I worked with a band called "Militia" out of the bay area many years. I was truly fortunate and honoured to see Forbidden and M.I open and play with forbidden Evil / Forbidden. At their studio, Pony Express, The Stone, The Omini and so on.Truly can say this band has riffs and chops beyond understanding unless you break it down and learn. I can also say I tried and was taught by Tim Calvert many times. Their talent is 🤘🤘 bay area thrash!💥

And still an outstanding example of that eras thrash metal, the whole album doesn't get the credit it rightly deserves.
You really need to check out Through Eyes of Glass off of Forbidden Evil....one of the great thrash songs of all time.
Forbidden is in my humble opinion the absolute most underrated Thrash band ever. This album is a masterpiece.
Forbidden is one of the best thrash bands. They were on my list of eventual requests so it's cool to see it here. They have this song "Chalice of Blood" that's so good.
One of the best bands of that genre. And this is my favourite album; it's those unconventional, menacing sounding riffs by the late Tim Calvert.🤘🏼
Respect for giving lesser known/popular thrash bands a chance. Another criminally underrated band is Toxik. Virtuoso guitar playing, tight drumming and bass and piercing vocals. Suggested song 47 Second's of Sanity/ Count your Blessings, awesome classical guitar intro that transitions into kick ass thrash, good lyrics also

I loved Forbidden. bought their CD in the early 90's. Great underrated band. Another good 80's band is Heathen.
This Forbidden album is a classic thrash album. I'd put it in my top ten thrash albums of all time.

Forbidden is one of the best hidden gem bands. Saw them at Culture Room in ft lauderdale 10 years ago. The singer was still great.

Chalice' of Blood is a great transnational song that will impress you. Fact!! the battle of chops takes place in a few places. Those melodic melodies are some of my most favorite... from all FORBIDDEN music

Will never forget seeing them at the foufs in montreal after many years waiting to see them live. It was so good. Chalice of blood in the mosh pit in Quebec was just another level of energy that I rarely saw before. French people know how relieving it is to yell chalice, imagine in a mosh pit.
Destruction is another awesome band and Atrophy is awesome too. Anything from these bands would be worth a listen.

Got to see them live in Pittsburgh way back and I am sooooooo glad I did Itry to turn people on to Forbidden any chance I get.
Great thrash band that had a decent amount of lineup changes but I always loved Russ Anderson's falsetto

Powermad is another hidden gem that I would recommend. The best album is Absolute Power. Any song is worth listening to. One of my favorites is the title track.
Heavy riffs, tight pounding rhythms, tempo changes, melodic, great singing = great thrash
Tim Calvert was in this line up as well if I’m not mistaken and Paul bostaph is an awesome drummer

Twisted Into Form is a fantastic album, pretty much every song is a scorcher. Out Of Body (Out Of Mind) would be my pick for next one to check out from this same album. Rob Flynn from Machine Head used to play guitar in this band but left to join Vio-Lence. That band is yet another underrated gem in the pantheon of thrash gods. Anything off of Eternal Nightmare is amazing. Other bands like Annihilator (Alice In Hell), Sabbat (History Of A Time To Come) or Coroner (No More Color) will sufficiently scratch the itch for some visceral thrash.
They Rule Forbidden Evil album is awesome.

Twisted Into Form is a classic LP. Forbidden is so underrated,,,, You hear the thrashy vocals, but dude can sing! Check out the cover of Priests' Victims Of Changes... And since I've already opened my big mouth on Stormrazor, I'm checking that out, too. 80s Thrash? Pariah? Devastation? Destruction? Sodom? Kreator? Reanimator? Rigor Mortis? On the Stormrazor cover, it was too short and the sound was too muffled. What I watched/listened to was OK... Nothing special. I'm going over to the original post to check it out further. I suggest you do the same... PEACE!
