Honestly for a game made by one person not only does it look pretty darn cool but the story is pretty neat also. Though there are some weird quirks with some of the animations but that’s to be expected and honestly even with the quirks, it’s still looking dope.

so anyone can buy those assets and throw them in Unity. its actually very easy and requires basic computer knowledge. the game looks pretty bad, look at the UI, look at the stiff animations, look at the bugs, look at the sound, look at the poor level design.
It’s not the greatest but I truly appreciate that someone tried to make a decent Jurassic Park style fps/thriller.
personally i think the number 1 problem with this is not having animations of them attacking you, even if it was just one animation where it jumps on you and bites you and you step back that would be amazing
14:53 I'm a phd candidate in plant biology so i can confidently say nope plants mainly just need light. There is infact a special name for plants rowing under artificial light in caves called lampenflora which translates to lamp plants. the source of the light matters far less than the color of the light. plants usually look green because its the color they don't need/use. so as far as is an underground farm possible? yes but it would be expensive (generally speaking)
I think it's funny how when you see a new weapon, we get all excited but that just means a bigger enemy is coming up.

As a worker in a greenhouse can confirm that plants/vegetation can grow inside and at low light levels. Would assume the rooms were lit better before the whole big explodey and thus the plants had already grown before it became dark and spoopy

Why exactly? Humans are capable of more physically than most dinos. How many dinos can swim, and climb cliffs, use thumbs, climb trees, easily back up, and much more? Everything aside, this games dinosaur AI is insane! It really forces you to be smarter through the gameplay. Other games make it easy but this is another level. Either way it’s pretty balanced AI bc how easy it is to kill the dinosaurs.

Fun fact: Crossing humans and dinosaurs was actually an early (but completely scrapped) concept of Jurassic Park III.

Wasn’t the spooky reveal, like, the whole “not only did we engineer a dinosaur, we also made it smarter” reveal, that the classified ingredients for indomitus Rex, included human DNA. Alright before this ends up with 600 replies, no, the Indo Rex didn’t contain human genetics, that was apparently just everyone remembering that dumbass raptor DNA reveal which is treated by the characters as an end of the world absolute threat to humanity scenario, as having been not garbage, which it was, and wouldn’t have been if it HAD been human DNA. However, human splicing has been hinted, teased, and almost confirmed throughout multiple different Jurassic Park media, they even planned full on hybrids, including a green bipedal trike which was super ugly, all of which were scrapped and never made it into the canon. The closest we’ve ever gotten to 100% canon human Dino hybrids, is this one time when some incredibly spooky militant types drop in to a place infested with Dino’s, wild ones, which instead of ripping them apart, they give the shady guys the right of way, actually moving out of their path.
Ima have to re-watch, cause I think it was just Raptor DNA, and that is why it could communicate with them.
I think it had both, as it wouldn't be that big of a reveal if it was just raptor.

The Velociraptor was the big reveal and the 'Oh Shit!' part. As in the Jurrasic Part lore, Velociraptors unlike most other Dinos, are Pack animals and never solo, and very highly intelligent hunters. As seen in the other movies where they literally kept a human alive but deeply hurt in the middle of a clearing to call for help while they waited nearby in a trap.
@A R They cloned a Girl. Not a Girl and Dino hybred, they Cloned a 'Girl', a fully functional, real, same DNA girl. That's different than putting Human into a Dino, and what's more the people who cloned the girl were wiped out and a very small group of criminals, so of course they were going to break the law. The Indominable Rex tho, was created by a fully legal, government oversighted, fully approved theme park company. Them splicing animals and Dinos no one would bat an eye with. It wasn't illegal or against company policy. Splicing in HUMAN would have been a much more different issue.
And again, no where in the Movie does it say Human. It was Raptor DNA that was the big 'Secret', and only hidden from the Raptor expert.
Human dinosaur hybrids were considered in an early draft for Jurassic World, or so I've heard, thankfully they didn't go that route.

Artificial UV lights and other similar things have existed for a long time tbh but are getting better and better. People use them in reptile terrariums all the time but I don't know how well they'd do over a huge area like that.

The attack rate/stunlock looks brutal. With that difficulty curve the enemies might as insta-kill. It would feel less frustrating and there could be cool scripted animations where your character gets barreled over and the last this we see is some raptors jaws closing in around the camera. Then cut to back and _CRUNCH._

You can use grow-lamps to create indoor habitats. But they are more susceptible to disease, etc…. which is why it’s important to have artificial wind.

Here’s some interesting trivia I heard a while back. If I’m not mistaken, the Jurassic World franchise did briefly consider going in a different direction than the indominus; they were toying with the idea of human/dinosaur hybrids. If you search up “Jurassic world abandoned concept art”, I believe the one humanoid-ish raptor image that comes up was official concept art, but since I can’t remember the source I heard this from, I can’t say with confidence that this is absolutely the case, so take it with a grain of salt. Either way, positively insane concept and I love it
that titanoboa fight really needs some workover.
it just runs at you slowly and all you need to do is run on the opposite direction while shooting at it, would be better if it was able to lunge at the player, like a real snake, doing so from time to time, would also be nice if it was able to completely go underwater for a while, leaving the player unaware of its current location.

On the topic of plant life, (I could be wrong) I heard if you have a grow light it should and be the most suitable habitat for plants. So that’s why you see all the lights in the ecosystem area
Different species benefit from different kinds and temperatures (what you might think of as color) of light, fertilizers, etc., but if you get it right you can get absolutely massive crops compared to those grown in sunlight.
Plus in a scientific setting, it's important to eliminate as many outside factors as possible so they can't fuck with your data. Growing outside is pretty inconsistent since sunlight isn't perfectly the same every day, there are all kinds of pests, animals could get into it, and so on.

Although most plants do require sunlight for photosynthesis, there are some that have adapted to cave life though certainly not long grasses shown in the game.
That being said, if it were possible to rebuild prehistoric life, let alone mutate it with human life, I doubt creating grass that grows underground would be a challenge
It would also be fairly easy to create a day/night cycle with overhead lighting

Biggest problem with that is you couldn’t just use electric light. You’d need a specific type of light, depending on the plants, to perform photosynthesis.
Natural light works best, as does UV light but, as we’re talking a company that can regenerate prehistoric life, it’s not really a stretch to assume they’d have enough knowledge to create a lighting system that supports and nourishes plant life

I'd make it so the titanoboa would go underwater from time to time when taking damage and get close to you from a different unknown angle, and also make it so it moves faster but enough shots would stagger it, and also have more dynamic motion on the water moving left to right to left to right like snakes do to make it harder to shoot.
