Dashavatar & the science of human evolution
Life began in water, and animals evolve, Then comes the pre-humans and then, humans with their stages of developments.
We have all learnt it through modern science, propagated first by Darwin in the 19th century.
But our purans, from 6th century have talked about the ten incarnations of Vishnu, according to Srishtitatwa, the knowledge of creation.
I presented dashavatar by jaydev, exploring this Srishtitatwa.
From fish - the Meena Avatar, in water, comes amphibians - kurma, then mammals - varaha. Then narahari - half man half animal. Then short statured humans - vamana. Man began as cruel hunters and gatherers - vrugupati. Then came the sophisticated warfare and kigdoms - ram avatar. Men settled down to cultivation - balaram.
The 9th avatar budhha symbolizes intellectual growth.
Man’s intelligence leads to greed, and destruction of nature. Nature strikes back. Kalki will one day bring human destructions, invisibly through the 5 elements - earth, water, fire, air, and sky.
This dashavatar, created during the pandemic, is a reflection of these interpretations.
