Usual wokeness aside, one of the things that ticked me off about the game awards the most other than wokeness was the over abundance of CGI trailers, not just CGI trailers, but most of the CGI trailers shown were trying to be "Family friendly" as possible with little to no references to violence or sexual content. Even those upcoming M rated games tried to be "Family Friendly", during the game awards. Really goes to show how soft the industry has become.
Back in my day, game trailers would actually showcase gameplay,even if the trailers were shown to be cinematic, they were still pure gameplay. Sometimes they were just straight up gameplay with BARELY any cinematic editing. Look at burnout paradise's launch trailer and car crash trailer for cinematic editing but still gameplay and actually shows what the game actually is. You can tell they were targeting THE FANS of the game, not some Hollywood bozos

EFAP had E;R on multiple times and he puts footage of Hitler speeches in his videos. EFAP as a whole has several inside jokes that are basically dogwhistles, such as them using "massive" to mean a gay person and "ewoks" to mean black. "Rules for thee, but not for me" comes to mind over this drama.

From the few EFAP's I've seen where YT videos were involved they always just took the video and reacted/replied to it and maybe a related follow up video. The fact that Mauler had to break the usual format and spent over a days worth of hours watching the vods and editing things together to discredit Synthetic man ironically discredited his own "arguments".
I'm not really a "fan" of either, I watch a few Synthetic man vids and I'll watch an EFAP every now and then if the topic is interesting or if they have a fun guest.

The Bride was for vengeance, because she thought they killed her baby. She found a drive to do more with her life, which her family disowned her for.

@@Akira-Strider It's all just suspension of disbelief and what breaks it, for most people seeing physically strong women who can overpower the strongest male counterparts is far beyond their ability to suspend their disbelief because they're logical people.
You can have overpowered females very easily and Japanese games/anime do it all the time but they purposefully avoid having them be brutish and physically strong.
The vast majority of the examples you'll see in an anime for example, will be them being strong in a totally fictional power system which I have no problem with since it doesn't map onto anything from IRL, physical strength does and as a result looks ridiculous.
They could also write them to be particularly smart characters but the problem with that is the fact that the authors who desperately want to insert women into everything tend to be absolute morons themselves so good luck having a drooling idiot write a "smart" character without just making them a Mary Sue like happens 99/100 times.

From Software games should win hands down the best performance award. There's no competition between actual actors and wannabees in the game industry. It's kind of hilarious, one of the many reasons why people don't take the game industry seriously.
I don't know how to explain it, but the voice acting in FromSoft games has always been miles ahead of basically every other game I've played. Most RPGs have incredibly cringe and shit voice acting despite being more narrative-focused than games like Elden Ring. Only other example of good voice acting I can think of is Witcher 3.

If you would like to get your son into older games with great male protagonists. Castlevania: Simon and Richter Belmont, Link is really cool in the older zelda games. Samus is a great female character metroid samus returns and metroid dread turn up her cool factor more with her melee counters. Although I thought samus was pretty cool because of her different weapons and all the hostile alien planets she travels to, and the planets usually blow up when she's done with them. Master Chief is really cool being a space marine taking on galactic threats, doom guy/slayer if you let your son play more violent games doom 2016 and doom eternal make the doom guy into an absolute force of nature. Original Kratos is awesome too. There's Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the dragon, Sly Cooper in the original trilogy, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank in their original trilogy.

It's a shame we now have to be suspicious of women led games.
