I know it's just a kid's toy, and that my high school graphic design classes are likely causing me to be a bit biased, but the lack of red baffles me. Imagine trying to make a cherry and it ends up looking like a ball of chewed gum with a stem because the closest you had was pink.

Wow did my mom regret getting me this toy when I was a kid. It only worked well in the dark, so I would constantly turn all the lights off in whatever room or area of the house I was using the Lite Brite in, be it night or day. It really pissed my dad off when I did it during a Houston Rockets game, this was the early 80s. I'm pretty sure they came with Bozo the Clown and Bugs Bunny patterns in the 70s when I had one. That was one of those toys that after begging for Santa Claus to bring it, you pleayed with it a few times and never touched it again. Too long to plug in the pegs, and after plugging it in, it was kind of so-so to look at it. Then you had to gather up all the pegs and put them in the right box.

It's funny, we were both so amazed at its size and shape when we opened it. Like we were expecting that big, boxy thing from our childhood, lol!
