Thks a lot, for showing this reality TV...!!!🙏👍😌
Not been to Levenshulme for 25 years. Any bit off Stockport Road is a little dodgy, but there's some really nice places further out and you'd be amazed how much the houses go for. Was very Irish-Heritage back then, but don't think that's the case anymore.
Lived here for a while alot of its longsight . Great breakfasts at the market
My dear old Dad grew up there. ‘Half decent’ and ‘ginnel’ are things I often heard him say. I feel quite choked up, as your accent is the same as his was.
Alot of people use those phrases there
@honestplaces - Nobby Stiles was part of the winning 1966 World Cup squad 🙂
Its grand i lived here for a bit, decent ethnic food and a few nice parks and a few nice boozers they do try keep the area well and promote the weekend market.
I lived in Cheetham Hill as a child in the late 70`s. It was filthy then and it`s filthy now. We left in early 80`s. Wouldn`t go back to live in Manchester, which is a shame cos after the bombing by the IRA in the 80`s, Manchester picked up, but only for a while. I`ve never understood why Andy Burnham (scouser) would be elected mayor for Manchester. What has he actually done for the city?
Manchester is quite booming now, alot going on. There are someoutskirts that bring it the way down though
Elected or selected ? 'If voting made a difference, they wouldn't let us do it' - Mark Twain.
He has been a thorn in the government’s side.
I don't live there but frequently visit because it is the best and most vibrant city in the UK!! Great place and lot's of great people!
@@paulwild3676 Ever heard of good cop, bad cop, he is part of the old boys club. He knew it was all a theatre production that used cgi and crisis actors at the 'event' in 2017.
Good video.
To Honest Places, Levenshulme, is in Manchester ( just saying )
Anyway, Peace to all.
I lived in Longsight for a year and it was a shot hole but that was 30 years ago. Now i live in Sydney yay.
Hennigans a good pub..used to watch the celtic games there ..just up the road fiddlers green thats a decent irish boozer too
its now a restaurant
Good to have you back 👍
Feel like a celebrity 🤣 Thanks
@@honestplaces 😂😂
Lived here for 40 years, main road a A6 bit ropey but back from that it’s ok, plenty of parks, no bad behaviour , good links to city centre there are worse places with gang and drug problems
A lot of where you went is longsight and you didn't walk up to south side of levenshulme. It looked as if you were going up towards Station South but then the video cut and you were walking into Longsight, weird.
this is what salford would look like now had media city not moved there and brought all the investment.
Dude. That term ‘Ropey’ is some English slang. First time I’ve heard that. I lived in Manchester in 2001. Love that place!!!!!! I’m now in sunny Southern California.
Mate! Been all over the US but never california. Lets house swap for 2 weeks 🤣
@@honestplaces I think you’d like it here. I live outside of LA. It doesn’t rain much compared to England. It does get super hot during summer. People would like your accent. Americans like the Brits in general. I need to get back to England. What’s the closest Rugby League club to you?
Wow , I wish 😊
Levenshulme is an absolute dump, lived there many many years ago as a child and teenager and it was OK then, lots of pubs , good independent shops that are all gone now , shame
Would always like to know the day and time . Places always look worse when the shops are closed .
11am this 👍
All the towns in Uk seem to have closed shops. Cost of living crisis and on-line shopping ? Small business can't make a profit. Very sad to see.
Back in the eighties and noneties, I lived in Miles Platting. I don't know what it's like now but I never felt safe and was glad to leave.
It's a bit like the Gaza strip but less populated.
Levenshulme on the main A6 road Manchester to Stockport.
Lived there from 2016 to 2021. Not great. But no that bad either. However we did move 170 miles away!
did i see a sign saying twinned with Beverly hills lol
Levi has a pop up food market its actually kinda posh & gentrified
The people are filthy. The alleyways and streets are disgusting. Posh?
A little fact about Levenshulme for people who like watching these videos. Levenshulme is spelt L E V E N S H U L M E. So now you know.
Hi mate where do live in Cheshire now with the premadonnas of the world jason brum peace
What’s your accent mate? You sound quite Manc or Cheshire best guess?
Stockport mate
@@honestplacesnice one, not a bad guess then considering I’m from down South 🍺
Bery or BURY OMG how is that even an area was a shock to the system when i visted.. did not know these places exsited 😒😳😒😳
Always looks worse in the snow 🤣 sort of like a north russian village
If you think Bury is bad, you have led a very sheltered life. Bury is the best town in the north of Greater Manchester.
int milk brilliant
Back in 40s and 50s levenshulme was upper middle class
It’s definitely not a slum. It’s a nice area but with a large ethnic presence. It’s not a bad place to live.
I lived in levenshume in 1973. It was a dump
Longsight market back in the day was brilliant its full of crap now.
No matter where they go they leave a trail of dirty run down buildings.
i must say you do get about a bit.
Not far from where I live, not far enough!
Wasn't as bad as i heard in the past to be honest
David Lloyd George helped win ww1
Levenshulme is not a slum its ok a bit rough like but fine. Longsight market is better on a Saturday. Emiline Pankhurst was the leader of the sufforgette movement that got women the vote, David Lloyd George was prime minister, I'd do some more reading mate if I was you.
Nothing kicking off.
Hard to believe that places like this still exist in 2024.
Don't kid yourself mate, you could not live there. It was only the cold weather that kept THEM all indoors...
Maybe.....or maybe i just live in a worse area 😘
Anyone can live in Levenshulme it's not that bad
@@soniagaynor1001 yeh it really aint
Its a multicultural s/hole 🕳
Outskirts of Manchester? Eh? What are you on about...the town centre, perhaps? Levenshulme is in South Manchester on the border of Stockport. You also only looked at North Lev which is pretty much Longsight (or Longistan as I call it, although we're heading the same way as is all of Manchester really!) The indoor market you mentioned is in Gorton, although there used to be a wanker magnet market (lefty hipsters 🙄) now and again - where you were walking behind Lev Station (the car park) with overpriced hippy crap. Diversity is our strength and all that bollocks.
I grew up levenshulme and Longsight both shit holes
just where all the foreigners are all put mate
‘Slums’ is a highly perjorative term, like the N word. It stigmatizes areas and the people who live there. I don’t think you intend to do that at all but words matter
Its a Muslim infested slum 😂😂😂
It's actually factual. Levenshulme is a slum, not far behind longshyyyte
@@susansausage469 Why not try to be the best version of yourself?
What a horrible run down place to live it looks like the working poor slums
It aint as bad as some places i've seen. If Manchester wasn't 5 mins away it would be a grim place to live.
@@honestplaces You're a wank and your content's smug shite. It does nothing but ridicule and stigmatise working class areas
More likely to get fleas at that Market
Too many immigrants totally finished
What part of Levenshulme do you live in?
