our house. Like... I know it's more walking but it would've been kinda cute to use the harbor in town. But nope, just some extremely empty areas and cardboard people who also say essentially nothing and half the time you can't see their face at all because they are turned around. (like all the characters)
I don't think it helps that past games in Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon, and Rune Factory all used character portraits, so it taught us that characters without portraits don't matter. Those were always the randomized single-day-visit characters with no names. So, this games has all their characters feel that way and it feels like a waste of my life to talk with them.
I had such high hopes for this game, and it has disappointed me on every single front lol. I am so sad I bought it and the DLC as a preorder. Never again, lol. I am glad some people out there are getting some joy out of it, but as a person who works in video games, every aspect of this game depresses me and sucks the joy out of my soul. Lolol weeeee thanks for the video, glad to see other people upset tbh!

I would have like to see the characters offer new things to the player like, Felicia and Raeger can give you new recipes depending on your relationship with them that are only exclusive to the dlc. Raeger could even have a mini outside restaurant that he could serve them at. Or Neil could have special animals for sale that produce new things that can be useful to the player. Marian could offer over the counter medicine that increases Stamina or gives you boosts. Or maybe Ludus and Lissette could sell you new flower seeds and furniture. Youd have a reason to go back to these places and it adds more to the characters than just boosting your relationship with them and nothing more

I was really surprised to hear about Pioneers of Olive Town releasing this year and quite happy upon learning about the DLC mostly because Ludus was my favorite candidate from Trio of Towns. However, having seen what the first two areas are offering (what little that is), I'm just really sad about this being the first original Story of Seasons for the Switch. What I'm hoping is that they're learning from players' comments on what works and what could be improved for the next installment. At least, I'm HOPING there will be another Story of Seasons installment in the future. They have nowhere to go but up following the 6-7 rating for Pioneers of Olive Town (and that's being generous).

As someone who's been waiting to buy this game in its complete state, this is a bummer. After the FoMT remake, I was so eager to see how we'd follow into the next evolution of the series. Then comes in the rough launch. But at least with pledges from the devs that gave me faith we'd get something special eventually. At this point though, it looks like it's gonna stay a mixed bag. I like the idea of the new mechanics and the official art (with no portraits to show off) looks gorgeous but everything else seems hit or miss.
I'm not a big fan of Brandon or Jennifer from the remake but I would've thought with how their scenes, and daily schedules are lined up with the rest of the cast that we'd have better integration with this dlc's cast. I thought the appeal would be not just to see your returning faves but to see how they mesh with the new environment. As someone with no attachment to these folks I even liked the idea of marrying one but seeing as they're so separate from the core experience, I'd probably be better off with the main cast.
And while I don't mind the area problems as much, it's baffling nonetheless. It looks uniform enough that you'd expect to see it as an extension to the main town. If we're gonna treat it as it's own land, than we need a wilder change in aesthetics with more to do in it. With how the expansion pass was plotted out before launch, I'm willing to believe this was the course of it before the devs had to start patching up the game. But with another price tag attached and the progress still to be made on the main game, I'm not holding hopes that this will get any better.
I realize that this is an extensive rant for someone who hasn't even played the game but I hope it shows how much I anticipated and still want to see this game succeed. If nothing else, I hope the issues here can become lessons that'll improve later games. In the meantime, I can try out Sakuna.
Completely agree - the DLC areas are so incredibly disappointing...and it's so frustrating because you know there would have been more. Completely wasted opportunity!

Well said, Wilder. I can't agree more. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one who felt this way-it still sucks, but it's good to know others are just as disappointed as I am with the game. The DLC is extremely underwhelming. When I first walked through Windswept Falls I thought we could at least forage or cut trees...there's NOTHING to do there except talk to the characters which, am I the only one who finds it creepy Dunhill's living with a little girl...is she at least a relative? I thought she'd be living with Felicity?
Super sad with this game in general, and if anyone's interested in a good "similar to the older Harvest Moon games" type, I recommend One World. They actually hit a home run with that one. I enjoyed it so much I put hundreds of hours into it and still go back to play it when I get bored of whatever new games I pick up. Their season pass content not only came with a brand new area where you can set up your farm, it added new seeds, new items, new forageables and new recipes as a result. Oh, on top of the two new marriage candidates. Which includes a really interesting side quest story to help them. Oh and a new mine on the DLC island.
Really feels like SoS missed a great opportunity here and now I'm leary to buy their next title. Also it was expensive for the season pass and it's just such a let down.
Also on a side note, I was hoping these expansion pass areas would allow us to build a little cottage, have a small farm land, anything! Really I can't believe how far from their original amazing titles they fell on this one.

I apparently lost my game months ago, and I didn't even realize until last week. That's how little I care about this game. I'm not even sure I care that I lost the game outside the fact I can't sell it to get back some of my money. This is the worst SoS for me since Grand Bazaar.
I really like the game and had a lot of fun on my farm, but I’m pretty disappointed that I bought the dlc. When they said new areas I expected like a shop or some new activity there. Heck even a new mine to explore would be better :(
I did like the mystery files but like I haven’t even picked up the game to visit the second new area because I hear it’s not worth it.

