- Highly requested and three years in the making. A meandering look at one of my all-time favorite oracle decks. Purchased with my own funds.
This one is a jewel to me. Being a Fae lover myself, I was very welcome by the deck several years ago. This adorable creatures have become real friends of mine and we've made a one of a kind relationship. I just recommend this deck to REAL Gaia & Fae followers, otherwise... be prepare for weird experiences. I completely think that behind this deck the energies of the Fae know who is who... they pick the people they want to work with. Oh yes!

It's so interesting to hear a more professional person's idea about this deck. I came upon it so after it came out, it has been my first and only deck. I am so spot on with it that it's a little eerie. I guess that means I wasn't wrong in saying I'm a faerie.

I purchased the fairie oracle years ago and I love working with it. I can't say it has ever disappeared or played tricks on me though. I use it on every solstice and Equinox and I use the Heart of Faerie oracle every Esbat. I find both these decks have great fey energy.

Thank you for this review. I have had this deck in my collection for years. Why, why, why are these publishers compromising quality by making cards out of such poor quality card stock? I am getting so tired of buying cards only to find the deck almost heavy paper! I do hope they see this review, for example, to inform them that we readers are noticing and are not happy! Yes! Agree! I just purchased it and am happy but would love the card stock to be much heavier.
I saw this deck when it first came out and didn't get it. Then last year I came across it again and I now own it and I love the relationship we have. And I love Brian Froud...I can get lost in their world. Thank you for sharing,

i just bought this deck couple of weeks ago and incidentally its my first deck too! the images and artwork is beautiful! its like yu escape into another world, another realm from this mundane world! And oh yes, it is a naughty lil trickster and it made sense only after i saw this video..i could connect th dots from yur video and th weird experiences i had with this deck to make me realize its a trickster! Also, whenever i am working with it the lights start blinking like the fae are wishing me hello! :P
and last but not th least, i have just fallen in love love love with this deck and probably the heart of feary or wild wisdom of the faery oracle is gonna be my next deck!

Sounds like an awesome deck. I'll have to look into it. Especially if it has an awesome guidebook. A little disappointing that it has weak card stock but it's cool that it has strong faerie energy!

Thank, Brandon! The deck was a mutual creation between Brian, the fae, and myself, which was fun for all of us. I'm working on another maybe deck, provisionally titled Gran'ma's Oracle of Faery Wisdom & Gnomic Utterances, which may never be finished but is fun to do. I probably shouldn't say so, but my feeling is that the only BEST deck for anyone is the one they are making for themselves right now.
This was one of the first decks I purchased, I think the year it was released. The smashed faerie books were whimsical and irreverent, and I'd bought the deck thinking it would be like that - lighthearted and silly. And was surprised, in a good way, when it was full of the deep dark places and no-nonsense truth-telling, as well as having the joyful kindly energy too. I've held on to it all these years, weirded out a few friends with the blunt readings it gives, and sat with the fae & their wisdom through a lot of my own ups & downs. Thank you, and Brian as well, for being the vehicles of manifestation for this deck - it has made a real, positive, impact in my life and I'm sure many other people's too.

I told myself a while ago that if I spot some Tarot or oracle in a charity shop, I will buy it (if I like it). I popped into a shop today and it was just the first title I noticed (not to mentioned it's been on my wish list). From the first few minutes (while checking whether the deck is complete) I can say IT IS INDEED A TRICKSTER!
Such a great review! I've had this deck since 2003-ish and it's one of those that lets you know loud and clear if you are ready to work with it or not. For those that do not resonate with it yet, or find it too 'tricky'... well,, it's okay :-) Highly recommend all with interest to check it out, if not just for the sake of the magnificent art.
I wanted to tell you I got this beautiful deck for my birthday from my best friend. I knew from your review, or so I thought, LOL, what to expect. I opened it up and asked her if we could just practice and do a out of box reading. I love this deck. It did exactly what it wanted to do. I gave us the reading it wanted to, which was what we needed to hear, and not at all what we asked. She sat and stared and I burst out laughing when I realized it was doing exactly what it was supposed to do. Not only that BUT when I got it out the next night, I found a necklace I had been looking for and thought I had given a friend it had been missing so long, and another fell out of the jewelry box for me to wear when I decided to clean the other one. Later I found a five dollar bill. This deck is definitely full of Fae energy, and I know I will need to get to know it just like I have to get to know all decks, but this one even more so. I am excited to do the exercises in the beginning of the book to get to know the deck. I am not a long time reader, I am fairly newish, but I know I can read this deck if I allow myself to get to know the cards and work with them. I plan on getting a special journal just for this deck.

