1. I decided to activate when I did because I was afraid they would begin to fall back from our attack and ruin it lol
2. When I began the sneak I told my team PUSH! PUSH EVERYTHING NOW! to try and keep all attentions on the front line lol, so you notice we start doing dumb things like throwing units in.
3. When it was pretty much a done deal, someone in the defenders VC is the one that informed them what was happening, right at the last like 10seconds lol.
Thanks so much for covering! Knew you'd like this one
Well played, you just got a sub!
@@hardrocksuk welcome!!
Great play!
@@king_of_bohemia thanks king!
@@ellingtonGaming My pleasure! :)
"Say the line, Apollo!"
"...bend, but not break."
"YAAAAAAAAY!"
We should make Apollo Bingo cards, with all his phrases
When Alexander conquered Thebes, he had a small contingent go into the city behind enemy lines to burn the city down. When the Thebans watched the city burn, they were demoralized and were defeated. It's realistic tactics, at least with regards to a siege!
Capturing the city leaders and their women and children is also a good explanation
Love to see the lower end units fight then the heavys at the end compared to last video with full heavy infantry. Good battle
That last one was ridiculous haha all elite armies
The fact the defenders never caught on had me busting up at the end. Why? Because I know my dumbass wouldn't have noticed.
yeahh and you allways receive a notification "you have lost a victory point"
16.55 You were saying 'Carthage conquered the Iberian area, that it was in the path Hannibal took to get to Rome'
Hannibal's father developed much of Iberia(Spain), especially the gold, silver and iron mining. Yes, he had to unify much of the area thru conquest, actually being killed in one of these tribal unification fights, which is how Hannibal came to control his army... similar to Alexander the Great's process of inheriting Phillip's army.
The path taken to get to Rome(actually Italy as Hannibal never sieged Rome) was thru southern Gaul, but north of Masillia/Marsaille and then the Transalpine region, then the Alps themselves.
Carthage leadership was NOT in favor of restarting this war with Rome, and sent no reinforcements for 14 years. But Iberia was so wealthy that Hannibal's Carthagian faction could start and sustain the war by itself, using mostly African mercenaries, against the wealth of the Roman Empire. In fact, it was the encroachment of this faction, at the same time Rome showed up at Tarrasco in NE Spain, that was the real trigger for the war, the Casus Belli for both sides.
One's Libyan, the other's Iberian...
Apollo: "It's all Carthage to me!"
Yes I saw you're video "The best army combo ever" because I am here since 2018 and I love you're channel
Just scrolling through looking for something to watch while eating and get the notification that Apollo has just uploaded a new video!
Apollo, Carthage had both it's own soldiers and mercenaries. its armies became very mercenary-centric during the punic wars though as they lacked their own man power after such long wars but still had alot of money.
I loved the battle, but the commentary was perfect! I laughed so hard, got confused, then mind blown. Keep up the great work Apollo!
100% I love a good close battle.... But that was absolutely golden 😂 the big brain plays! 🤣🤣
love ur vids pixelated apollo. and love the daily uploads. keep up the good work!
I actually won my first battle kinda like that. Our opponents confused the capture point and a smaller one for bonuses, so they left the town center, defended the wrong one and we won with half our armies still intact!
Bend but don’t break is definitely a football term. Heard that all the time when I played
12:10 Actually Carthage (Hannibal) did in fact use quite alot of gaellic mercenaries fighting against Rome
I know, I was joking
@@PixelatedApollo1 Carthago had a own army of 8000 soldiers who in fact where verry good. They had about 200 stables in there city to keep there War elephants .... . The way hannibal maded all those merceneries from all kind of places in europe to 1 strong army who defeted the romans 3 times verry hard makes him the best general EVER lived . Pitty he didnt had enough men to conquer rome to hold it.
A quote from Rise of the Planet of the Club Levy; "Club levy, together, strong."
Honestly the reason they fell back from it is a couple reasons
1. We had 3 artilleries staring them down and that area would've been a death trap
2. That gate area is attacker archer heaven, you get plenty of cross shots
Yeah that’s what I was thinking, also good play, that was hella funny
@@robbagel54 lol Thanks
gotta love courage man he is the bravest dog of all time
why dog
@@mahmad8528 it was a cartoon here in the US called, "Courage the Cowardly Dog"

11:00 Apollo may want to read up. Carthage had a long history and used many types of troops. You might even remember one ot their generals that fought in North Italy had a very diverse army.
