Old dude checking in. Bought this when it came out and always felt like they missed the boat. Classic thrash album imo. Glen Alvelais is the guy playing the solo, and it's still one of my favorite solos ever.

One of the solos I go to when people want to hear a great guitar solo. Songwriting is on point throughout, and the album kicks all sorts of ass. Their follow-up has prog undertones to the metal, and songwriting is even more on point.

This song as well as the title track "Forbidden Evil" are not only my overall favourite songs by Forbidden, but they rank among my overall favourite Thrash Metal songs, not only, but also because of the guitar solos! There's also an official liveclip with very good quality from the same year the album came out and in which they played the song even slightly faster: czcams.com/video/Cakppg0UriI/video.html I recommend to check it out, not for another reaction, but just for yourself! If all songs on their debut had been on the same level as this one and the title track, it might have become my overall favourite Thrash Metal album. Still, "Forbidden Evil" is one of my four favourite albums from 1988, together with "Suffering Hour" by Anacrusis, "Act of God" by Znowhite and "A Tribute to Insanity" by Hexenhaus - all of which feature excellent Thrash Metal.

This album is underrated and never got the promotion it deserves. They did have an MTV video that played on Headbangers Ball "Step by Step" that's decent but simple compared to this song.
Thanks Nick for giving this a listen.
Hope you could do an album review on this or Twisted into Form

i love the early thrash era. With clean vocals (from heavy metal influence) and more aggressive instruments. I would say it's my favorite style overall, because no one in the band gets to hide behind some other instrument. And that's why i never got into black metal, it's a cacophony, i had to walk out of a metal fest because Emperor was the closing act, it just sounded like a mess

If you think these vocals are ambitious for thrash, you need to listen to Toxik. Anything off of album World Circus.