Synchronicity city! An excellently timed video for me too. After last months tarot/ oracle challenge I meant to do a Feb one for myself with this deck (I haven't worked with it before really). This month's been insane and haven't touched the deck, but the last day or two it's been nudging at me - and now this video!
I got my cards out, started playing with them and now am off to begin connecting and see what energies come out for me. Thanks so much for the video! And bless you for your tenacity in filming it for us!

I bought this deck around 2002. I was 16 or 17. I have always loved faeries and I was in love with Brian's art work. I was also fascinated by it being an oracle deck, even though I knew nothing about that or tarot at the time. I agree, the guide book is amazing. Because I was unfamiliar with divination of any kind, other than being really interested in it, I was overwhelmed. I would look at the cards because I loved the pictures, but then put them away. Later in life I had a near death experience and that sent me into a whole new world of spirituality. I started researching and learning anything and everything. Wicca, paganism, Reiki, tarot, crystals, shamanic journeying, etc. I remembered this deck was in my old room at my parent's house. I brought it home with me one visit and tried to work with it. I found that I was a little afraid of it. Eventually I got over that. Now I'm 34 and I have a very deep respect for it, and I do agree with you about it calling you on your stuff. If I want the hard true that I do not want to admit to myself, I use this deck. It is tricky and kinda funny sometimes but I love it very much. I completely agree with everything you said in your review. Beautiful job and thank you!!
I love this deck! I wrote a guide book of my own to go with each card before I read the accompanying book. It was surprising how similar some of my meanings echoed what
I have had some downright FREAKY experiences with this deck. But that’s okay, because I gravitate towards the weird! Ha ha. Thank you for this video.

Amazing energy! This deck is amazing!
I got this deck at around the same time that I was reading two books by Tanis Helliwell-Summer with the Leprechauns, and Pilgrimage with the Leprechauns. It was a very strange time for me because I felt very connected to Elementals at that time and there were all kinds of weird sychronicities happening. I tried to start using the deck but I think there must have been other things that I needed to do before working with this deck. It's weird that you picked now to make your video because just two days ago, I suddenly had an Elemental being show up and make itself known to me. Must be time for me to start working with this deck again! Thanks

Thank you, Raecine. You answered my question I had on another review video you did of this deck. This comment is 8 years later and the card stock is the worst I have ever seen as far as flimsy-ness. It is like an index card.
This was my first deck as well. I love love love it. Don't like the heart of faery as much but had to get it too. I agree the Faeries deck is wild and has a mind of its own. Sad to hear the card stock quality has gone downhill. I've had mine a long time and they are holding up perfectly. The guidebook is so wonderful. I was disappointed in the Heart of Faery book 'cuz I got spoiled with the first one.
'Heart' one sounds like a companion; pricey now, sadly, but may hafta spring 4 it if really inclined ☝️
Thank you! I took notes! I'm totally intrigued and want a power deck like this. I've seen several readings online with a CZcams reader, and I was so drawn to the archetypes and energy. I've been working with cards and different energies, especially Celtic since 1991. My first deck was the Celtic Tree Oracle System of Divination by Colin Murray (which someone gave to me in 1991!) and I used those cards until they became so fragile, I just have them in a special box for safe-keeping now. I wish the Heart of the Faery Oracle deck was still available. It's on Amazon for over $500! It's out of stock everywhere, apparently. I wonder if the authors are going to come out with an anniversary edition. Do you know?
Hey, I realise this is an old video, but I thought I'd try ask you a questions and see if I get a reply.
I'm tied to the fae, and I was wondering if you know of videos or ways of learning more about the true fae and connecting with them? I'm really loving this deck, as I want to get to their and my own truth. I just have no idea of how I would come up with my own fae guide for the first card!!!

