  • We are proud to introduce our newest truck, a 2019 Peterbilt 75-ton rotator. While there are a few companies that have a truck this size, such as Statewide, Ten West and Van Lingen, we are the only company in the city of Los Angeles with a 75-ton. Check out our blog for more information on this monster for more information and to see why we don't have an underlift

Congratulations! That is one great million dollar truck and being the first in a city like Los Angeles sure is one heck of an accomplishment. I am sure this truck will serve your company and the city and the residents of Los Angeles well by opening roadways faster and clearing wrecks more efficiently.

I follow 3 other tow/recovery channels. Your 75-ton rotator showed up as a "recommended" video. I watched it along with your other videos and have become a subscriber. Even though you are just getting started on CZcams, the quality of your work will soon get you far more than the current 578 subscribers.
I have a number of comments and one question:
    (1) What's the difference between your "pepestowla.com" site and "pepstow.com"? The paint schemes on the trucks seem to be somewhat different and I don't see your "S. Boyle Ave." address on the other site.
    (2) You've got very nice looking equipment. Your vehicles are part of the "face" of your company (along with your workers), so it makes a good impression on the public.
    (3) You've got a very good drone operator. That view adds a great deal to some of the videos. I realize that person has more important responsibilities than operating the drone when on a job, but it's nice to include that in some of your footage.
    (4) I realize that audio from the crew is not possible when using drone footage, but the captions are helpful in following what's happening.
    (5) Where possible, it's nice to hear the crew comments as they coordinate what they're doing and give us a little information. (The "tractor decking" video included comments directed to the views about what was being done.)
    (6) I'm not much of a fan of music in videos such as these but at least you seem to choose songs that are not too obnoxious. All of us viewers are interested in towing and recoveries but can have widely different tastes in music.
    (7) I like the longer format videos that show more detail of what's being done. If you would choose to do more of that, those who like shorter videos could advance the video manually and we could all be satisfied.
    (8) The use of split screen to show two views at once can be a nice touch.
    (9) Your older trucks may not have the capability for remote control, but it can be useful to have it available to eliminate running back and forth from the controls to watching the recovery. Another possibility if there's more than one person is to use headphones to communicate.
    (10) What attracts me to sites like yours is that I enjoy seeing how you go about finding the solution to each unique situation.
    (11) Finally, you will sometimes get suggestions from other operators about how to go about something that you will find valuable. Of course, you will also sometimes get suggestions from some who see themselves as excellent towing/recovery operators when sitting behind their keyboard. I'm sure you are more than capable of deciding which is which!

What a very informative and constructive comment. I'll try to answer everything here in case anyone else had your questions:
      (1) We are the same company, Pepe's Inc. I operate out of our Los Angeles Division while the other site is for Inland Empire. Our LA trucks are painted different because we have a police contract and these are the official police garage colors.
      (2) We pride ourselves on our fleet, I love when people notice.
      (3) I am the owner and also operate the drone. I'm not always able to set it up and use it but I do plan on using it more, it definitely makes for a better video when done right.
      (4) That's what I was going for, not everyone is in the industry and automatically knows what is going on. I want anyone to be able to see my videos and get what we are doing.
      (5) This is sometimes hard when the scene is very noisy (such as by the freeway) but I also think it can be a nice touch.
      (6) Thanks, it can be difficult picking one genre (say country, rock, etc) but I try and find "neutral" songs that match the tone of the video.
      (7) I've been getting this suggestion a lot. I was first told that long videos would deter people, but going forward I want to start making them longer.
      (8) I've never seen that split screen view done before on recovery CZcams videos and decided to take a stab, practice makes perfect and I hope to really utilize that more.
      (9) Personally, I am not a fan of wireless remotes. Not knocking them, but I like to "feel" the truck as I move the levers if that makes sense. We do use them, such as on this video (you can see no one is at the control box when it's moving).
      (10) Thanks! We get every type of call, you HAVE to think out of the box in this industry.
      (11) I'm always looking for ways to improve and value all feedback, even the negative. Unless it's an obvious troll haha

I understand how hard it is to grasp that a towing company has a rotator with no underlift, but this one was built specifically for recoveries. Our company is quite large and we have 3 other rotators with underlifts. In California especially our laws are very strict when it comes to weight, if we had the underlift we would not be able to have 6 winches. This rotator only gets sent out for lifts, roll-overs, extreme winch outs, etc.

I really want to put much more content but it's not as easy as it seems. Most of our biggest calls from our accounts (such as 7-up, Penske, etc) and these accounts do not want their accidents uploaded. Another big reason is when we get emergency calls, we have to work fast. When it's just myself or with another truck working a wreck, we have to concentrate and I don't have time to set up the drone and everything. When I have a full crew though I can which is where my videos come from. I just bought a Gopro tripod so that I can start recording more when I'm solo so that should help me upload more content.

@@kappajohns5416 That's a great suggestion! If I get the new GoPro 7, I could try mounting this one on the boom just as you stated.

Shit 75 tons that it what the hell man it should be 150 tons one. I actually don't know if they make it that high even but IDC

75 ton is the max, thus far, anything more is a custom home fabricated kit and just a wrecker, otherwise if it rotated it would be that of a normal crane.

No touch screens for the lights and pro control. No touch screen in the back so you dont have the scales or the lifting limit gauge. No underreach so it's a crane without the saftey features built into all the actual rotators. I guess you will use it for roll overs and winchouts and misc lifts. Without an underreach it's not a rotator it's a crane.

We have 2 60 ton rotators and a 50 ton rotator, in addition to a massive fleet of heavy wreckers. This truck is exclusively a recovery vehicle. You obviously are not from California where we have strict weight laws, adding the under lift would make it illegal. Sorry you aren't impressed, guess it's a good thing you don't own this :)