The funniest rage ive ever heard: wait what, How did we lose?!, what??!
Defenders: We're doing well we're holding them back
Attackers: Sneaks troops into capture point
Defenders: Yurete yuganda sekai ni dandan boku wa
Hahahah...I saw this live. The Gen with the sneaky dink
Cool to see the different coverage and wonder if Apollo is smoking his "figs"
What an evenflow of club levy.
Ah yes... the days when victory-capture location were placed in no-where.
I saw dream last night where I played against Club levy masses. I finally destroyed all of them. And enemy brought new full stack of 20 club levies. Horrid nightmare.
3:26 HE SAID IT GUYS!!!!!! WOOOOOO!!!! *takes shot*
What a sneak attack! I have never seen this as well.
Get your snacks and drinks Apollo incoming
Thank you lord Apollo your videos always come in clutch when I’m trying to sleep
Hi, Carthaginians used mercenary cavalry during the second Punic War. Have a good one
How to make pixelated Apollo happy: bring club levie
Biggest club levy question: Why are the club levy holding axes?
They trick the enemy into thinking they are bringing clubs!
Mannnnn all I saw was the thumbnail but I KNOW this is gonna be a banger!
Love the content .anyone remember holdfast and war of rights ?
Love that game bruh
Same
The soldier on the battlefield be like:sir why are we retreating we can still fight
The commander in charge:its over soldier we lost our town square to vietcongs hiding in trees
The soldier:but we can still retake our town square and even if we don't we can use our archers to skirmish them
The commander:nah that's just absolutely mental we can't take back our town square anymore
The soldier:why not
The commander:this is what you signed up for in the war and you will go with it or you will be sent to a re-education camp so you shan't question these logics
General sniping seems to be more and more common nowadays...
I mean considering the fact that general units in this game are deadly and can cause a lot of damage I don't blame people
Well his fault for putting the general in the front line I say that’s fair game…if I’m back half a map away is then general sniping to me…but that’s my opinion
Bend but don’t break came from Ron Rivera when he coached the Panthers. Mostly talking about his defense. But yeah remember super bowl they blew a 25 point lead lol
I haven't even finished but it's gonna be a banger
yeah... Totally
Think you could do more empire divided content? 😁 love that period of history
Hey so I’ve been really inspired by your videos and love watching you play the third age mod I’ve just went and bought a gaming laptop and really wanted to play the third age mod but unfortunately I have no clue what total war game to buy that will have the mod can you help me out???
"Oh my the barbarians are slaughtering each other..." "Eh its okay that's just Europe for most of history" what a subtle yet destructive burn
I miss when there used to be polls and you could vote on who you thought was gonna win the battle
Love your videos brother. And I’m happy to hear you’re a falcons fan!!
GREAT 1 in a 1000 games !fantastic well done
You let one club levy stand up against us then they ALL might stand up against us.
Hey apollo, I've been watching you since I was 10 and I just want to thank you for rasing me with this brilliant content. I love you so much!
Hey Apollo I love your vids I've been watching for year's an just wanna say hi love the epic battls
Mind blowing siege hahaha, they probably got so cofused and feeling so dumb to let this happen. Missing some old but gold medieval 2
Your litterly the best I know that you Watch this more then 1 time😂
10:10 "You let one puny little ant stand up to us then they all might stand up to us! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one and if they ever figure that out THERE GOES OUR WAY OF LIFE!!!! It's not about food, it's about keeping those ants in line".
Carthage used mercenaries quite a bit. In fact, mercenaries made up the core of their armies.
Sarcasm
@@PixelatedApollo1 Ooooo I didn't hear that.
