I just love how Arsenal fans love to talk about history that happened a century ago (13 prems), meanwhile they have only been to 1 UCL final in their history and lost it. While Chelsea have been to 3 finals in last 13 years and won two of them.

I mean, George Graham's awful to watch long-ball Arsenal team only lost one game all season (to Chelsea, natch) when they won the league in 1991.Had they drawn that game, would they be considered 'legendary'?

UCL 2012 final was the most thrilling final I watched but UEL 2019 final was the most fun final I watched, we beat our rivals by big scores in their biggest final match in their history.
The 2012 final and the napoli game 2nd leg, I've never been so anxious in my life during those two games đ.

yea what they did not realize is that we are making our history. If we keep this up, in 50 years forwards people will remember Chelsea as the most successful team in EPL, while the legendary Ferguson's squad will still be remembered but only as much as we remember Busby's squad.

@@aidanjanemcintosh6919 2nd UCL puts us up there with Porto, Juve, Benfica, and Nottingham Forest (Pretty Legendary club, despite their current state). We're already elite team, no argument. 1 UCL is probably "luck", but 2 within 9 years showed we could be consistent enough. One more, and those red satans could just shut the hell up.

Was at 5 of those 8 finals. Chelsea virtually took over that stadium in Stockholm in '98. Munich was incredible. It's reckoned there were a quarter of a million fans watching the game on various big screens around the city. Great time in the huge beer gardens. The place was drunk dry.

They have to take it as seriously as the South American champions do; the South American team always travel 1 week earlier to acclimate when it used to be played halfway around the world in Asia.
It may be possible English clubs might not value the world club trophy as much as the Italians, Real Madrid, Barca and the South Americans. I think it might be Steve Nichol who said the English players treated it a bit like a holiday.

Chelsea road to winning the CL is not an easy one. We were denied to final due to Luis Garcia ghost goal. We slip the title as Terry slip on the pen. We were robbed of our win against barca in the semi with one of the worst refereeing in CL history.
Drogba was supposed to be the last pen taker on 2008, but he got a red card on the night we lost to United. On 2012, he stayed on the pitch throughout the game, and were the last person to kick the ball.
Everything else is history.
Peter Cech has played in three triumphs... two with Chelsea (2012 and 2013) and one against Chelsea. and was the official that spotted Mendy to win us the one of 2021.. đđ

Generation 1: Desailly, Zola, Gudjohnsen, Terry, Hasselbaink, Cudicini
Generation 2: Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cech, Carvalho, Joe Cole
Generation 3: Cech, Terry, Lampard, Luiz, Mata, Torres, Hazard
Generation 4: Terry, Azpilicueta Oscar, Hazard, Fabregas, Diego Costa
Generation 5 (current): Azpilicueta, Kante, Mount, Jorginho, Werner, Christensen, Reece James, Mendy, Kepa
In a nutshell could be generalized into 3 different eras of captaincity: Desailly, Terry, and Dave.
The generation 1 of Cudicini, Hasslebaink, GuĂ°johnsen and Zola doesn't get enough credit. It was because of their contributions We finished 4th in the 02/03 season and qualified for the UCL. After few days, Roman bought the club.

Well i went to my first match as a 4 year old in 1973 (no family business involved, my dad was a Huddersfield fan!), so I dread to think how many generations I've witnessed. I have seen 3 relegations though ( and 3 promotions, of course).

I canât describe in words how that drogba penalty made me feel. A mixture of relief and pure unadulterated joy could be a close description but itâs more than that.
Drogba fought for our club everytime he put on the shirt and went out to play. I think what made it even more special is I knew it meant as much to him as it did to us.
IMO he is our greatest ever player, even ahead of JT & Lamps.

Saudi Media's bid to buy Chelsea includes plans to redevelop Stamford Bridge and renew the contracts of key players such as Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.
The group isn't just concerned with ensuring that the men's senior squad continue to compete for the biggest trophies either.
Saudi Media also intends to continue investing heavily in the London club's academy at Cobham Training Centre, as well as the women's team.
Who is behind the Saudi Media bid?
The man spearheading the bid is Mohamed Alkhereiji, who runs Saudi Media and is the CEO of the parent company Engineer Holding Group, which was founded by his father Abdulelah AlKhereiji.

Alkhereiji has spent time living in the United Kingdom, where he attended Cass Business School and spent three years working at Deutsche Bank.
He was at Chelsea's 3-1 win over Arsenal in 2017, the game in which Eden Hazard famously dribbled half the length of the pitch before scoring.

Coincidentally, he was also present the last time Abramovich made an appearance at Stamford Bridge, for the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in November.
Alkhereiji and his children are Chelsea fans, which is why he is so keen to acquire the club.
However, he primarily supports Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr, for whom he built a new, state-of-the-art stadium in Mrsool Park.
As well as being involved in Al Nassr, Saudi Media also works with Al Hilal, whom Chelsea faced at the Club World Cup last month.
How wealthy is Saudi Media?
Saudi Media is the biggest media group in the Middle East, and also has interests in advertising, hospitality, the banking sector and sports.
The company turns over $1 billion (ÂŁ770 million) a year, giving it scope to be a powerful player in English football.
It is worth noting, though, that Saudi Media's takeover bid will be co-funded by a consortium of various other private backers from Saudi Arabia.
Would a Saudi Arabian bid be blocked?
Chelsea have discouraged "politically sensitive" parties from bidding for the club but Saudi Media does not believe it falls into that category.
Unlike Newcastle United - who are now owned by the Saudi Arabian state via the Public Investment Fund - Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain, Saudi Media is an entirely private entity with no direct ties to a particular ruler or government.
Saudi Arabia's record on women's rights, in particular, is a concern to many civil rights groups but SMC employs a large number of women, while the country has made reforms that have resulted in the female share of the workforce increasing to 33.2 per cent.
As it stands, the Premier League would have little reason to block any sale of Chelsea to Saudi Media, having accepted far more controversial takeovers in the past.
What are Saudi Media's plans for Chelsea?
They are ready to tackle the major challenge of rebuilding Stamford Bridge, which could cost upwards of ÂŁ1.5bn ($2bn).
Their previous experience building football stadiums and infrastructure is being touted as a key advantage of their bid, with their existing connections in marketing and advertising also considered a major asset in terms of helping to cover the costs involved in such an ambitious redevelopment project.
Indeed, it is believed that they can attract the most lucrative sponsors to the club, and this is significant because Chelsea have long had trouble matching the commercial draw of Premier League rivals Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
Chelsea have already seen their principal shirt sponsor, telecoms company Three, suspend their deal with the club, but Saudi Media are confident that they can secure a bigger and better agreement for the Blues.
The group also believes its ownership, and extensive media outlets, would prove extremely beneficial in terms of broadening the club's fanbase, given 70 percent of the Middle East population is under 30.
Saudi Media essentially feels it would afford Chelsea far greater access to an untapped market.
Should their bid prove successful, they would also set up academies in the region and use the women's team to change perceptions of how the sport is perceived.
When can Chelsea replace Abramovich as owner?
The UK Government has opened the bidding process, with New York investment bank Raine Group having been employed by Roman Abramovich to sell the club.
The deadline for a sale has been extended to 18 March, after delays caused by the sanctions imposed upon Abramovich, including the freezing of his assets.
English billionaire Nick Candy, and a group headed by Hansjorg Wyss and Todd Boehly, are among those interested in acquiring Chelsea.