And they didn’t even try to create new album portraits for the DLC characters in this game it seems like. Granted I haven’t played all the DLCs’ origin games, but I know enough that those are reused assets at the very least.
Even with letting that slide, what’s up with the jarring difference in their portrait sizes alone though ? For example, Raeger’s look so tiny and faraway compared to those of Olive Town folks’
I Recently purchased this game and so far I’m enjoying playing it however after watching your review I think I’m going to pass on the DLC. I thought the same thing, like being able to explore new areas and forge new items but if that’s not the case then it’s not worth the money for the DLC. Thanks for the review

It's sad that you can't even buy anything useful in the dlc areas, there are no shops. It feels like a expensive garage for marriage candidates. But I also think the "make our town prettier"-thing for the Mayor does nothing. Little to no (at least visual) improvements, it's too easy with only 1 of 3 things you have to give them and it adds nothing except a little story. I miss the big stories that you could follow without a pause, like in tree of tranquility. But it feels so context-empty and more like "here is your base, now play on your own".
Glad that I didn't buy this game. Don't get me wrong, I was so excited before the game was released, but after watching your gameplay, it didn't hook me at all. I still love my SOS FOMT and Doraemon SOS though. Having said that, I am hoping the game would be released on Xbox and on the Gamepass service, so I can enjoy a bit of this game without regret spending money on it.
For me the biggest problem with the game is the constant tree and grass growth. Like I get we need the material but like damn let my land look clean and put together enough so I can actually plan where to put my stuff
Oof and I got the game on release with the DLC's waiting for those to be implemented in before I played again in hopes of it making it better sadly doesn't look like it went through a harsh break up even and normally I go to harvest moon/story of seasons to ease up an aching heart break and continued to wait seems like I should play one of the old story of seasons or even the old harvest moon games to get my fix sad beans

Maaaaaan am I really thinking to myself that the HM: One World DLC had more to do in it than one of the DLCs here..? At least in addition to adding two romance-able characters and animals to befriend, there’s additional crops (and different style of plot to accommodate said crops) and a full-blown mystery to solve about the new area.

If you could not tell from my avatar I too am one of those who is a hardcore Harvest Moon ANB fans. It is the only HM or SoS game where my animals died from old age.

I think im one of few that actually liked poot, maybe its because i waited for the patches when i heard about the makers i waited for a fix theres no way a game developer playtested it and didnt realise how awful that system was, but its fixed so now its good
I do want to start with I am glad when people are able to enjoy things and this is just my feelings about it.
The seed maker is still awful imo, and they give very little incentive to deal with it or the breeding mechanic.
I was so happy seeing raeger come. Going back and forth giving him presents and gushing how cute he is. Then the lantern fest come...I was like 'yesss, gotta ask raeger!', but I remember dlc people aint going to the fest :( sad sad sad

Trio of Towns was one of my favourites because I went into it thinking I'd marry the doctor Ford or the Japanese guy with the blue hair Yuzuki... but ended up totally falling in LOVE with Hinata ;.; he charmed me so badly with his cute little artwork and how easily embarrassed he was.
There were surprises! Loads to do, loads of places to unlock... jobs to do, people to talk too that were INTERESTING. If you're not going to emote your characters other than waving a hand about when they talk, then give us the artwork back. The characters in Olive town have as much personality as a blank piece of paper.

I dont understand why they have us traveling there via boat by our house when one of the main narratives of Olive Town was to make the town presentable enough that people from all over would want to visit. I forget her name but the one marraige candidate just stands at the booth by the docks and does nothing LOL. Why cant the characters come in through those docks ugh. It makes me sad cuz i love OG Harvest moon and Story of Seasons - like I said before i wanna like this game so bad LOL.
The maker machines, while improved, are still so ugly and mess up making the farm spaces look good. I wish we could construct a maker building to shove all these machines away theyre such an eye sore.
As for marraige candidates i am goin for Ralph since he looks most like my husband LMAO its not like there is much personality variation to choose otherwise 😅
I really wanted to enjoy this game but I have been way underwhelmed by it. Between the loading taking forever, the constant lag even when I didn’t decorate my farm, the way the cooking functioned and recycled animations, the infuriating makers that they did at least fix but it took them so long I was no longer interested in the game. No where really to explore and I really just didn’t connect with any of the characters. The art style even just really says mobile game to me. Idk if I’m just being harsh but I tried I put about 15 hours into it and then couldn’t make myself come back to it.
I am still playing thru this game and really enjoy it but was disappointed in how the DLC characters arent in festivals, and it’s a missed opportunity they didn’t add foragable items in the DLC areas like flowers/fruit/etc. it feels bland. :((
