My grand-grandfather was one of the founders of my local team 115 years ago, I am the 4th generation's that supports the same team. The team is the symbol of the city. The Inter capo said it well, if you aren't one of us you won't understand us.

Might be unfair to the ones not involved in all this stuff, but for the safety of everyone they need to ban these from coming over for games altogether. Brighton are out enjoying the ride of Europe for the first, they didn’t sign up to get stabbed and hospitalised. It’s disgusting. Hearing what happened in Rome immediately gave me flashbacks to Sean Cox. He got put in a coma cos of Roma fans. Ban them. Ban them all.
Also throughout the game Brighton fans were pelted w lighters, bottles and cups and stuff

Cost of living goes up, standard of living goes down, violence in a heavily working class sport goes up. It's not rocket science, but i do look forward to people running free interference for those in power by claiming it's because of racism or some other such nonsense.

People make fun of England for not having this type of fan culture but English fan culture has been and done this. We got banned from European football for this nonsense and have had extremely strict rules for our own games here England, good job this type of culture has been more or less stamped out in English football and hopefully it will happen in the rest of Europe. Not that UK hooligans outside of Chelsea ever really got involved with politics but in the UK for example Birmingham City used to be very left wing just because a majority of them were black (they literally used to call themselves the Zulu's). Chelsea however were the ones that had links to Neo Nazis because of where they're from. There was an incident a few years ago where Liverpool lads battered and chased members of a neo nazi group called NA out of their city. Roma tend to be more left wing so I hear. Football was and never has been about winning, it is about the art itself. The Beautiful Game is about bringing people together and creating positive social change. There is no place for violence, racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia or ableism in football nor in life itself.
This has been going on forever and you have never reported it before. Especially when English fans are being stabbed constantly in Italy. Then it clicked.... once you started repackaging it with political division and labelling it far right then it all makes sense as to why you are reporting this.

I hope this is just reporting at the core of journalism and not an attempt at moralizing anybody, because last I remember, England's Hooligans showed violence in football to the rest of the world.
Firstly, they aren't comparing countries and saying "Italy is worse", secondly, all countries suffer from hooliganism because every country has idiots, however I will say that the level of racism in southern Europe i.e. Italy, Spain seems to be at a much higher level than England, although racism still exists in England it gets called out quite quickly by everyone whereas it seems like a casual thing to throw bananas or chant monkey noises at black people in Italy and Spain