Purchased a used copy of this deck because I saw it come up while searching for something that may be of interest to me. I had no idea Brian had made decks and was thrilled to discover this. I have grown up with Froud artwork, and of course Labyrinth. As a West coast resident, we were able to also attend a few Faerie World events when my children were younger and I very much miss going to those. I am looking forward to getting to know this deck better now that I am seeing this video!
yes! The day after I got this deck, I found my 18 month old son writing with a black sharpie all over the hardwood floors of our bedroom near where I was keeping the deck. Recently I noticed the string on the bag I am keeping it in is broken!??

I restarted working with cards a year ago, since I re-discovered them (my mother took them away in my teen years and forbid me to work with that...). First I was drawn to Lenormand, but sometimes I finde it hard to work with this system. I am interested in Tarot, but did not try that yet. I have a couple of oracle decks which I really love and connect deeply with. But do you have any advice how to start with Tarot ? Do you have a Video about this?
I feel a bit addicted to oracle card decks - I could buy so many of them, because they all have different energies. The fairy 🧚♂️ deck you show here, is very interesting and I will take a look at it. I feel a bit drawn to it and the same time afraid. Interesting how it can make you feel . Thank you.
I used to have this deck and a ton of others, but somehow in my divorce 8 years ago it snd 2/3 of my collection disappeared. I recently did find the 1/3 of my collection I have left. I am looking to rebuild the collection. I don't know if I want to add these again or not. I know I really really wanted them and obsessed over them until I got them. However, they felt overwhelming and a little difficult to read to me. I do have the app version on my phone that I use from time to time though. I connected with the Fae when I was a very young child, but have had a lot of trouble reconnecting as an adult.
This is my first deck... I don't know why I took so long to revisit tarot and Oracle cards, but here we are.
I picked this deck for a couple reasons: the artwork (and reknowned artist), the challenge(I always tend to start at the most difficult point of anything) and also because I just finished reading 2 books, the Peculiar, and the Whatnot, by Stefan Bachmann. I wanted to learn more about the Fae world. It goes back to my ancestry, why didn't I explore this sooner?!
I just had my first experience with "tappings" while starting a personal reading. I even tried to video it happening, but it evaded capture. Clearly, this deck is everything I've read about on comments!
Right away, I felt a strange attachment to this deck. I was
curious and apprehensive, plus I feel so compelled to explore these.
While on a weekend road trip, I actually missed bringing them. Instead, I chose to leave them safely tucked away, hidden from prying 👀, even while they begged me to take them. I did not want to lose them or have some misfortune happen while they were with me....does that make any sense??
It's like this deck has a life(or many lives) of it's own.

I love this deck. I got it in about 2001 from one of our mighty dead Shekinah Muntainwaters. You don't know who she is look her up. She was one of our great teachers of women's spirituality. And a contributor for Sage Woman in the 80s. When she gave me the deck I got home and I got a phone call from her saying be very careful the hounds of hell have ran through my house and knocked over everything. Well it was a Doberman from down the street. But yes the trickster. I lost the deck for a while could not find it. About a week after Shekinah died I found it in the bottom of the tub. I haven’t lost an entire deck, but I have 2 decks because I’ve lost cards ( I used the faerie godmother as a bookmark and lost that first). Now I have somehow lost 3 other cards so I combined the decks today. I have always felt pretty intense energy from these cards that stays with me for hours after I do readings.

Buying it used would be fine. Just check to be sure all the cards are there -- there are 66, including the blank one.

How did it go? I think they say this is one of the easiest decks to learn with, and very rewarding and deep..even tho it's considered easy. My Queen of Wands has some vids on each card. Very helpful.

Big fan of Froud. Not a fan of the Fae, in this format. Tarot of the Hidden Realm though is different for me. I dig that one.
