What a fabulous build, I’ve always had a think for the 70’s vans, wish there were more kits like this! Only downside is not being able to see that cool interior as it’s hidden without a sliding door. Love your style of builds and allowing us to watch! Can’t wait to see more!!!
Great build! I built that kit back in the mid 70's. I did it as close to box top art as I could. Gave it to my girlfriend back then. 😊 You and your wife definitely hit a home run with the decals and color scheme.
Enjoyed watching. I built the Dodge passenger van with its wagon-type windows about 50 years ago, with a 2-tone package, brush-painted. Wish they would re-release kits like this more often.
@@kjdacod I will keep it in mind, thanks. Round2 seems to be doing a lot of Mopar kits lately, and might be planning a re-release of the Dodge passenger version. In fact, I'm going to a model show next month, and Round2 has a table there usually. I will ask them.
Wicked van Awesome I still remember those Panel Van Days 😊 Looking forward to seeing you build more Fab Job 👊 Have a great weekend coming Cheers KC 🇦🇺 🤝 🙂 🍻
Nice build! 👌🏼 Reminds me of the good old days when those vans were everywhere. Dad owned a few over the years….mostly ChevyVans, but he did ‘em up! I have one MPC Dodge Van in my stash that I’ve always been tempted to build. Maybe it’s time. 😈
Like the color combination. The waves really stand out. Those older builds were pretty simple to construct. Because of that you could make them your way with very simple adjustments.
Quite nice, Louie ! Certainly I'm not alone in hoping that *Round2* will retool & backdate the old MPC B-vans -- and correct that backwards engine (starter's on the wrong side, as is the oil filtre ; same with the exhaust manifolds : they're backwards in the kit !). Keep up the great and fun builds !
You know, I was thinking that too, Mopar starters are on the drivers side of the engine. And the oil filter on the right. When I looked over the instructions, like you said they are on wrong. But then I thought maybe I’m wrong, I am getting older. That’s for confirming my original thought.
That's so cool !!!🤟 Turned out great, especially with your own personal added touch.. Great job, great build.. Until next time , Keep on Truck'n , i mean building.👍🤣
Louie!! Your take on that old van is awesome! Love the surf theme! I built that model brand new when I was 10. Its a 73 with a 318 and a 4 speed trans! Probably for the 75 Dart Sport? I built it box stock and had it for a long time sold it to a friend and he restored it he still has it. This is probably irrevelant to you, those are not the original kit tires. The sink and the old privacy windows for the divider are missing. I didn't have to Jack it up but yours look cooler! Hang 10 Louie! 🏄
The kit tires didn’t look right to me. The ones I used are from my parts box. The sink and divider windows were in there, I just didn’t use them. Thanks for watching!!
Awesome build! I built the ‘71 sportsman window van a few years back, but I also have a ‘77 panel van with tool cabinets that I’ve yet to build, but I’ve built them both when I was a kid, of course back then they were a whole lot cheaper!
Van came out great, those wave decals I think are from a Chevy van I have, thanks for showing us the build, I’m just trying to catch up on vidios, there is so many out there, lol
That Testor's Extreme Lacquer is nice stuff. I can take Blazing Black and then spray some TS-80 flat clear over the top and get kind of a Carbon Fiber look for Carbon Fiber car parts. But I also have the blue and the red. Nice stuff.
Super surfer van man! Also await the Round2 repop...hopefully. Remember building one back then. So I might've missed it, what clear did you hit the body with before the color? Excellent work again Louie!
Your Surfer Van turned out awesome Louie! I love your color choices inside and out! Spot On! Thanks for the video 😎👍

YEA I HAD THIS KIT 77 OR 78 I LIKE THE CAMPER PARTS THAT CAME WITH THE KIT. LOVE THE OLD STUFF THAT CAMEOUT BACK THEN.

Cool old Kit! Really well done with the custom decal package and accessories!

You want to buy an original one? I ask what I paid for. With shipping to the us it would be 110-120.
MPC did a re-issue of a 82 dodge van, the turtle wax

@@kjdacod I've seen it, just like the earlier model year better.
Beautiful job, Louie. Great job with the decals!

I’m glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you for watching. More to come for sure.
Awesome! I can smell the pot and hear the Molly Hatchet 8-track blaring! 😂 Actually, you should name the van “Deep Purple.” 😉
I really like that name, very cool. And deep purple was an awesome group.
I always thought the old kits were special. Looking good
Great build Louie. The purple is awesome! This was a fun one, thanks for sharing with us. Well done as always.

This was cool! I enjoyed this build, looks like it was a lot of fun!!!!
That turned out just awesome. Outstanding job all the way around spot on color decals wheels. Great details. Nothing better than a good lookin Mopar
Love it, man! Makes me want to find a vintage kit and do up a surf theme too!
Awesome work!
The color came out great and works well with the decals. Very well done on this build.

Cool build! I'm also working on a vintage kit; a 1975 AMC Matador X by AMT. Man, is it an experience!
That’s a great kit!! I love AMC cars. Have fun. Thanks for watching
Beautiful build.
Surfs up !! That came out nicely, pretty cool
I built this in around 80, I was 12
Turned out great

I wish they still made it. I still had a can hanging around. Thanks For watching
Bitchen van man 🤙 Great job Louie. Looks awesome 👍👍😎
Awesome build!! Love the waves!
LOVE IT!!
Great job and really like the paint choices. Where do you find these blasts from the past!!!✌Canada✌
I have many vintage kits in my inventory. Dug deep into the archives for this one. Thanks for watching

Love these old custom van kits! Are the wave decals from the Aquarod Chevy van and boat combo Round 2 recently reissued?
Yes , the wave decals came from the Chevy Van kit, some of the other ones came from the Ford surfing Van kit. Thanks for watching
👀😍
That turned out really well, what color is the body?
It’s purple-lisous, I showed it when I painted the body in the video.
🤓👍