I completely dig the style of the Lybian infantry. Does anyone know where I can buy an armor like that irl ??
hi, 1 weekend every year, there middle ages games in my city . And there also a lot of sales men who selling middle aged swords helmets , daggers everything you can imagen you can find there. And there is a shop in hugary who have extreme much old age and middle aged weapons you can buy there. He even have greek helmets and a hoplon ( big greek round shield ) so look on the internet I think he makes it all by himself. Dont know the name of the shop , but seek in hungary middle age weapons or sommething and you will find a lot of armorer . I 😉
I have found out that pixilated Apollo was a falcon fan, as a patriots fan I find that funny
I just watched you on the Resonant deep dive podcast, have you thought about doing more of those?
My football coach woud tell us all the time, bend but not break.
Hahahaja bend but don’t break I love it
Apollo you must read more books ! there was a nobel gallic tribesmen who united the gallic tribes and he fought ceasar. Never heard about Vincengetorix ??? Alesia , Gergovia ??? he beated ceasar in Gergovia ;-) . And annother coalition of 4 tribes fought the romans on the battle of the selle . Where ceasar himself had to fight to against the nerviers and coalition. The nerviers where the wildest gallic tribe ! They made a big scale ambush for the romans and almost suceeded ;-) . The romans didnt even had the chanse to remove there shieldcovers....
Brilliant video, thank you!
Carthage used mostly mercenaries for their land armies. But their navy was native Carthaginian. Thaaaanks
5:15 this should be the thumbnail
well time to get my snacks and drinks
I always cheer for the falcons even though they aren’t good their just my underdogs
I know the Closed Captioning sucks on youtube but you gotta enable it Apollo there are deaf bois who cant enjoy the show without it 😩
He gotten werde over the years but he got the spirit.
ive send you a battle replay some weeks ago where i did exactly this - i snkeaked in behind the enemy, used the backdoor and conquered the victory point. may be the replay i sent u was sent to the wrong adress by me? i dunno... :/
I have a love hate relationship with Apollo 🤣
That's why always save 2 unit on the final stand XD
This is why each player on the defense should keep a unit or general at the capture point. And for the love of god don’t get tunnel vision.
It was a good tactic nonetheless. Always use what you have to win even if it’s sneaky tactics like this.
Had I been attacking and seen them focusing on my Allies I would have done the same.
Apollo for your next NTW3 can you do the Battle of Leipzig or commonly known as the battle of the Nations it took place in 1813 with the countries France Russia Austria and Prussia
Bro in the historical cratagene army the guals soldiers where one of the most important of Hannibal army
and on that beautiful day, sneak did in fact increased to 100
Sooo I just started playing multiplayer Rome 2 just like what I've always wanted. Learn a few tricks and so on this channel. As I'm playing a 3v3 siege battle as pontus, my general got sniped not even 2 mins in the game. Got Lusitani guerrillas fucked my artillery and the defenders sally forth with their cavs while the slingers rain down fire on us. It was not even a battle, it was an equivalent of a 3-22 situation. A fucking bite the curb and stomp their heads kinda thing and all I'm thinking is please don't let this end up in Apollo's vids. so right now I'm waiting for it nervously and still hoping ot won't find its way here.
Hahaha, we all got our ass kicked when we started. I still do. It’s how we learn
Correction: Carthage did indeed hire mercenaries. In fact, Carthage mostly hired mercenaries instead of having their own standing army.
Is it me or did apollo seem drunk whilst commentating this one? XD
Indeed
Gallic is pronounced/gah-lick/ Gaelic is exclusive to Ireland and medieval Scotland
I love ur vids keep it Apollo
omg he said it! he said the line!
would u consider doin a campaghn playthrough for rome 2 dei
Snacks and drinks everyone whatcha rocken I'm sitting pretty with Pringles cheddar and a crystal scull class of peach tea
A suebi Sally out.....that's new
Battle of shiny turds ~ pixelated apollo
usually players who get a flank off, use them in combat and dont run off to cap the main point and ruin the game
What was that sound on 23:10?😂😂
Did it occur to apollo that the defenders never saw the siege tower
You're wrong Apollo! lol Actually..... Carthage's army was made up of mostly mercenary troops.
Actually... Carthage's army was made up out of Club Levy
Hey apollo have ever heard about the battle of Fornovo there is a video related to kings and general looks like a good battle .
i will become King Lucy Heartfilia
I got the notification one minute after the video was out, why not immediately???
